I'm pretty sure you only need to get Frenzied Bloodthirst while not actually needing to get Uncontrollable Frenzy. Hopefully this is the case, otherwise it's going to be really hard to do this without wiping a raid. The Blood Mirror part shouldn't be too hard.

So from what I am reading from the boss abilities and the description in the quest objective, this is my theory about how you get this done.

Strategy: You need to be targeted by Blood Mirror / Blood Mirror. The second requirement says you must get the Essence of the Blood Queen debuff and then follow through with it the full 60 seconds. Last part of this is to allow the debuff to run the full 1 minute and turn into Frenzied Bloodthirst. At this point you have about 9 seconds to use the bite ability (and you MUST use it to get this quest objective done) on a nearby player before you get charmed and start going ballistic on the entire raid. If you have survived all that, you then must kill the boss without wiping. If you wipe, you get to start this entire process over again.

Once the wing goes live I will confirm exactly what it takes, if this turns out ot be wrong. :)

when you get Blood Mirror you run away and let the OT get it since Shadow's Edge will cancel the Blood Mirror debuff and give you the gushing wound debuff instead

This is probably an incredibly noobish question, but, if you have the gushing wound debuff and end up having to bubble during let's say an air phase because you get low and don't want to take a chance at dying. Do you think that will clear the Gushing Wound buff from you?

Just to clarify, you do NOT currently get a buff (unlike shadow infusion during the Unholy Infusion quest) to indicate that you are good to kill Blood Queen. As soon as you bite the 3rd person and your 3-stack of Gushing Wound disappears, you can kill BQL and get credit.

hm... yesterday we have killed the queen. In time pull i had the Blood Mirror ~2-3sec. Further i have bitten three person but a quest to me have not included. Why?

I did this quest tonight - not difficult to do. Here's what I did:

1) Run in with your tank and get the blood mirror debuff. Have the tank use his shield wall ability while you get guardian spirit/pain suppression/etc. Use your own cooldowns on yourself too - I used icebound fortitude and had my bone shield up, so I didn't drop very low. You only need blood mirror for a second or two. Then back out and let the OT take blood mirror.

2) You now have gushing wound, a debuff that ticks for roughly 1500 damage every second. Make sure your healers know this.

3) If you aren't bitten first, make sure whoever is bites you first. Then you bite three more people during the fight. As you bite your first and second person, gushing wound increases to 3000 damage per second and then 4500 damage per second. When you bite the third person, the debuff is removed, but you are still on the quest and all is still good - you just have no indication of this.

4) Stay alive, kill Blood Queen, turn in quest.

If you are DPS, have a tank off-spec and have been lucky to pick up good tanking gear while raiding, you can be the off tank who soaks damage from blood mirror through the whole fight. That's what I did and it worked out fine. The healers managed to keep me and the others alive pretty good.

Since you will only be off tanking the boss, you won't need need any avoidance at all. You only need as much stamina as possible. So just equip, gem and enchant as much stamina as possible. Any damage reduction talents and abilities are recommended.

My guild's GM did this tonight but the quests didn't complete. He got Blood Mirror at the beginning, and bit 3 people, confirming that his Gushing Wounds stacked to 3, then we killed BQ. Anyone know what would cause him not to get credit?

I did Bloodqueen HM yesterday. Cause there's the 10% Buff now, we tried to complete the quest on HM, but it failed.
Is it necessary to equip Shadow's Edge while under the effect of Blood Mirror? So respectively this would be the problem? Or is it the Hardmode? I heard of some guildes which had problemes to finish that quest on HM too. I'm searching for a procedure of solution.

I was able to get the debuff "Gushing Wounds" to show up using Power Auras.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to check for sure this week if it stacks with the bites.

Edit: It did stack but it also appears that it now shows as a debuff compared to hearing that it did not previously.

I just attempted this tonight. Everything was going perfect until I got Pact of the Darkfallen just before the last bite. I was taking too much damage from the Pact and the Gushing Wound and died. Make sure you use some defensive cooldowns if you get the Pact or Shadows when you have 3 stacks of the Wound. I had my disc priest friend Pain Sup me during the 2nd air phase. First air phase I barely dropped. I'd also suggest having Bryntroll (if you have it) equiped to help with the healing.

I had to ask others that have done the quest about this, because I didn't see it here: The Essence bonus damage increase of 100% remains with you, but the gushing wound debuff stacks to 30% decrease in damage at the second bite. So it's only a total of 70% damage increase. You will still heal yourself as normal though.

You only need to have blood mirror for an instant, and must be bitten first or second. Using Deathwish right when the fight started (even before getting the blood mirror) ensured that I was the first to be bit.

Now to give it a second shot...

Was facing BQ in a pug and was just going for a kill (not trying to do the Infusions yet). I was the second person to be bitten, and I bit two others. On the landing, I was blood mirrored, and the Infusion Quest was triggered. I was taking damage just as if I was doing the entire quest.

I am now wondering if it's possible to bite 2 or 3 people PRIOR to getting Blood Mirror and if it will still count? Is 2 the cut-off or is 3, or will it work at all if done out of order.

OK, here's how it went down in the PuG:

I was the second person to be bitten overall. Right before I had to bite someone, I obtained the Blood mirror. I then bit three other people. Quest complete.

At this point in the game, though, getting Blood Mirror early on is trivial. A HoT from a good healer + the ICC buff will negate all but the 3rd bite damage.

Attempted BQ the other day and found if your DPS is good enough, you doing the quest can be in Tank gear the whole fight. The extra armor and health makes it easier on healers. I was tanking but to do the quest i reccomended grabbing an extra tank to take my place for just the fight.

Grabbed Blood Mirror, got bit the from the first person to get bit by BQ, then bit 3 people. It's simple, easy, and i think the healers would like to focus more on the dps and not as much on u.

With the tank gear and spec from the gushing wound i was taking less damage then would have in dps gear. After 2 bites instead of takin the 4500 damage a tic i was gettin hit for bout 3200.

Anyone have the same problem I had?

Problem being: I had the quest in my log and was in a PuG only going for the kill on HM BQ, not to do the quest. We ran in, the tanks picked her up, dps starts, and i immediately get Blood Mirror upon first attack. We wipe, res and run back. This time im trying to avoid getting blood mirror because the dps loss was too extreme for that run. We run in again, i count to TEN and then start dps standing at her max hit box range behind her. Again i immediately get Blood Mirror upon first hit.. We swapped it to normal and the same thing happened even on normal mode. immediate Blood Mirror without me being closer to her than the OT.. I had to drop the quest and repick it back up after we downed her.
I didnt even take a lot of damage when the debuff was applied to me, and blood mirror immediately vanished, leaving gushing wounds. I only took the DoT damage i got.

~ Does Blood Mirror just auto jump to someone that has the quest for a split second or was i just really unlucky with that? lol

~ Also does the 10% damage reduction you get from gushing wounds, negate the 30% buff now in ICC? As in it removes the 30% damage increase you get and -then- nerfs your damage done by 10%? or just reduces your damages by 10% of your total damage with the ICC inflated buff?

This is how to do it:

1. Run in enter combat and make sure no one enters combat except you, tanks, healers. Why? Because highest aggro (except tanks) will get Essence of the Blood Queen.
Face to face boss to get the Gushing Wound debuff, spam DPS so you get good aggro because the Essence of the Blood Queen debuff which will be cast after 10-15 secs in combat is cast on the one with highest thread except for tanks.

