To get to the cave with the basilisks, you have to go northwest out of the Explorers League Outpost. Once you get to Gurubashi Arena, go directly east (past the Ruins of Jubuwal) and there they are.

Also, slither-dogs.

For anyone still struggling to find/get to these guys (if you're near Fort-Livingston that is) - you need to get round the big whirl-pool. Follow the path south of Fort Livingston, and follow the cliff-edge path right down (the cliff-path starts around 51,71).

Don't go up the path to the goblin cave, there's no way through/over from there.

You should now have the basillisks right in a clearing in front of you, and the cave round to your left for the dude with the Ironjaw Humour.

The vale ta tha north is filled with a bunch o' useless, belly-scrapin' basilisks. They don't do nothin' for no one, and I hear they turned a guy ta stone once.

If ya kill 'em, I'll give ya some o' my stuff.
