Mention with the quest series above, completing Burning Crusade: Through the Dark Portal will mean that this quest cannot be completed or started due to them both leading to the same next quest.

You don't have to go to Orgrimmar to get to the portal. It is in every capital city, next to the portal trainers. Just look for the mage trainers.

List of all the Warchief's Command breadcrumbs and the required level. Remember that none of these count for The Loremaster or associated achievements and are unavailable as soon as you start any chain in the zone it indicates.

As of 5.0.4 though, these quests give 60,000 guild exp (as does any level appropriate quest) so it may be worth while to come back and grab them as you are leveling when they come availible.

Just in case anyone comes looking here (like I did)...

The portal has been moved in 6.0. It's still in Cleft of Shadow, however. If you're standing in the portal's old location, facing the hut with the mage trainers, I would put it somewhere between 4 and 5 o'clock. It's up the ramp and tucked between two shops: Shadowswift Brotherhood and Rekkul's Poisons.

the portal is now near the poison vendor in the cleft of shadow & not near the mage trainers stated in quest

I (and a few other people around me) couldn't use the portal on Blasted Lands to get to Hellfire. I don't know why. (8.1.5)

8.3 update: ''The Thrallmar Mage in the Orgrimmar Portal Room can help you get there.'' this is the shortcut. If you been playing wow for a while theres a portal room now in orgrimmar where you find portals to Dalaran,Dazar'alor,Pandaria etc. Dont take zeplin. Head that room. And Find Thrallmar Mage.

Apparently you have to speak to Zidormi now, no matter what your level is. My 14 level shaman ran around for far too long trying to figure out why I got ported to Draenor every time.

Warchief's Command: Outland!

Report to Lieutenant General Orion at the Stair of Destiny in Hellfire Peninsula. The Thrallmar Mage in the Orgrimmar Portal Room can help you get there.

Description

All able bodied members of the Horde are hereby ordered to report to Lieutenant General Orion at the Stair of Destiny.

Your skills are needed to fight the Burning Legion's presence on the shattered remnants of Outland.

Go to the portal room in Orgrimmar's front gate and talk to the Thrallmar Mage to travel to the Blasted Lands, then walk through the Dark Portal to arrive at the Stair of Destiny.
