Here is my Quicklist Guide to the Northrend Section of the Pet Trainer Quests. This is a quick reference to see what type of pets you will need to defeat the trainers easily. On Trainers who have the same type of pet for all 3 pets in their party, I would recommend you bring at least two pets that are the opposite type (i.e. bring three appropriate leveled Mechanical types to fight three trainer Beasts). Don't rely on fighting all three of their pets with just one of yours, despite the fact that they will have stronger attacks and defeat them quicker.

Northrend Trainer Quest Line

To defeat these trainers with maximum efficiency, you will need pets of the following type:
Magic, Flying, Critter, Humanoid, Mechanical, Beast

Beegle Blastfuse – Howling Fjord – Level 25
Quickteam List – Magic, Flying
Pet 1: Dinner – Flying – Use Magic
Pet 2: Gobbles – Flying – Use Magic
Pet 3: Warble – Aquatic – Use Flying

Nearly Headless Jacob – Crystalsong Forest – Level 25
Quickteam List - Critter
Pet 1: Stitch – Undead – Use Critter
Pet 2: Spooky Strangler - Undead – Use Critter
Pet 3: Mort - Undead – Use Critter

Okrut Dragonwaste – Dragonblight – Level 25
Quickteam List – Humanoid, Critter

Nearly Headless Jacob:

Stitch – Undead
Spooky Strangler - Undead
Mort - Undead

Turtles! Many turtles can do critter damage, have a heal, and are aquatic so Undead does weak damage to them. Turtles are perfect for this fight.

Get a set of three and name them Leonardo, Michelangelo, and Raphael. And you'll kick ass on this fight. (Emerald Turtle, Spiny Terrapin, and Softshell Snapling can be caught at level 22 in Pandaria)

Turtles will better survive Curse of Doom and Ghostly Bite because of their normally increased health pools and Undead's weakness against Aquatic.

Use Powerball every turn.
Use Healing Wave on cooldown, unless the current pet is almost dead, because you should save it for the Undead passive (because they are going to die anyway).

If your pets are low level (21-22) and you're having trouble with the reduced healing from Call Darkness, you might wanna bring a pet that can overwrite the weather effect (preferably Sunlight or Cleansing Rain.)

Nearest Stable Master: Tassia Whisperglen (Dalaran in the Magical Menagerie)

Gutretch:

Cadavus – Beast
Fleshrender – Beast
Blight – Critter

None of these pets are particularly strong. They all have Consume which is Undead and therefore weak to Aquatic (which is important because the heal they receive is based on the damage that it does.) They also use Burrow which means a healer can burn a heal when they are underground... I suggest Turtles for this fight as well just because it limits the enemy healing. Make sure to switch to Headbutt for this fight as Critter abilites are weak against two of the pets and it can be used against the Critter pet for extra damage.

Nearest Stable Master: Fala Softhoof (Argent Stand directly to the east.)

As each of the Alliance and Horde 'Battle Pet Tamers:' quests have a unique quest ID, you are able to carry an Alliance and Horde one at the same time.

They will show as (Account) in your quest log and can be completed by any character.

When you fight each respective Battle Pet Tamer, it will mark off for both Alliance and Horde quest lines and once completed, you will be rewarded with not one but two Sack of Pet Supplies.

It is irrelevant which character you complete this on as both quests will auto-complete in the field. However, the character which accepts the auto-complete will receive the satchels, regardless of which character picked up the quest (this is important if you like your pet goodies on one particular character).

It does not give you a double shot at the Grand Master Quests (example Grand Master Antari)

This is a great way of doubling your chances at pet and battle stone drops.

Sorry but I took Okrut Dragonwaste's first pet - Drogar - down to single digits six times and each time Okrut brought him back to full health...how are you suppose to win against constant full health and why can they heal their pets during battle but I can not...

I tamed Outland but Audrey doesn't offer the Taming Northrend quest

went to the first pet trainer in Northern in Howling Fjord but he didn't offer to battle

do I have to defeat the Grand Knight in Outland on the daily quest before I can move onto Northrend?

Had a hell of a time getting this quest on my main in Shadowlands. Had finished all the prerequisites and the quest just wasn't there.

Saw a suggestion on another forum to use a low level character, select a different time line (I chose legion on a level 25 char) and go up to the quest giver, and boom there it was all the sudden.

Hope this helps anyone that gets stuck on their battle pet progress!

You can pick up this quest on horde and alliance, and thus have it in your log twice. Completing it on my horde character gave credit to the alliance version as well.

If you are able to best all of them, then Northrend's Grand Master will surely challenge you!