2. After you get Essence of the Blood Queen debuff which lasts for 1 minute it starts counting down, when it runs out you become a vampire and get a new actionbar with one spell on it and this last around 9 seconds, so you got 9 seconds to bite one person. After you bite the debuff refreshes to 1 minute and starts to count down. So you need to wait 1 minute and then bite another, you do this 3 times and when you are done the Gushing Wound debuff disappears.

3.Kill the boss and quest completed.

Advice, save your damage reducing abilities till you are going down, as mentioned some spell can remove the Gushing Wound debuff, such as Divine Shield etc.

Make sure healers heal you, it is best to bite DPS; and remember if you or the ones you have bitten don't bite anyone within 9 secs after when the debuff have ran out you will get Mind Controlled, if you see people who are Mind Controlled simply CC (crowd control) them and continue.
Tell people not to stand on the "fire/flame" on the ground, make sure people who are linked run to each other to avoid high damage intake.

If you don't get bitten first, a way to trivialize the need to have so many people bitten is for that first person to die *after* biting you.

so instead of 1->2->4->8->16->wipe people being bitten, it's

1->1->2->4->8 people being bitten.

Granted this takes some cooperation from the first vampire dude.

Quest currently bugged as on 4.3. A game Master confirmed it for me this evening, after I failed to achive the credit, after doing all steps correctly.

The hardest part in the 4.3 is to get people who understand's mechanics of the icc and knows the tactics ... At least on my realm.

And yes 2 person's can do this quest at 1 lockout , but you will need at least 16 people in the raid , but the person with quest must be bitten first , then he bites second quest person.

quest person + quest person = 2
2x2=4
4x2=8( at this point 1st quest player is done and is ready to kill the boss )
8x2=16( at this point 2nd quest player is done and is ready to kill the boss )

But i would recomend to get some extra players in case some 1 dies ( yes people die on that boss becouse people don't understand the tactics ) or some one get's mind controlled by the boss.

I personally lead ICC every week even now in Cataclysm and the question always arises of the infusions, all of which are too easy excluding the mechanics of Blood Infusion.

The easiest way to complete the infusion avoiding any mishaps your PUGs may cause is to...

Stack your dps and healers at the back of the room near the stairs and tell them only to stand there, doing nothing until your call/when the infuser has finished gaining the first Essence of the Blood Queen

You will need 3 players to make the situation as easy as possible, One to tank the boss, The infuser to gain gushing wound from Blood Mirror (which is gained when stacking on the tank) and another player preferably an Off-Tank to soak blood mirror

The tank runs in to the boss, the infuser stacks on the tank and gains blood mirror whilst your 3rd player stands behind the boss. As soon as Gushing Wound is gained by the infuser from blood mirror, the 3rd player (off-tank) switches places so that the infuser can dps the boss from behind. This is ideal because the player with the largest amount of threat who isnt the tank or under the effects of blood mirror gains the first Essence of the Blood Queen from the Blood Queen which will effectively cut the infusion by a minute.

The healer's and dps should still be standing at the back of the room until the infuser gain's the first bite. Healer's should not be healing until he gains the first bite in order for no one to gain threat but the 3 prior players. The rest of the fight is relatively easy as long as the infuser bites pre-assigned players or any players surrounding him.

Note: The infuser cannot gain the first Essence of the Blood Queen if they are still under the effects of blood mirror and always make sure the infuser has Shadow's Edge equipped otherwise the infusion will be wasted.

Do not even consider trying to do this without any friends help in a random ICC25 hc pug full of limited kids who never done it before. Make your own group, 10 people that you know on 25 normal is more than enough to kill her. Plus its much easier to get bitten if you are doing mount achievement. And don't take any DKs with you with the name Arthas or any variation of it.

A fool-proof guide in how to complete it with any pug:

1: As a start, you must be the raid leader (or a major assistant to the raid from the start) in order for the raid to have enough trust for you, to not simply ignore your explanations. Start by putting up 2 markers in the boss area; one for the ones who want a bite and the other for the ones who have been bitten.

2: A tank other than yourself must take the boss, in order for you to obtain the "Essence of the Blood Queen" buff from a bite by the boss, as it will only be given to the one with the highest Dps aggro in the whole raid except the tanks, with the ones who are currently under the effect of "Blood Mirror" excluded. You must have a threat increasing buff in order to obtain it: Blood Presence, Righteous Fury and Defensive Stance (a threat-counter addon is recommended, to not overaggro and give the buff to someone else). By using the threat-increasing buffs, you don't need to have the usual "No dps" for the raid in the beginning.

Simply stand right on top of the tank and receive the "Blood Mirror" debuff, so that you obtain the quest-specific debuff called "Gushing Wound". Then move away from the tank and let someone else gain it, before the "Vampiric Bite" is cast by the Blood-Queen. After you have obtained the buff, there's no need for a re-bite on you. When the 1 minute timer is running out in any stack, it will as always give you the option to bite and then give another stack of the debuff.

3: Always take a notice of the Blood-Queen's health, compare it to your stacks and analyze if you will be able to make the 3 bites on each player. If not, simply give a raid warning to stop the Dps or to use Blood Lust/Heroism. Though it is now with Mists of Pandaria simply required in close to any pug, to Dps the boss to a lower percentage and then stop.

4: When you have bitten 3 players and your stacks have gone away; kill the Blood-Queen and the quest is completed.

Ok guys i need your help it's the second time that i try to do this quest but for some reason i dont get the credit for it! This is the way i do it I equip shadow's edge i rush in only me and tank i get the blood mirror and the gushing wound debuff i bite 3 people i got 3 stacks of the debuff we kill the boss and the quest does not complete i dont use buble or die at all! Am i doing something wrong? I would appreciate any advice!

Here is the current MoP info you are wanting to know. The minimum amount of people you need to do this is 6. I did it with 6, was just enough people for me to bite 3 people and kill the Queen just as the others got MC'd. Otherwise followed the "guide" here.

The minimum needed to do this quest today (7/15, 5.3 MoP) is actually 3 people, with some trickery.

I finished my infusion today after waiting since wrath by using two of my friends, a blood DK and a demo warlock (I'm a ret pally).

Basic strat as follows:
Blood dk runs in, I run in with him. Get blood mirror, I move out and warlock moves in to take mirror. I'm the only viable target w/out blood mirror, so I'm the first bit. 60s of dps for everyone. Then I bit the warlock- 30s of dps, then the warlock lifetapped down and stood in the fire (and blood mirror) to die (death #1).

Warlock soulstones, I bite the warlock (bite #2). Continue for 30s, warlock lifetaps, stands in fire, dies (death #2). Rezzes with the dk's battle rez. I bite her (Bite #3), we both have 60s of dps and kill the boss.

DPS wasnt an issue, we had to stop dps and wait at the end but that may be due to gear (I'm 523, warlock is around 504, the dk's gear was ~460, and didn't have issues with his hp either).

Overall, was a fun challenge to do with friends, and preferable to pugging people from trade!

Edit Note: After some thought this may be possible to two man as a dk (blood, potentially) with a warlock or shaman. One self rez and one brez. It'd just depend on dps and getting that first bite. If having issues with dps you may need to use the plague scientist control undead (+100% damage) buff.

Not sure if anyone else has mentioned this yet, so I would like to share this information.

At level 90, the easiest way to do this quest without having to bring a lot of players is to make sure whoever you bite dies after being bitten (the fire is the easiest way to achieve this). This means the bitten player will lose his buff, not get mind controlled and will not have to bite another player. You can resurrect this helpful sacrificial player if you have so few players that you need to bite him again on the next round of bites.

