If you don't have a dispel for Guardian Tak'u's heal (Waves of the Hydra), kill the Priest of the Hydra first.

I don't think it's possible to kill this thing. I have high level gear and all I could do is interrupt but in order to stay alive, I would have to do it every 5 seconds.

This quest is solo-able. Use whichever interrupt spell you have only when it tells you to or you will die. Bliz has set his major casts for all classes so you are allowed just enough time in between. If you're having a hard time use a flask like that your spec calls for and bring a good potion (healing and maybe one with the 25 second buff like Vermin's Bite).

He is surrounded but four priests. I recommend killing the Priest of the Hydra first and it's a bit of pick-your-poison if you get the chance to attack another. The priests that were not pulled will disappear. After that, he comes to life and you can fight him.

Stay moving and do so especially if you see anything under you other than concrete. The reason why Guardian Tak'u is difficult is because of the fact that you have to constantly and quickly keep moving out of his casting areas.

Hunters, I recommend killing the Hydra and Serpent priests first - you can avoid the Direhorn spell easily enough and the Hawk spell didn't seem to hit too hard, but the other two are annoying if you don't have Silencing Shot.

This quest is technically soloable, but he does ridiculous damage and requires timing your interrupts at the exact right time, or you get killed.

The quest text really should include a warning about this guy and his buffs. I went in having no idea what to do, and got completely obliterated. SOmeone in my guild explained how it worked, which is nice because the quest text offered jack @#$%.

Quit game for about a year. Returned for Mists a couple months ago. Hopelessly behind but fun....still many hilarious missteps.

Did this today (4.24.13) 3 lightning strikes killed me in a hurry so dropped by here to read before trying again.

Thank You (!) for the vital advice to kill the hydra (boss healing) priest first. Managed to kill another priest too before the boss awakened.,,,as noted here each dead priest removes a spell from Tak'u's arsenal. Kept moving as advised and for my 90 hunter (just 488 gear) it was an easy and pretty quick kill. (this quest also convinced me to lose wyvern sting and grab silencing shot instead...I am still too often slow to put good ideas into practice

Now I have another hilarious problem .....cannot find the quest givers for turn in....lol. Sitting right on top of them in the minimap, and they are just not there for me. I'll log back in later and try and find them again.

As lock, I just thought this was a kill the casting dudes and he releases. Managed to kill two and the fight was easy, just let big blue kill him and I stood up on the rocks, nuked him, and never took any damage. The tornados didn't reach me. Very simple. Next day did again, two other random joined in, and couldn't figure out why he kept healing! No dispels really with voidwalker so ran away and read this thread. Thank you! I was just lucky the first time to pick the hydra priest by accident. Kept thinking I swear I solo'd this guy easily yesterday and three of us can't take him down now. Duh, easy when you know how

Okay, I just finished this a couple minutes ago after wiping about 5 times. I learned that the trick is to take out as many of the priests as you can. Note: You have to KILL them, not just pull them in order to debuff Tak'u. I popped all of cds in the beginning and managed to take out three making the fight alot easier. It's sort of a dps race. Hope this help and happy hunting! :)

OK, they must have nerfed this quest because he doesn't do much damage.

Take out 2 priests others die.

Only key is to be able to dispel/interrupt the Waves ability he casts on himself because that heals him to full.

Solo'd as a Holy Priest/Chastise Chakra NP.

As a Guardian Drood, my dps is barely good enough to down Hydra and Serpent. If I can't get two down, I run away and reset... If I can get those two down, I can finish easily and usually w/o any close calls...

I soloed this one on my Rogue. I recommend killing the Priest of the Hydra first and the Priest of the Hawk second if you can as one buff can be interrupted and the other is avoidable.

Description

I noticed something strange on my last scouting mission. A group of Zandalari are performing a ritual on what appears to be a very large sentry. They may be trying to re-animate it.

We need that ritual stopped and the sentry destroyed. Anything that large can't be good.

I've sent a scout ahead to observe their actions. Meet with her and figure out how to stop them.
