The marmots must be moving to be punted as of 4/21/12. The ones that are moving around are the ones that have just jumped out of their hole after it being buried. The ones standing still cannot be clicked.

At the moment, the moving marmots do not seem to be spawning, making it impossible to complete the quest.

I got to say that punting marmots, is hilarious and fun. One of the few times I wouldn't have minded a large number to complete.

A very fun quest and having a marmot that you can punt at anytime is cool. Now only if we can get something similar for gnomes.

If you are having difficulty filling the holes, or just want to have some fun striking a blow to marmot punting, grab some Critter Bites and get your marmot army together.

I found that my toxic wasteling helped me with the quest!

I was getting interrupted filling holes from marmots, but now my toxic wasteling kill em so I can fill holes in peace! haha

If you dont have the toxic wasteling try the creepy crate, I guess that should do the work. ;)

Note: This wont count for the "plump marmot moved" ;P

If you find it difficult to taget the running marmots, just start to fill the holes, and a marmot comes to interupt you, and is then close enough to target and kick.
6 holes and 6 marmots easy done.

Locating the holes - I ran all over trying to find them - turns out they are smaller than I expected and all right there in the little cleared area around the quest giver!

Ana Thunderfoot may not want to kill the marmots and I may be willing to oblige but my turtle is not so understanding. Every time I had a marmot attack me, my turtle attacked it. Needless to say, my turtle's thunderstomp killed a few.

Finally, Johhny Awesome has the quest he was searching for in Welcome to the Machine!

"Johnny Awesome says: That's all? One quest? Surely you jest. Are there not bear asses to collect? Perhaps a rare flower that I could pick from which you will make some mildly hallucinogenic tonic which you will then drink, resulting in visions of a great apocalypse? The marmots remain puntable until you complete this quest, in case you aren't ready yet to wait 10 minutes between punts.

As a priest, I levitated, and the marmots weren't able to hit mit while I filled in the holes, But I could still punt them. I used Psychic Scream, too, near a small gaggle of them, which aggro'd them, so they came to me when it wore off instead of me chasing them down.

I stayed well after I finished the quest, punting marmots everywhere just for the sound they make when you do. "Aah!" :3

Also, Desert Flute works on these little puntable guys! They will follow you around, so you can have an army of marmots :D Unfortunately, once you do this, they are not puntable anymore.

Spire of Spite does NOT work on them, however. It will not kill the marmots.

For some reason the quest giver no longer has a (!). You have to just go up and talk to them.

Rampaging Rodents

Move 6 Plump Marmots off of Thunderfoot Farm, and fill in 6 Marmot Holes.

	Plump Marmot moved (6)
	Marmot Hole filled (6)

Description

I went off this morning to watch my papa fight the virmen. When I came back, the farm was full of marmots!

I don't want to kill them, but we need to get rid of them. Hey, I know! We can close the holes!

Fill in their holes with dirt, so they can't come out in our farm anymore.