As long as you bite three people and get rid of the Gushing Wounds debuff, even if you get MCed afterwards, you'll still complete this quest if the Blood Queen is defeated.

That's what happened to me at least. I got the first bite, bit three people (the first of whom was also on Blood Infusion), waited for him to bite his third victim, got MCed because I had nobody to bite myself, died when the boss did, and still completed the quest.

Can be done with very low amounts of people at 90 in MoP. Basically you need to first get the blood mirror debuff, then bite three people with vampiric bite, then kill the boss.

I did this today with 4 people with Ra'sha's Sacrificial Dagger.

First player runs up and melees the boss once. I stand on them and get blood mirror. Then I taunt and DPS until I get the essence of the blood queen. Then we take the boss to 5% health.

I bite another player, they kill themselves

I bite another player, they kill themselves.

I bite the last player and kill the boss, done.

Did this yesterday with 8 friends at lvl 90. There are people claiming that you need a tank to take the boss and the quester to get bitten, but in all honesty, you just have to be the only one with aggro, in dps spec. Had everyone stand at the back of the room in a corner, i alone aggro'd the boss, nobody healed, because im not a tank, i got bitten, and then the tank pulled aggro off and we
continued to do the biting.

I put 3 world markers down in the room, the first mark had 1 person on it, to be bitten by the quester, the 2nd mark had 2 and of course the third mark had 4.

Got it on the 2nd attempt, because on the first i didnt organise stack points for those needing to be bitten, once i'd done that it was a piece of cake. =)

Alright,people make it really complicated and add a lot of bad information. This is what you need to do in the nut shell. In order to complete this quest, you will need to bite other people 3(!) times and kill the Blood Queen. Simple as that. As soon as you charge in, you get blood mirror and 1st stack, it will stay that way until you get the vampire debuff and bite someone. Once you bite someone and attack the boss, you will get 2nd stack. At this time you will still have vampire debuff ticking(1 min until you have to bite again). Once you turn into a vampire you will need to bite second time and get 3rd stack. Finally, when you turn into a vampire and bite for the 3rd time your 3 stacks should disappear and you can burn the boss. This information is gained from 5 hours of trying and countless wipes. By the way paladins, if you bubble, you will loose all your stacks.

Hello guy, I did this last night on my ret pally. It is simple, and a lot easier (and way less confusing) compared to all the others that are posted here. Our comp was me (ret pally), two blood death knights, and a hunter. The hunter took off all of his gear.

I would go in with one blood death knight to get the Gushing Wound debuff by getting blood mirror. Then, the other deathknight would come and stack on the one that came in with me. This drops blood mirror, allowing me to get the bite. The hunter does nothing.

I get the essence first (tested three times). I would bite the hunter when it was time for me to bite. The hunter then stood in the fire, and died. One of the deahtknights would battle res him, and I would bite him again after that, as to how he does not have essence still. He would stand in the fire, then the other deathknight would battle res him again. I would bite him, and he would die. Then we burst the boss down, and I got credit for the quest.

Just two manned this.

Warrior and Warlock. Had the Warlock soulstone himself and then log off. Wait 10 minutes for the CD to come up and then log back in. Both ran in, Warrior doing more DPS to get the first bite. Warlock just uses talented life drain to keep himself alive.

1st bite, Warlock uses burning rush to kill himself then takes his soulstone rez. Then he applies a new soulstone to himself.

2nd bite, same thing but no new soulstone.

3rd bite, and then you burn boss.

540 Ret Pally. Two manned with a 490 lock.

Strat is similar to that posted with a DK only that the lock has to use a SS on himself before the pull and wait for cooldown to be up before engaging, so he can use a second SS during the fight.

If you stand outside the room, the warlock can engage and reset the encounter with an eye of kilrogg and have all cooldowns reset to minimize downtime.

Started with righteous fury in order to hold threat. Had to toss the lock a few heals. If you need extra dps, you can switch to your main weapon after you have the gushing wound debuff, but make sure you equip shadows edge before you bite each time.

Completed the blood infusion on a level 80 twink warrior today with four 90s to assist.

our comp was - myself
- Resto Druid
- Monk Tank
- BM Hunter with a brez pet
- Frost Mage

Strat was similar to most others posted.

Had the monk and druid pull boss and stack together so they receive the Blood Mirror , the druid was solely there to soak Blood Mirror with the monk and to heal me.

I stood behind the boss and put out as much dps as possible, while the mage and hunter stacked near the stairs.

Once I received Essence of the Blood Queen because I was the only one dps'ing besides the tank. the hunter and mage slowly picked up some dps. Also to note the mage was wearing minimal gear, so he could die quickly.

When I was able to bite, I moved quickly to the mage, used the ability then he immediately ran into the purple fire and died. He was then battle rezzed by the druid.

Waited till I was able to bite for a second time. bit the mage, he died in the fire for a second time then the hunter battle rezzed him with his pet.

Once again we waited till I could bite for the third time. bit the mage, then popped lust and began to nuke the boss down fast.

I managed to get a 4th bite in near the end on the hunter, once the boss died I received credit for the quest.

Done . I post because incredibly i was unable to find a post about how to get it done with only two people. Given the op of 560 ilvl its quite simple, it requires little coordination.
Only 2 ppl (sadly not any 2):

Blood DK (Tank & infuser)
Warlock (bite target)

Warlock cast to self Soulstone and does nothing , literally.
DK goes in first and hold it until he/she gains : Essence of the Blood Queen
Warlock enters and both dps for 60 secs ( to be save keep her above 60%)
Dk bites (Bite #1)
Warlock kills him/her-self ( we did it with Burning Rush , "Run away little..... " :P )
Warlock uses Soulstone to revive
Both dps for 60 secs (not below 20% again to be safe)
DK must keep runic power above 30 by the end of this time.
DK bites (Bite #2)
Warlock kills him/her-self ( again Burning Rush )
DK uses Raise Ally on Warlock
dps 60 seconds ( easy, we stil have time)
DK bites Warlock (Bite #3 DONE!)
ban... kai.... ... kill her

I see quite some recent comments about Soulstones and battleresses to be able to do this quest with as few people as possible. I'm posting a quick 101 guide on how to do this with eight through two players, and how to obtain the Gushing Wound and Essence of the Blood Queen.

EDITED in 6.1 to reflect the battle ress cooldown and to use a shaman with Reincarnate.

Amount of players
Two players requires a shaman, three or four players requires at least a battleress, and five through eight is relatively simple. In the following situations 'Player A' is the infusion player and 'Player B' the resser or warlock, and I expect Player A to get Gushing Wound, the first bite and always bites every round.

Without resses:

8: everyone can bite in the 3rd round. Finish off the boss.
7: one player gets MC'd after the 3rd round. CC this player and/or finish the boss.
6: slightly harder, two players get MC'd after the 3rd round. Either let them suicide beforehand, finish one player off quickly or kill the boss before MCs.
5: need to nuke the boss right after the last bite. The last player bitten should be the highest burst dps. Bring the boss below 10% before the 3rd round. When it hits, Player A bites the unbitten player immediately and they finish the boss before MCs kick in.

With ress:

4: Round 1 A bites C. Round 2 A bites B, C suicides or gets killed (DON'T bite D), B resses C. Round 3 A bites C and B bites D. Finish the boss. Of course this ressing tactic can be used if you have five or six players if you feel uncomfortable nuking the boss.
3: essentially the same as four, but in round 3 B can't bite: either kill the boss before B gets MC'd or kill him off quickly.

