So as it has been fixed recently, killing Stinkbraid's elite crew has become the most effective way to do this quest, leaving the elite frogs behind. The reverse of the medal is that the ship can deplete way faster than frogs on overcrowded servers.

The best place i found to do this quest is in the Croaking Hollow.
All the mobs there are Elites and are fairly easy, so it shouldnt take long to do.

Also the Primal Stalkers in the Red Stone Run right next to it, is a good place as well if you're waiting for the frogs to respawn

If you're having trouble finding mobs that won't blow you up, consider going to The Croaking Hollow (66, 70)

The Gulp Frogs will give credit, are fairly easy to kill compared to the other mobs, and spawn fairly quickly.

Many of the Yaungol mobs on the Timeless Isle are elites that can be killed for Shaohao reputation. So, you can combine grinding rep with the required elite kills on this.

To go even faster, group up with others. At least while the content is relatively new, there are seeming tons of players who want to grind rep who will be happy to team up to speed it up.

Can this be done alongside Drive Back The Flame? It be a better fit if its possible as getting all that rep first then suddenly killing 20 of the hundreds of mobs beforehand would just be a sour set path in a questline.

This quest is affected by rep bonuses. Can confirm the 10% guild rep bonus, at the very least.

Doing just this daily whilst killing the higher ranked Yaunghol elite (Ordos sanctuary) will net you 20*22 = 440 + 275 for the quest = 715 rep with the guild perk (humans 780). Counting from the base numbers you need 42000/715 = 58.8 days to get Exalted (54 for Humans). Considering the patch is the final installment for MoP and it is likely going to be main content for the next 2/3 year you should consider not farm this to death besides doing the daily. The only exception to this would be getting to Honored in order buy the teleport trinket, as it makes your daily trips slightly shorter (you can both teleport to the isle and on the isle when you are done with the daily).

Battle Standard of Coordination can increase your rep gain, but they are not really reliable unless you have a guild member with you that has another one: even putting one down in the middle of the Ordos sanctuary will make it despawn if you move too far to the sides. Extra rep buffs work but aren't advisable because of the high death toll of the elites; if you find yourself at the DMF before going here you should get it, but don't focus on it if you die.

ADD: of course, another viable option to consider is using Scroll of Challenge at the Three-Breeze Terrace and killing every Yaunghol that spawns there. Pros are that this should make the Battle Standard of Coordination more reliable to use, and you don't have to move all the way to Ordos sanctuary in order to start killing. The cons would be that solely killing all spawned mobs is tricky and you do not exactly control whether other players kill or pull them away. The Archiereus does not give rep, but will refund most of the Scroll anyway.

i have a lvl90 pandaren warrior thought i was as hard as iron i can´t kill 1 elite creature at all
i don´t know how to do it that´s all because i die so fast no matter which creature.
guess i might have to leave TI and get better gear and come back as it seems

Croaking Hollow can get pretty competitive for this quest, trying to find mobs to kill.

I've tried staying near one place and waiting for spawns, but that method is VERY slow.

I find the best way to maximize my chances for the most mobs is to cruise randomly around the hollow on a mount, constantly pressing "Tab" to target anything you can find...and if something clicks, hit it with distance damage FAST before someone else gets it. This method works even better if you have a Windfeather Plume; you can cover the hollow faster and get to targets first.

If you're not well stacked with health (400+ min) & not maxed on secondary stats this can be a tough quest. Even with good ilvl it may be you can only solo for Ironfur Bulls, Great Turtles, Windfeather cranes & Gulp Frogs (all 90 elites). The key thing is to get all the buffs you can before starting the killing spree. First find a shrine that is active & 'click' it, if it has not been corrupted you will receive a useful attribute (all stats +20%, damage reduced by 25% etc.) then pop any passive buffs you have collected (crystals, etc).

The next bit is basically; find crane/bull/turtle/frog, kill crane/bull/turtle/frog, repeat. It takes on average 15-20 mins to complete, but this depends on how many other folks are also around killing stuff.
N.B. If you are unlucky enough to get wiped all your buffs will disappear, so you need to go get them all again (shrine, passives). Forget this & it will be another quick trip back to the graveyard & costly repairs.
If you do fancy a crack at the 91+ elites you will need to use your adds (unless you have mega stats) & be careful when using AOE casts, 1 mob at a time is enough! Turtles often sit around in groups, so watch out.

Melee classes may need to heal after each kill & watch the frogs & tigers, they have buffs that, if deployed continue to hit even after you have killed them. FYI - for some reason my Frost DK has particular trouble with Spineclaws & Yaungol Oathies, but everything else up to 91 elite is doable.
Obviously the above is dependent upon stats, so some will find the quest easier than others.

I found this to be very tough on my balance druid with an average item level of 467.

The elite mobs that I found easiest are

Ironfur Great Bull yaks with 1300K hit points that appear amongst the neutral Ironfur Grazer and Ironfur Herdling
Brilliant Windfeather cranes with 1103K hit points, the strongest of the cranes that appear with Windfeather Nestkeeper and Windfeather Chick

Despite the extra hit points, the yaks are a simpler fight for me, as well as being more numerous.

The recommended Gulp Frog in Croaking Hollow with 1426K hit points is currently beyond me, but will be the next step after those two.

If you're like me and just don't bother with using any of the consumable rewards, choose the Singing Crystal as it's the only one that you can actually sell to a vendor.

For 9.0 - 10.0 patch people - Just go to the west beach, follow the road straight west from the arena. Tons of elite turtles all grouped on that beach. Takes 3 minutes
