go inside, turn right, turn right again facing the sleeping area, turn left were u are at centre of house (before the sleeping area) just after the arch way look down to your right its there! just as u hit the centre room!

Just did this.
Go inside.
Turn right, turn left, turn left.
Just before the center of the room with the green carpet, look to the right.
If you are facing the green carpet, then back up to the wall and look to the front right just before the arch.

I went here to see what I was missing on this quest and then I turn around and there it is! Right by the arch with like a light bluish or purpleish light emminating from it! XD

Previous directions are a bit off. You go in, turn right and then turn LEFT towards the sleeping area with the bunk beds and LEFT again. The entrance to the basement is just through the archway. It is a bit dark and hard to see. If you get to the stairs you have gone too far.

Or another way of explaining it, is if you are standing facing the stairway to the second floor the entry to the basement is on your right just inside the arch that heads back to the area with the beds.

It really helped to know there was a basement to find him. If you dont get all the turns right, just look to the right of the room with the green carpet. It is basically under the stairs going up to 2nd floor. Look to the left of the arched doorway to the next walkway before you go thru.

First thing you have to do is get past at least 5 of the Guards in the area. And watch out because two come at you at once by the bunk beds and the room directly across from the bunk beds

It's all there in the description - you must go in the basement.
Once I dispose of him I like to put an end to the three Suffering Victims that are on the racks in the room.
They will not attack you unless you hit them first.
(they really do suffer because wowhead doesn't even list them as NPCs)

One of the more vile members of the Scarlet Crusade, Mataus the Wrathcaster, lurks within the barracks' dungeon. Undeath suits his dark manner.
