Unlike most other new cataclysm quests in Azeroth, this one resembles pretty much the old-style farming quests. Drop rate of quest items is unsatisfactorily low so you'd have to kill two or three times the required number.

If you're using Carbonite 4.030109 beta version, the ? for turn in is way off the coords for the actual NPC you should be turning into. Just go back to Thurman Grant at Chillwind Camp.

bears around 38,82...as well as arrows for the "Go Fletch" quest.

loads of bears at 34,78...just keep going north :P

I found the drop rate to be about 50%. Just north of Chillwind Camp were enough bears to finish it easily.

Ok...First off this guy IS in Chillwind camp (at 42:84), not the writhing haunt as indicated on the map above (the very first comment confused me because I was also looking at the map). He is a tall fella standing next to Commander Ashlam Valorfist (who gives two quests of his own). All I wanted was that Bear hunter's rifle for transmogging!

If you're looking to do this quest, the map quest start and end location shown here on Wowhead is wrong. It's actually at Chillwind Camp at the Southern entrance of WPL.

The map here shows the wrong location. This quest is offered in Chillwind camp south of the river.

Okay, I understand why drop rates exist. I understand that you can generally suspend your disbelief by saying "they need a 'pristine' <fetch quest item> and I'm inadvertently ruining them by fighting". Whatever, that's fine. But this quest has me collecting sides of bear meat. Blizzard. There is no chance that I as a druid am destroying these bears so thoroughly that not even a side of meat is left.

Description

I hail from Westfall, far to the south... as do these men that travel with me. We are farmers, and nothing more.

I had been told that Lordaeron had been healed, and that it was ready for tilling. However, this "Commander" now tells me that it's too dangerous to proceed. He says that there's a war going on, and that the plaguelands still aren't healed.

Before anything else, I need to get some food in my men's stomachs. Anything will do. Bear seems to be plentiful.