With a shaman (updated for 6.1: it's no longer possible with a lock)

2 (DK + shaman): round one A bites B, B suicides in the fire and from Blood Mirror. A resses B. Round 2 A bites B, B suicides again and reincarnates. Round 3 A bites B. Finish off the boss.
2 (warr/pala + shaman): B needs a soulstone from a supporting warlock (alt of the quest player is possible). Now do the same as with a DK.

Gushing Wound & Essence of the Blood Queen
The crucial parts for the first bite is that the player is highest on threat without Blood Mirror. As player A needs Blood Mirror briefly to get Gushing Wound, a quick swap is required.

3+ players: player B functions as tank. Initially, A stacks on B and receives Blood Mirror and Gushing Wound. Now C immediately switches with A. B and C have Blood Mirror and A gets bitten. If you have more than three players let the additional players do nothing till A gets bitten.
2 players: player A needs to be the highest in threat as there is no player without Blood Mirror. Let the shaman stack on you but not use anything.

Hope this combination of info will help players doing this quest in the future, and that any misunderstanding regarding Blood Mirror and the bite are of the past.

I have completed this quest as of 6.0.2, so I would like to give some input.

My group was comprised of a Warrior (myself), a Restoration Druid, and two others, who were only there to get bitten. Make sure that you have Shadow's Edge equipped.

Here's how I did it.

At the start of the fight, everyone else stayed at the entrance of the room. I attacked Blood-Queen Lana'thel by myself, without any heals. After a few seconds, I gained Blood Mirror, and a few seconds later, she bit me, giving me Essence of the Blood Queen and my first stack of Gushing Wounds. At this point, you can start receiving heals, but there is no reason for anyone else to be attacking the boss.

It takes one minute for Essence of the Blood Queen to allow you to cast Vampiric Bite on another player. After biting the first player, you receive a second stack of Gushing Wounds.

I chose to bite the mage in my group first. I discovered that Blood Mirror links to the character closest to you, so after biting the mage, I stayed very close to her, with my back to the boss so that I would not dodge or parry, and the mage stood in the Swarming Shadows. All of these allowed her to die very quickly, so that she would no longer have Essence of the Blood Queen. Once she died, the druid cast Rebirth, and the mage came back to life.

After the second minute, the boss casts Incite Terror, and directly after, Bloodbolt Whirl. The group then used a few defensive cooldowns in order to survive this phase, as it dealt the most damage.
At about the same time, I was able to cast my second Vampiric Bite, which I used on the rogue, giving me three stacks of Gushing Wounds. Again, we used the combination of Blood Mirror and Swarming Shadows to quickly kill the rogue, so that he would not become mind-controlled. At this point, the rogue stayed dead.

After a third minute, I cast my third Vampiric Bite, granting me the fourth and final stack of Gushing Wounds, which then promptly vanished from my debuffs bar, and I recieved Blood-Quenched in my buff bar, with a 6-minute timer. At this point, we no longer needed to kill the mage, as I knew that the boss would die within the next minute, and the mage would not become mind-controlled.

Assuming that everything has gone correctly, congratulations! You have completed Blood Infusion! Return to Highlord Darion Mograine to turn in your quest, and begin on Frost Infusion, which is incredibly easy.

I tried this quest few times with my guildies just ten minutes ago and I didn't get the Thirst Quenched applied. I gained the Gushing Wound stacks normally, but after getting the final stack, the debuff vanished as it should but the buff wasn't applied...

After u've reached 4 stacks a buff should appear, this does no longer happen for now, but u do still complete the quest upon kill the boss!

Shadow Infusion Will show as a buff.
Thirst Quenched Will NOT appear as a buff.
Frost-Imbued Blade Will show as a buff.

I don't think I was the only one thinking that you needed Thirst Quenched to be shown as a buff as it did on the previously quest: Unholy Infusion.

I did this quest on my warrior with a warlock and paladin (Holy). Warlock had soulstone on himself.

First bite = Warlock ---> he dies.
Warlock uses Soulstone.

Before second bite warlock put out his teleport Demonic Circle: Teleport in the middle of room. When the boss flies up in the air its important to spread because of Bloodbolt Whirl otherwise you die. At the same time boss flies up you will become a vampire. After bloodbolt have finished you will have a small gap of window witch allow you to bite the warlock again, and that is the part he uses teleport to you, standing on warlocks Demonic Circle..

Third Bite = your healer
After that Gushing Wound will disappear and you won't get Thirst Quenched as a buff BUT it still counts and you will get the quest completed..

So excited, first time posting comments on wowhead after using it for years.
Just did it on my death knight(soulscribe-bathilas-horde).

as the battle rez mechanic on 6.0, 2 man is not available.
Tried to use other 2 toons, my alt warlock, my gf's main- a lv87 priest, lol.
Found out when soulstoned priest, log off will immediately clear the buff.

But, what I tried as plan B is, she had a lv80 pally alt(from somewhat blz's scroll of resurrection i think).

So, log on pally, and log off at blood queen's room, log on priest again.

start fight. as blood link still hurts on a lv87 toon, had to switch and keep herself up(penance and flash heal).

as my dk is dpsing boss, he got bite. stay in patient, then bite poor priest.
log off priest asap. stay in character menu.

blood queen should lift off now, beware to pop cd as for some reason i dont know it hurt me very bad, even i was in blood talent.

you should left ~5 sec before able to bite, log on pally, bite her immediately.
log off her asap again, and log on dead priest.

be patient and try to do some dps, otherwise wont able to beat on time. my alt is poor geared, lv525.

left ~8 sec again, battle rez priest, and bite her.

the grievous wound debuff fade, and as other people said, NO BUFF is gained.
Burn blood queen down, completed.

"soloed" by myself all this mess :) and able to start farming shard next week.

As I havent clearly mentioned how to "log out in combat" and other people think it's impossible.
This is what i did.

For somehow, my gf's priest alt is able to log off in the menu.(Dont ask me why but it is working)
I know it's sounds impossible, so my back-up plan on log out trick is, get a 3rd WOW client running, put in login detail first, after priest log off.(if you cant, simple alt+f4, or do as follow if you computer can handle)
Log on the priest again asap, it will kick her offline, as you all know, log on other poor victims.

Three-manned today with a Holy Paladin (me), a Holy Priest, and a Warlock.

Our well-geared level 90 Warlock could comfortably nuke Blood Queen from 95% to zero in less than sixty seconds after being bitten, so we went with a two-healer setup to manage the damage, which is surprisingly spiky, especially during air phase.

The successful strat was for me to run in alone, well ahead of the other two, until I was bitten. Then we all stacked in front of the boss. My first bite went to the Warlock, who immediately committed suicide in the flames and then resurrected himself. Second bite went to the Priest, who also suicided and remained dead. Third bite went to the Warlock again, who nuked the boss down before he could be mind controlled.

The most difficult part of this strat was making sure the suicides happened within sixty seconds, to avoid mind control. With the Strength of Wrynn buff it wasn't always easy. This strat will likely be more difficult above level 90 when health pools increase again.

patch 6.0.2 friend of mine went to do this. The new combat rez system as I understand it is
1 charge, per 90/x where X=the number of players in your group. Therefore, a group of 3 players, will have one combat rez charge per 30min of battle. This made It a little more challenging to accomplish.

