Seems a little.... I don't know, insulting?... that the reward is only ten tickets and some gold. Considering she killed me half a dozen times while the group fought her, I think I earned a bit more. I demand... ELEVEN TICKETS!

I agree, this makes no sense.

It is a blue pelt, and you get gold and ten tickets? This should be something more worthy of the pelt itself. Heck even a cool cloak with a wolf head would be nice. Plus only 90's can use it? Not really needed by a 90.

236,000 experience? What's the point of giving a lvl 90 XP? Perhaps to save it for the next expansion? I think not.

Maybe, the xp will make sense with the next expansion when one can level to 100. :p

I keep seeing comments wondering why this rewards experience and how it makes no sense because one must be maximum level to use it. I also see others mentioning it's underwhelming rewards.

First, it's an item that starts a quest, by default, earning experience is sort of coded into most of these items, and if you happen to be maximum level when you complete the quest, it will auto correct the experience into gold. Second, it's a Darkmoon quest item much like Ornate Weapon or Soothsayers Runes, you can pass one in each time the fair comes around and earn tickets for items purchasable by the vendors, ranging from vanity items, pets, mounts, transmogrification gear, and heirloom gear.

This quest is started from Moonfang's Pelt which drops 100% of the time for every player that has tagged Moonfang who is a somewhat commonly available world boss (much more often than Darkmoon Rabbit) available only during The Darkmoon Faire in Darkmoon Island. Moonfang is summoned by first killing non-elite Moonfang Snarler then when enough have been killed, elite Moonfang Dreadhowl will spawn with a zone-wide alert, and after slaughtering enough, Moonfang will spawn in the forested section of the island as a stationary neutral boss, heralded by zone-wide alerts. She is quite deadly and should only be approached with at least a few max level players including a tank and healer, making sure not to kite her too far away or she will reset; generally she dies within a few minutes of spawning as she's not too difficult to kill.

Den Mother's Demise is completable for any level 90+ character, and awards 10 Darkmoon Prize Ticket, 250 Darkmoon Faire rep and some minor exp when handing the item in to Yebb Neblegear, only during the Darkmoon Faire. You can complete the quest once per Darkmoon Faire per character.

While you might expect Moonfang's Pelt to only drop once as it can only be handed in once per darkmoon faire, it actually isn't bound and can be freely sold, mailed to your alts or wrapped up in a wrapping paper such as Red Ribboned Wrapping Paper. You can then loot another one if you kill Moonfang again, as long as you haven't completed the quest nor have Moonfang's Pelt in your inventory/bank. You can easily farm a few extra tickets on your alts, stock up for future Darkmoon Faires or sell the Pelts for some extra gold this way and somewhat complements the other darkmoon quest items such as Monstrous Egg to maximise ticket acquisition.

Not worth it for the rep, spent ages (30min+) around this area looking for the non-elite and elites, took over 30 minutes solo, not enough spawns.

Then a prot warr and prot pal 2manned it as they tagged before me trying to solo.

Has a stun, so you'll need a healer or good self healing/stun avoidance techniques otherwise you get chomped.
