I LOVED this quest chain. A great use of phasing technology.

Al tho I feel that some of the characters were a bit random

if you don't use the heart stone provided, thinking you can horde it away for some other time (like i did :( ), once you get to Light's Hope, it is removed from your bag. So just use it, and save yourself the time.

My alltime favorite questline. It's gonna sound a little cheesy, but these guys grew on me. And since I'm an RP-ing dwarf shaman, I felt as though I was helping family. A truly excellent questline.

Awesome story telling in this quest chain, my favourite so far among the revamped old zones quest lines. I love how all the other EPL stories (like Darrowshire and the little Redpath girl, the troll crypt or the high elf lodge) were framed into the big story arc of travelling with those guys.
And you just gotta love the "Paladin Pals".
I was so scared of an unhappy ending for Gidwin, but thank the light he was saved and all are happy now (including myself). :)
Gonna repeat this on my mains for fun/achievement/hearthstone to Light's Hope.

In case you're wondering, yes, you can use the hearthstone, abandon quest, re-accept the quest from Gidwin in LHC and keep reusing this handy free teleport.

Really great for those pesky digsites at northern EPL.

This is easily my favorite questline and one of the most heartwarming moments in the game. Which is particularly impressive since unlike Thrall's grandmother or Muradin being alive, these were just some random npcs.

On the other hand, I was pissed when I was told someone had kidnapped Gidwin. These are MY npcs!

As of today, this quest still exists and it still provides you with Gidwin's Hearthstone. I keep abandoning Journey's End each time after using up the quest item since I can accept it over and over again in Lights Hope Chapel.
If you are comfortable with keeping 1 of 25 slots in your quest log occupied by this quest, it provides you with a free teleport to Lights Hope Chapel with no cooldown. This is especially handy for paladins whose class order hall is in Light's Hope Chapel.

The hearthstone trick still works as of the latest patch. You may have to relog before Fiona and the others appear back at Light's Hope, but they will be there when you do. All you have to do is hearth, dump the quest, then pick it up from Gidwin again right outside.

Description

I've had just about enough of the funk of this place. Undead stink is bad enough, and then you add mushrooms to the mix? I hate mushrooms!

I'm going to head back to Light's Hope Chapel, <name>... and I'm taking Tarenar and Fiona with me. I think we've all earned a well-deserved break.

Let me give you this. It's my hearthstone - you can use it to travel instantly back to Light's Hope. I won't need it - I'm going to be riding in the caravan.
