Incredibly annoying quest to complete as level 80 for the sole reason that you will pretty much one-shot everything. As mentioned in the Human Infestation quest page comments, the solution is to REMOVE ALL GEAR, including trinkets, rings, etc.

Another helpful tip is to have a macro tied to a button that's easily spammable. All it needs to do is the command:

/cleartarget

Another helpful tip is to ensure that you check the option called Stop Auto Attack in "Interface Options" -> "Combat."

As a hunter, and maybe other ranged classes, you can summon a banshee and get credit, then kill the operating as he or she is carried off and you get to loot them as well.

The pre-req to accept this quest is Aid of the Frostwolf, given by High Warlord Cromcrush.

FYI-you can't get that quest until you have completed the Southpoint gate quests that introduce you to Orkus.

I made a handy macro for my hunter when I was doing this quest; it'll light up when you can use it.

If you're a frost mage, I suggest either dismissing your elemental or setting it on passive just for this quest - this allows you to sneak up on the S1:7 and avoids damage from the elemental killing them before you can summon the banshee.

This quest is a massive pain in the butt for any level, I'm levelling a rogue and I'm one-hitting everything from stealth. I'm having to go up, autoattack, and mash on the button and hope I don't die.

Her info is a bit out of date since theres worgen SL7 operatives in the goblin starting area...so they would of had to of joined PREcataclysm and be feral worgen from around Silverpine.

I found this quest chain to be entertaining and doable, and I've done it as a mage, a hunter, a DK, and a rogue. It may make a difference whether you're Alliance or Horde. Since I've never done it as Alliance, I wouldn't know.(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##ElhonnaDS##DELIM##

I just did this on my level 90 undead priest as part of Hillsbrad Foothills quests for the loremaster achievement, and it was actually a bit hard because of Touch of the grave. First I tried attacking them unarmed, but TotG kept killing off the SI:7 agents before I could bring them down to 35% health and capture them because I was dealing too little damage.
So in order to complete it, I retrieved a low level weapon from my void storage so I could deal more damage, but avoid one-shotting them (I used an IL 62, 140-210 damage staff). Some still died to TotG, but at least the quest became manageable.

I was about to post a comment here complaining about how 6.0.2 has rendered this type of quest impossible (pre-patch naked punch = 150, post-patch naked punch = 4800), but then I remembered:

Resurrection Sickness

This reduces damage done by 75% and all attributes by 75%. This can reduce your damage by a hell of a lot more than you'd think. My rogue just now was able to use a 1 combo point Crimson Tempest to get them below 35% health (via the DoT).

Thing is, I then realized I'd forgotten to take off my gear. That would have made it a lot easier.

Touch of the Grave can still die in a fire though. Absolutely despise it. Its sole purpose is to kill something you don't actually want to kill. If they cared about its healing value, it would instead be something like "heals the Forsaken for 0.5% of damage dealt" instead.

As of 6.0 at level 100 this quest (in my experience) is unable to be completed as you will one shot all of the mobs even with rez sickness & no gear. The same can be said for the quest Human Infestation.

However, for those of you after Loremaster, there are still enough quests in the zone skipping this one and the other to get you your achievement for Hillsbrad.

A tip for the shamans, get resurrection sickness then remove your gear and use your Searing totem.

Then you can agro the mob by running through and 2 ticks from searing totem on lvl 100 should do the trick just be fast to remove the totem and multistrike is bad luck :).

After trying and failing several different methods, I seem to have found one that works for lowering the mobs' HP to the appropriate amount when playing a high-level toon.

You will need to be level 100 and have your legendary DPS ring.

Engage 4 mobs, pop your ring, and kill three of them. Let your ring buff detonate, and it should take the 4th mob to under 35% without killing it. This is because your ring buff will actually accumulate damage based on the HP your targets lose, rather than the amount of damage you do. I.e., if you one-shot a mob that had 672 HP, even if you hit it for 500k damage, your ring buff only gains 25% of the 672 HP as damage output when it detonates.

Be sure that your ring is only damaging one mob when it detonates, as it will split damage amongst multiple targets.

It's a slow method (1 mob per ring cooldown), but if you don't have a pocket lowbie to help you, it will get the job done.

If you're a level 100 Death Knight, Take off all your gear, get rez sickness, spec for Necrotic Plague and Chains of Ice a mob then spam your quest item.

If you're getting bad ticks try slowly putting on a piece of gear at a time so two ticks will put them under 35%.

Tip for Druids. Die and get ress sickness. Go naked. Eat a Felmouth Frenzy and get the well fed buff. Cast Typhoon to knock the agent back and as the fell bolts hit the SI:7 Agent, spam the Banshee Mirror and the banshee queen should capture it just before it dies :)

A note for lvl 100 Death Knights. If you take off all of your armor and get resurrection sickness, applying one of your diseases through Chains of Ice will allow you a small window to use the mirror. As long as you use the mirror while the agent is still alive, it will count towards the quest, even when they die during the capturing process from your diseases.

Use the new toy for getting the agents down below 35%. The Soft Foam Sword will take them to 10% and then you can use the mirror.

just an amusing little fact about this quest you can still kill the operatives after the banshee grabs them and it won't negatively affect the quest so if you're playing something like a zandalari pali you can go skeet shooting!

Description

So you are to be our savior? Very well then, I will bond myself with you. Through this bond I will be able to see through your eyes and communicate with you in the field.

According to the plans you brought to us, the Stormpike have enlisted the aid of SI:7 at Sofera's Naze, to the north. SI:7 are comprised solely of humans - humans that we are able to use to our benefit.

Take my mirror and travel north. Engage in combat with the SI:7 and bring them near death. Once they are injured, use the mirror.