End result, we used one warlock with soulstone, and one shaman, and the third player with the quest was a paladin.
-combat starts
-Shaman got bit
-shaman died
-shaman self resurrected.
-shaman was bit for a second time
-shaman died
-warlock used the one combat rez with soulstone on the shaman
-shaman was bit for the third time
-boss killed, quest accomplished

This was completed on November 4, 2014, well into Patch 6.0.

This can be done with 3 people quite easily. I play as a DK and brought with me a blood DK and some kind of Warlock. Since the patch, they have fixed the Brez hacks that we have all come to love over the years. Now, upon entering ICC, the CD for Brez is either 30 or 45 minutes. We weren't sure what caused it to change, but both DKs Brez and the Warlock Soulstone kept changing CD time throughout the instance. Once we got to Blood Queen, it stayed at 30 minutes.

As stated, I rolled in as a frost DK and brought a blood DK and a Warlock. We all have really awesome self heals that scale with the damage from the lower dungeons. If you aren't a DK, you might want to bring a 4th person, a healer of sorts. Not sure how well Pallies and Warriors heal themselves in combat. Now even with the awesome self heals, this got REALLY dicey at the end, when you are getting that 3rd stack. You can do it with the comp I did, but you might wipe a few times to get timing down.

The strat is really simple: As the person wielding Shadow's Edge, go in and dps her down to 80%. That number is not in concrete, it's just how much I took her down each attempt when she finally got around to biting me. Once you get the bite, stop dps and let the tank pick her up. Blood DKs have no problem sitting there and hitting Death Strike/Conversion combos to stay alive, while not worrying about killing her. Once the timer hits zero, you get a new toolbar and have a few seconds to bite someone. I bit the lock and he life tapped himself to death.

Have your DK tank use his Brez on the lock and the lock will Life drain or whatever they do to heal. You will be taking damage periodically due to the bite debuff. It's not really noticeable at first, but as the fight goes on, it starts melting you down quick. If I remember correctly, it starts off doing a little under 2k per tick, but doubles after each bite. She also does an AOE *!@# that does more dps as you burn her down. Right before you get to do your 2nd bite, like....alarmingly right before, she will fear you all. That means she's about to phase.

After the fear, go bite the Warlock again. Make him lifetap and die. At this point, the debuff and her aoe dps will start hurting. Dks of any spec just death strike and death siphon/conversion to stay alive with no worries. Another 60 seconds and now you get to bite the DK tank. Once you bite the tank, you have to burn her down quickly. She starts doing crazy damage and killed us a few times. Like I said, with the patch nerfing those 1million HP pools, these 2-5k ticks start hurting again.

Took us a few times to do it, but it's really easy to do once you get it going. If I have to do it again, I'll make sure to bring a healer just to make it easier.

I followed Soulcannibal's method and get it to work for me. Although log out during encounter is not possible normally, you can "log out" through disconnection, either by alt-F4 or logging in on the same account. as for logging in, I can log in on toon that was disconnected just fine.

I have DK who need quest on one account and mage and shammy on another account.

1. I get all 3 toon to Blood Queen's room while periodically switch between mage and shammy to prevent them from being ported out to entrance.

2. I disconnect the shammy then jump to mage as I start the encounter. only DK engage with mage wait in the back so DK get both mirror and bite. dps boss a bit just to make sure I finish her off in time.

3. Wait until DK can bite, bite mage, then disconnect and jump to shammy right away. shammy is on in time for the next bite. make sure you can survive her aerial phase

4. after the bite, let shammy die then reincarnate. keep both alive til the next bite.

5. one last bite on shammy then kill boss, quest complete.

One thing to consider is the speed you can log to the character. If your log on have time gap like me, you need to switch toon ASAP. If your log on is instant, you can wait a bit.

Since 6.0.2 has messed up the brezzing of people in raids, the way to duo this as a DK is as follows:

DK pulls, gets vamp'd.
DK bites Shaman
Shaman dies
Shaman reincarnates right before next bite is due(Don't reinc too early and die from low hp)
DK bites Shaman again
Shaman dies again
DK brezzes Shaman
Shaman takes rez right before next bite is due(Don't accept too early and die from low hp)
DK bites Shaman again.

Kill boss.

Don't really know what happened. I tried one of the tactics mentioned here. I will explain:

Our setup:
Restoration shaman
Balance druid
Retribution paladin (me)

First I bit shaman after that he let himself die. He resurrected himself with reincarnation. I bit him second time. He died again. After that he was resurrected by balance druid. I bit him third time. Now I should have 4 stacks and just kill queen to complete quest. I noticed very late that I only have two stacks (WTH?) and boss was dead a couple of seconds later. I don't know what happened and it really pissed me off sice it took me a long time to find a party for this quest.

Does anyone have a similar experience? What happened? What did i do wrong? How can I prevent this from happening next time?

Just completed this quest and it is rather easy now.

I used 4 people including myself. In my case, it was 100 Fury Warrior (Me), 100 Ret Paladin, 100 Blood DK, 100 Arcane Mage.

I started the fight as the ONLY person attacking her. I got Blood Mirror, Gushing Wounds.

I'm assuming that since I was the only person on her Threat meter, she bit me.

Then I just took turns biting each other player. As I bit them, the killed themselves. The last person bit (Blood DK) helped me finish off the boss.

We tried this with the trio method (Fury Warrior, Blood DK, and Warlock). But the warlock kept getting killed as he rezzed (He was only level 89). I think with everyone's health and damage pools, it's a lot easier just to bring 4 "victims" to complete the quest.

So, I figured I would contribute some information for doing this quest at level 100. You can do this with 2 players, I used my death knight and my friend used his shaman in resto spec. With his shaman and being level 100 our first go at this quest left him unable to die for the most part in a timely manner, so he stripped his gear to just 4 pieces. From there it went like this:

For the first bite it was a simple matter of waiting. Make sure that you get the blood mirror link with your buddy or else the quest won't be completed. The shaman should maintain their HP at around 50% so that once you bite them they can just die. So, get the bite after 1 minute too easy.

The second one we initially had the most trouble with as the Blood Queen will be levitating into the air and dropping damage on both of you, damage that your shaman needs to be prepared for. Since our initial go made that difficult I used Raise Ally with about 10 seconds until she levitated. That gave the shaman enough time to heal to full, pop Astral Shift, and let me bite them then die again. I emphasis the use of Raise Ally as the CD will reset if you wipe before the shaman's self res and this bite took a couple of tries for us to get down.

For the final bite it was just a matter of once again waiting for the timer to tick down. I don't remember any specific mechanic issues happening in this time frame, just have your shaman res with about 10 seconds to go as in the previous phase and heal up in order to ensure that they are alive for your third bite. You should be DPSing down the blood queen prior to this bite to about 50% as once you make your third bite you have a minute to kill her or you wipe. But that was too easy, once the shaman ressed and I bit him, we popped lust and had her down in 30 seconds.

So the pact of the darkfallen does 5k ticking damage which necessitates this requiring a healer if done with more than 2 people.

This abilities deals a disproportionate amount of damage to players in this raid and needs to be scaled down appropriately. Likewise the infest on Lich King also

Writing this a couple of days before 6.1

I've now completed this part of the legendary on my DK and my warrior. We've got a fairly tried and tested method that seems to work well, and requires just one res, for those, like me, who are in a small guild. We used a DK (the res) a monk (heals) and a mage. Avg ilvl was 635ish.

The person on the quest goes in and gets bitten, for us the DK. We had them fight right by the stairs where the boss is. Remember to have Shadow's Edge equipped!

