Just killed this guy on my second pull, with no prior information on the fight, so I decided to do a quick write-up.

The item which allows you to receive the quest and purchase the card to challenge the boss is Hozen-Fur Fuse. The easiest way to farm this item it to take control of the mob you use for The Burlap Grind in Kun-lai Summit. I had to kill about 130 mobs before I looted the item, but the chance appears to be random, so it might be much less or much more.

The fight in itself is not overly difficult. With approximately 6 million health, and a two-minute hard enrage the DPS requirement is 50k, meaning it's completely viable to use a tanking spec here.

The boss will throw packs of dynamite around the arena, which you can't step on, or they'll do about 150k damage and stun you for 2 seconds, while the boss continues to throw them, making it very easy to get globalled.

Every 30 seconds he'll jump to the middle and light 4 fuses, which run towards a bomb he places in the middle. If these fuses reach the bomb, they'll cause it to explode and deal about 175 million damage (unable to be negated with Ice Block, Divine Shield or similar damage immunities. To stop the fuses, simply walk over them.

Unfortunately, RNG can screw you over by placing fuses on complete opposite poles, making it hard to get them all in time.

You need Hozen-Fur Fuse in order to challenge Master Boom Boom.
To get this item you need to go to Kota Basecamp in Kun-Lai Summit.
Accept the quest called The Burlap Grind and mount Kota Kon.
Kill the hozen until the item appears in your inventory. Keep in mind that it isn’t part of your quest reward and you’re not limited to 100 hozen. Just keep killing the hozen and the item will appear.

At 70 and 30% health he will place a big pile of dynamite in the middle of the room with 4 fuses. Walk over the fuses to stomp them out before they reach the pile or it will explode and one shot you. As a Paladin you can use your bubble to avoid being killed.
Boom Boom will also throw heavy dynamite at you and place packs of dynamite on the floor. Touching the packs of dynamite on the floor will stun and deal a lot of damage.

One of the fights where too much dps can be a problem :) Looks like there are 2 guaranteed fuses phases (% based). So if you burst too hard you will get 8 fuses going almost at the same time - probably easier to kill boss than stop them.

As the only Master Boom Boom on wowhead is the NPC in Kun Lai, here's the strategy for the Master Boom Boom Brawler's Guild challenge:

- Fight begins with Master Boom Boom throwing explosives at you which you must dodge to avoid roughly 50k damage and being stunned. Any explosives that were successfully dodged will arm themselves on the ground and remain there for you to avoid throughout the fight.
- Roughly 10 to 15 seconds into the fight Master Boom Boom will jump to the center and arm a stack of dynamite called Improved Boxed Boom Boom, in which 4 fuses will spawn randomly along the outer walls and quickly make its way towards to middle to detonate. You must VERY quickly walk on top of each fuse to stomp it out (look for a small red circle around the end of the fuse) while also dodging any explosives armed on the ground to avoid being stunned. Just like on the Millhouse Manastorm boss's crystal spawns, RNG decides where the fuses spawn, sometimes all 4 being next to each other making it easy, other times all 4 on opposite corners, making it most likely game over. Letting any fuse reach the middle will result in nearly 10 million in damage, instantly killing you.
- After successfully disarming all 4 fuses, Master Boom Boom will repeat his mechanics of throwing explosives, followed by another jump to the middle to arm his Improved Boxed Boom Boom if not killed swiftly.

If you're having trouble reaching all 4 fuses in time, as they move very fast and are often spread apart, bringing some Darkwater Potions will help make this fight much less stressful, regardless of class or spec you choose.
For the insanely geared, it is possible to blow through his HP before the first dynamite goes off, however the delay between killing him and being teleported out of the arena is too long and you will often explode before you can make it out.

Edit: have not verified, but the phase where you must stomp out the fuses may be linked to his health, and not on a timer, therefore being unavoidable with high DPS for the 2nd round of fuse stomping.

Note that he'll stun you just as he uses Improved Boom Box - and I believe he uses the Improved Boom Box every 25% of his health. High dps and DoT classes may want to take it easy or it is very possible to get two sets of stuns and fuses which is very easy to die to.

I just want to make a note that I was able to loot the quest item while doing the daily quest where you ride the yeti around and stomp on the hozen

would make it easier being able to stomp 8 hozen at once then killing them singly

The shirt gives the buff Brawling Champion with a 'Boom!' buff description, similar to the affects of Precious' Ribbon.

One thing that worked for me as a prot warrior just prior to him lighting his fuses is to use charge followed by shockwave. As near as I can tell, the extended stun followed by a bit of damage prevents him from lighting the fuses.

If you are a rogue the easiest way to defeat him is to stun him before he can light the fuses. I was having trouble stomping out the fuses and I couldn't burn him down quick enough so I opened with a cheap shot then killing spree to burn him down a bit then I threw in a kidney shot and stunned him so he didn't have a chance to light any fuses and finished him off.. Quick and simple!

T16 geared SV hunter notes.

This is NOT a DPS race. If you try and burn him, you will probably die since as others have noted the "fuze" phase always happens twice, once at about 70% health and once at about 40%. Plus he only has about 5 million HP or so.

So here's what I did. I started into him fairly gently, but didn't apply serpent sting or black arrow. Arcane, Cobra and Explosive were plenty enough to drop him enough to start the first fuze phase. At that point I hit <esc> to stop DPS on him, and just left my pet chewing on him. Getting the four fuzes became top priority.

Once they were down, a little more DPS to push to the second fuze phase, lather, rinse repeat, and THEN nuke him down.

It might be possible to beat the fuze explosion with deterrence, I tried and failed twice, but it may have been a timing issue on my part. Whatever the case, the fuze explosion hit for about 115 million points.

Pretty sure I got the credit on this guy - even though I died from his explosions...

I got the quest.
Went in there - unloaded on him with all cooldowns and pets - he died.

Explosions.

I died.
When I came back in - the quest was completed and I got my rewards.

Guess we're all good here.

For those wanting to know how to get the card to start this quest, the NPC you are looking for is Nephew Burrberry at Kota Basecamp in Kun Lai Summet. (coords 42, 69)
He gives you the daily quest The Burlap Grind.
You get the quest and ride Kota Kota to kill the Hozen. You are not limited to the 100 kills that are needed for the daily. Just keep killing Hozen until the item appears in your bag. Or you can just do the daily until you get it.

The explosion can be cheesed with iceblock for mages and I assume other invulnerability effects, so I just nuked him down hard, blocked, explosions, win.

Is there a change if you have loot it in the past, and never activated it or maybe deleted the quest, that you do not get the quest drop anymore ? I am doing it now for 10 minutes, twice accepted the daily. And still no drop.

Today I return and on the first jump with the beast I got the quest into my bags. So yes you can still loot it.

Just thought I should mention. when he does his fuses you have to walk over the lit part to make it snuff out.