The other two stood right back, by the other stairs. The queen yells "know my hunger" after the bite, and at that point we blitzed on the DPS to about 30% or so, allowing (these days) 10% or so for the dots to tick and run out.

Once we'd hit the 30% target, we then targetted the mage to die first, so they stood in the flames, removed weapons and they received the first bite. They died. The DK then receives the next bite instantly, and the healer was there to top up the DK and themselves (but not too much). When it was time, the DK bit the monk, and then the monk dies.the DK gets the next bite, resses the mage, and then the mage will in turn get the last bite, giving the DK the infusion, and death to the boss.

During this time we had a couple of key points:
- Using the healer to top up the DK as much as needed, and ensuring the mage (and the monk) lived long enough to die.
- No-one but the DK can start the fight or our bite seemed to go anywhere. (that's probably our understanding of the mechanics of it).
- Once you have all the infusions onto Shadow's Edge, the debuff vanishes, and it's not always replaced by a buff with a 6 minute timer. So make sure you always know where you are with this.

As of 6.1 on my death knight while helping a friend get blood infusion my combat ress got a 30 min recharge cd upon pulling the boss, making this quest impossible to 3 man, not sure what is causing it, maybe it's a 'bug' fix from blizzard?

Edit: Nevermind was a graphical bug, ress still worked.

Here is a confirmed strategy finishing this quest in 6.2 with only two accounts with a DK but without a shaman.

I have my level 100 blood dk (quester - ilevel 670ish) on one account, and a level 100 hunter (ilevel 675) and level 94 druid (ilevel 530) on another account. Have the druid take off her gears and leave the hunter on her max gear. I used three computers but I suspect two computers might do if the switching is fast enough.

First bring the dk and the druid to the encounter room, and the druid stay in caster form for easy heal if needed (she is a feral). Then on the third computer log in with the hunter and bring her over to the encounter room. Immediately switching back to the druid account and bring her back into the game, this should disconnect the hunter but keep her long enough so that I can start the encounter with all three characters still in.

Use the dk to start the encounter and have the druid stay as close so that the blood link is established between the dk and the druid. Bring the boss down to 80% and receive the first bite, run around (be careful not hitting the boss too much) and wait out the one minute while the druid keeps healing herself (at this time she is almost OOM). Take the first bite and once the druid stop healing she will die quickly due to linked damage. Battle rez her but ask her to not take it at the moment, wait till she's airborne and did her AOE damage, then the druid took the battle rez and I immediately bite her the second time, this time she died even faster due to her smaller health pool after the rez.

After this, immediately switching back to the hunter account (fortunately she didn't get ported out --- you can sort of see her dot on the minimap to keep an eye on this), and wait another minute till the last bite, after that it's easy to just burst down the boss and get the quest completion confirmation.

Hopefully this would help other people like me who is finding increasingly difficult to get people to help on this.

6 easy steps to completing the quest.

Essence of the Blood Queen will be applied to the character standing the farthest away from the boss. So to save yourself the hassle of having to wipe the raid, take the Gushing Wound debuff by standing next to your designated tank then quickly run away, farther than the other raid members. The minimum number of people possible to complete this quest is 3 people, if one is a druid due to combat res (or a warlock with orb or a hunter with the Quilen pet).

1 - Do it in this order, take the Gushing Wound, run far away guaranteeing that you will get Essence of the Blood Queen

2 - When it times out you will need to use Vampiric bite on the member who doesn't have a combat res (or the one that was soulstoned by the warlock) , as soon as that person is bitten by you they must kill themselves.

3 - Once dead they will ressurect without the Essence of the Blood Queen debuff making it possible to bite them again when the time comes.

4 - Once that person is bitten a second time by you they must kill themselves again or they will become charmed and lose control risking a wipe (with a good healer it's very easy to survive a charmed player)

5 -After another 60 seconds pass, you'll bite for the 3rd time but this time you will bite the last remaining player which will give you the last stack of Gushing Wound and the debuff will transform to Thirst Quenched.

6 -Thirst Quenched has 6 minute duration which is the time you need to kill the boss and complete the quest.

If i am correct by my own fault.
You don't need to do it on 1 go, i had some of the bite last time I failed to bite a member so you need to bite 3 times not bite 3 times in one go.

Helped a guildie do this the other day with only 3 toons. Most guides in here call for a minimum of 4, but fortunately, a lock or shammy will count as 2 people.

Our group was made up of a DK (the wielder), me on a lock (half naked), and my wife's priest.

Soulstoned myself and then waited with the priest on the steps. Once the DK was bitten, then we moved closer.

His first bite was on me, and then I went in stood in fire (while also being linked to him for the extra damage) in order to die before I needed to bite someone.

I died, and then waited for him to need to bite again. 5 seconds before needing to bite, I accepted the soulstone rez, moved out of the fire right away and popped a healthstone (just in case of incidental damage from the boss). Immediately bitten, and then ran to the fire to die again (probably not needed, but just to be safe).

Last bite went to the priest - as soon as she was bitten, we were able to nuke the boss and then go hand it in.

Hope this is clearly written and helps people who are having trouble conning people to come help them.

I just theorycrafted an idea for a non-Death Knight and a Shaman with a friend (she was on a different server and I wasn't willing to waste the gold to buy the trinket).

Have the Shaman equip Darkmoon Card: Twisting Nether. The catch it that once the Shaman dies the first time the trinket HAS to proc. If it doesn't wipe and start again. If it does proc, rez with it (and heal up fast), get bit a second time, die then reincarnate with Reincarnation and get bit for the third time.

I didn't get a chance to test but it might make up for the lack of a Paladin or Warrior b-rez.

The TL; DR version of how you do the quest.

1. Bring 3 other players (or 2 if one of them can die and self-resurrect)
2. Set Raid-difficulty to 25-man (heroic or normal)
3. Equip Shadow's Edge
4. Double-check that the wielder actually equipped Shadow's Edge
5. DPS the boss slightly
6. Wait for her to cast Essence of the Blood Queen on the wielder (1m duration)
7. When the duration is almost up position yourself close to one of the raidmembers
8. When Essence of the Blood Queen wears off, you will become a vampire and have only one ability (Vampiric Bite)
9. Use Vampiric Bite on said raidmember
10. Repeat steps 6-9 two more times on the other raidmembers until you no longer have the Gushing Wound debuff
11. Kill the boss.

(12. Hand in the quest, and accept Frost Infusion)

This is really simple. First: MAKE SURE YOU ARE WEARING THE SHADOW'S EDGE! 2nd step, the tank (the one with aggro on boss the whole time) just stands there and taunts her once in a while, YOU with the quest runs up to the tank, then you run away from the tank, make sure you stand the farthest away from the tank, when you do this the blood mirror will be put on the tank and the other guy you bring with you. You get the essence, which makes you RED and BIG, after its 1min duration you get 1 button on a new castbar that says bite, so you bite one of the people you brought with you ( not the tank yet) and depending on if its 4 or 3 of you, the one you bite first have to die immediatly, then gets CR'd immediatly aswell, standing between you and the tank. Make sure that you run up towards the tank again and then stand the farthest away from tank, causing the blood mirror link between the tank and other guy. Bite 3 times and then kill her. Notice that it wont say anything at all even when you have bitten 3 people, just make sure that after you've bitten them, they get the ESSENCE making them BIG and RED. As you bring her down towards 20-15% she'll be absorbed by your Shadow's Edge and the quest is completed.

DK initiates combat. DK gets bitten.
DK bites Alt1. Alt1 dies.
DK rezzes Alt1 with Raise Ally.

Alt2 logs in. DK bites Alt2.
DK and Alt2 kill the boss.

Make sure you have Shadow's Edge equipped; you can kill the boss as soon as your Gushing Wound stacks go away. Hope this helps!

Guide for Death Knight + 1 Warlock (just 2! minimum players required)

I did this as a Blood DK, wearing Shadows Edge (wear it the ENTIRE TIME) in 25man Heroic (you can also do 25 Normal, I just happened to have it in Heroic - the warlock may need some extra incentive to die in normal - makes it more difficult for the wrong reasons in Normal)

(701ilvl before equipping shadows edge, but I imagine most 100s would be just fine doing this regardless of ilvl)

Cliff Note Version:
need 4 "bites" "stacks" or "transfers" (however you wish to view it) to get the quest, 1 is from Lana'thel (inital transfer from her to you) 2nd on warlock (then he dies, waits a bit, then uses soulstone) 3rd on warlock (then he dies again, wait a bit and bres him) and the fourth and final bite on the warlock before you both kill her til shes dead...

Full Version:
Warlock casts soulstone on self, has pots/healthstone
DK initiates, (Just did a taunt and a couple auto attacks to start it, saved taunts in case warlock pulled some aggro somehow) warlock stands in the back of the room and chills.

DK gets bit, and before the hunger hits, warlock stacks on DK for bite - warlock can stand right next to you after you have aggro for the rest of the encounter.
Use the ability that it gives you, seconds before you are mind controlled to bite the warlock
(similar to when you're in a vehicle - should be "1" to actually use the bite)

warlock, gets bit, turns purple like you, AFTER he is purple he can die
warlock stays dead until there are about 10 seconds left on your debuff for the next bite.
dk just sits there and plinks away at boss periodically (intermittent auto attack is enough to fill health - no cds required)

warlock uses soulstone, (and health pots/stone depending on how good your timing was) dk bites, warlock turns purple, and then warlock needs to die again

warlock stays dead for awhile,

DK uses BRES a few seconds before he gets hungry again, bites warlock, and with you both purple, go into full DPS mode and kill the boss in less than 6 minutes (in 6.2, this goes FAST - shouldn't take more than a minute - 6 is plenty) - the warlock may wish to heal himself during this part, as he will continue to take damage the entire time.

NOTES:
I'm not sure, but I think damage reduction cooldowns aid in the lifespan of the warlock, (when linked) so depending on the situation you may wish to pop some cooldowns if you think the warlock may be taking too much damage before you can bite/after you have bitten 3x (gotten 4 stacks) and can kill

pots/healthstone are in case the warlock uses his soulstone (or you bres) too quickly after the first death and the link kills him before you can bite again - have him wait a bit, tell him when to res, use timers or whatever. Ideally he shouldn't need them..

This guide is for the minimum number of players, it is easier if you can find 2 friends (total of 3) to come down, but in that case, have one of them be a healer, and have him not heal you the entire time, stop healing on those you bite, and keep the bres flowing, recommended you go tank spec to keep aggro. No bres required if you have 3 friends (total of 4), but the chances of one of them dying prematurely goes up if you do not bring a healer.

I did it today on 25 heroic. I will explain how it happened, maybe someone will find this experience helpful.

Group setup was: Paladin (me), Druid and Warlock (only level 92).

The Druid and Warlock stood near the stairs while I attacked the boss a little bit, until I was bitten. (shown as a 60 seconds debuff) When this debuff reached 0 I bit the Warlock who had a soulstone on him. And the debuff started again at 60. At around 10 seconds the Warlock revived himself and I bit him again. Then he died. After that I just had to wait until the debuff was at 0 again and I bit the Druid. Both of us then just nuked the boss down and the quest was done.

During this fight I had to constantly heal the Warlock, probably because of his low ilvl. I had to heal myself only a couple of times. After the initial few attacks on the boss I turned around to not hit him anymore accidentally.

We had 2 fails, the first one because the Warlock revived himself too soon, he then took so much damage that I couldn't heal that much as a protection Paladin. (Maybe because he was only level 92, it is probably doable with level 100, but I still recommend to just wait a bit with reviving if you don't have 3 other people.)

The second fail happened because the druid was bitten first from the boss and not me. I'm not really sure why it happened, (he didn't attack and stood far away) but maybe I just didn't get enough threat at the start.

To wipe on this boss you can just wait until the debuff expires, you will then get mind controlled and attack your teammates, after all not mind controlled players are dead you will also die and spawn at the graveyard. I don't think you can run away, because there seems to be a wall blocking the exit to the boss area.

Me (Blood DK), Monk and a Shaman.
Shaman took off all armour to die faster before encounter.

First bite is from the Queen to myself.
Second bite was from me to the shaman, who then died.
Third bite went from me to the monk.
Shaman revived just before the hunger was on 10 seconds.
Fourth bite was from me to the shaman.
Then we nuked the boss down.
Complete!

Two-mannable in 6.2.3 with death knight and a sacrificial shaman (in my case a 100 blood DK and a 90 resto shaman).

1. DK initiates, after making sure Shadow's Edge is equipped, to get the first stack.
2. Shaman keeps herself alive until the DK is able to bite her for the second stack. The shaman then dies.
3. When the DK is turned for a second time, the shaman reincarnates to get bitten once more for the third stack. It's important to time it so that the shaman doesn't get hit by bloodbolt whirl as soon as she reincarnates. We were able to time it where bloodbolt whirl ended right in the seven second window. Once bitten, the shaman dies again.
4. Shortly before the DK is turned for a third time he gets a combat rez out on the shaman. The shaman waits until the DK actually transforms to accept it. The DK then bites the shaman for the fourth stack and kills Lana'thel to complete the quest.

Might take a few tries to get the timing down but it does work. Good luck.

Did this a few times with 3 people. You need a minimum of 2 people in addition to yourself; if none of them have a battle rez then you need 4 since you have to bite 3 vampires. How I did it on DK was run in, aggro boss get blood mirror, bite first person. They they go stand in the purple fire and die, used my DK bres to have two non-vampires up. Unlike the others, there is no buff, the stacks vanish when they reach 4, and the boss is safe to kill.

Another run with a druid heals worked the same. Long as one of the 3 people present can res (easy if you're doing it on a DK), you need 2 people to help you, or three without a bres.

If anyone is doing this now (end of WoD) then try and take two people, with one of them being a Druid, Shaman or Warlock.

We messed it up a few times so our original plan of using the Warlock's Soulstone went out the window due to it's cooldown but the third person happened to by luck be a druid, so had Rebirth. The issue we were having was that the Warlock was talented into Soul Leech (I think it's called) which is basically a massive shield which was screwing up their ability to commit suicide. Once they swapped that out it got very easy.

So the Druid and Lock stood by the stairs, while I stood on the bosses platform, throwing her the odd auto attack and taunt. When she bit me, I kept an eye on the debuff (it's a minute long debuff and once it runs out, you get a short time to bite someone) making a beeline for the portal/gate the Lock had dropped to get me to them. Bit them, they commited suicide using their burning rush/the shadow pools on the ground and were then Rebirthed by the druid.

Now I lost track, as everything happened very quickly here but because no one else attacked the boss, I was just getting all the bites without any effort. By the time the Lock was alive again, I was able to bite them again. Then I could bite the druid.

I will say that as a Fury Warrior with a mix of Baleful and normal Hellfire gear, I still was very close to dead by the time we downed the boss. If not for the healthstone I had, I would have died between empowering Shadowmourne and killing the boss. So basically, if you can find a druid, Shammy or lock you'll only need 2 people (plus yourself), and be mindful of your own health towards the end.

Once you work it out, it's much simpler than it seems now.

Just helped a friend complete this today. There is currently a bug that the Thirst Quenched buff will *not* show up after the 4th stack of gushing wound. Gushing wound will still disappear.

Luckily, we decided to just go for the kill after the 3rd bite anyways and he got the quest completed. So if you are not seeing the buff after gushing wound falls off, just kill her anyways.

Quest is made more challenging as of my attempt today, 9/13/16.

Attempted with DK and lock both 101. Soul Stone and Raise Ally are on linked CD set at 45 min during fight only. Reset to normal duration outside of fight. So it requires another body to bite.
Its worth noting that locks should remove Demon Skin talent too, as regen will outperform most damage against them and make their deaths harder.

Ran this at 110 on my Holy Paladin with a Shaman friend and a Mage, we had issues actually getting the Shaman to die so that I could bite them again post-ankh. The way we eventually did it was have the shaman remove all of his gear, and when blood link was cast I linked onto him after he'd been bitten, then spammed Light of the Martyr on our other friend, it split the damage between us both and killed him pretty quickly due to not having gear.

Figured I'd post on here for other people who don't have access to a lock/DK and are at 110!

DON'T have a Monk in your group (and mind controlled), as he will use Paralysis which will remove the debuff that you have to stack (as it is a DoT).
We didn't notice it until I checked a recording of our try. Don't waste hours on this as we did... :/

And to confirm this once again: you can do it with just 2 other people by battle-rezzing one of them.

I found it confusing to piece together how everything works in 2017 reading comments here, so here is an updated 2017 tl;dr / quick guide based on having done it today:

1. The person on the quest is the tank. They/you must equip the Shadow Edge. Taunt the boss, and maybe hit it very lightly.

2. The other 2-3 players stand there doing absolutely nothing, not pressing a single button.

3. You, the Shadow Edge user, will get the 1 minute debuff that turns you into a vampire upon finishing ticking down.

4. You get an ability when you become a vampire. Use it to bite one of the players you brought with you. You will get the debuff again soon after. You should see your Gushing Wound gain another stack when you use the bite.

5. You cannot bite another vampire, and biting your friend has made them into one. As such, the player you bit continues to stand there until they die after becoming a vampire, and does not bite any one. If they can res themselves/someone in your party can res them, they may do so, so long as they don't do any actions that generate threat that would risk pulling the boss off of you. If you have a battle res/they are a Shaman, this means you only need to bring along 2 friends.

6. Bite 3 times (so, bite once more after your Gushing Wounds stack is at 3) and there will be a special graphic around you that explodes, and your Gushing Wound stacks will be gone. You won't see any other indication that you've completed the quest, and do not get a 6 minute buff--the buff mentioned in other posts is invisible as of 2017. Kill the boss at this point, and the quest will complete.

Notes:
-You will not get Gushing Wound if you are alone.
-The vampire state is not a Mind Control, so you cannot cheat it with things like Stackable Stags that turn hostile when Mind Controlled. You need other players.
-Many CC abilities will cause you to lose Gushing Wound stacks if you are tageted by them when an ally is mind controlled. To prevent this, either bring classes without these incapacitating CCs (Monks, Rogues) or bite that player first and kill them when they become mind controlled.
-If you fail or mess up somehow, have everyone stand there until they die via becoming vampires and not biting anyone. The purple fire can sometimes help, but is very slow in 2017 even if you remove all of your gear.

Really simple to do with a 110 DK and a 110 Shaman. Just have to make sure that both of you are naked (apart from the DK with the weapon). It helps if the DK takes the damage from the boss since it seems to kill the shaman faster.

DK bite's shaman, shaman dies.
DK's battle rez's Shaman.
DK bite's shaman, shaman dies.
Shaman uses Self-Rez.
DK bites Shaman a third time and after that just kill boss.

I did it this way:

1. I got a shaman to come with me.
2. He died outside of the raid and got Resurrection Sickness, which "Decreases all attributes by 75% and all damage caused by 75%. You are currently worth no honor points to the enemy"
3. Have him/her unequip all of his/her gear.
4. Enter raid, start boss.
5. Have shaman heal him/herself if he takes too much dmg. (Keep his health at around 50-60% hp)
6. Bite, Shaman reincarnate, bite again, you ress, bite again and kill boss.
7. Quest completed.

I think you can do this with more players as well if you are not a Death Knight. Resurrection Sickness just really helps when you are at lvl 110 and cant take enough damage to die before the next bite.

As 7.3.5 this was not doable with just two players. We were Death knight and Warlock. As soon as we used one of resses, other res was on 45 min cd ( Raise Ally or Soulstone) and we weren't able to do it with just two players.

We did it as Paladin / Warlock / Death knight
Paladin and Warlock (myself) removed all repairable gear.
Death knight bitten Paladin > Paladin turned - Warlock killed Paladin as demonology - imps from Hand of Gul'dan almost killed Boss. She was at 2%
Death knight bitten Warlock with Soulstone> Warlock used Life tap + Burning rush and died and ressed 1 second before another bite.
Death knight bitten Warlock again > Warlock used Life tap+ Burning rush and died
Death knight didn't have anything showed as people mentioned in comments, killed Blood Queen Lana'thel and finished quest.

Just a friendly warning. Do not bring a Demon Hunter friend to do the Blood Infusion. If they get mind controlled and cast Imprison on you. The debuffs will disappear and you'll not get credit for the quest.

Having just done this with a friend, there's no need for more than one extra person if you've got a Shaman friend - even if you're a Paladin like I am and thus don't have a brez. This is thanks to the Ancestral Protection Totem talent resto gets. They can drop the totem before they die the first time, and just Reincarnate the second time. Made things a lot simpler since I only play the game actively with one other friend.

I can confirm that pre BFA patch, you can do this with 2 people. I did it on my Paladin and used another Shammy from a friend. He used his Ancestral Protection Totem, then I bit him, he ressed. I bit him again and he used Reincarnate. I bit him the 3rd time and then killed the Bloodqueen. Got the quest done finally!

Official instructions from a GM regarding this quest per 7.3.5:

> The infuser cannot gain the first Essence of the Blood Queen if they are still under the effects of blood mirror.
> Always make sure the infuser has Shadow's Edge equipped otherwise the infusion will be wasted.
> If you are a Paladin, don't use spell Divine Shield or blessing of protection. This will clear your debuffs and you will fail the quest.
> You must repeat the process of biting until Gushing Wound stacks to 4 and is replaced with Thirst Quenched.

With those are of the way, here is the rundown:
Stack your dps and healers at the back of the room near the stairs and tell them only to stand there, doing nothing until your call/when the infuser has finished gaining the first Essence of the Blood Queen

You will need 3 players to make the situation as easy as possible, One to tank the boss, The infuser to gain gushing wound from Blood Mirror (which is gained when stacking on the tank) and another player preferably an Off-Tank to soak blood mirror

The tank runs in to the boss, the infuser stacks on the tank and gains blood mirror whilst your 3rd player stands behind the boss. As soon as Gushing Wound is gained by the infuser from blood mirror, the 3rd player (off-tank) switches places so that the infuser can dps the boss from behind. This is ideal because the player with the largest amount of threat who isnt the tank or under the effects of blood mirror gains the first Essence of the Blood Queen from the Blood Queen which will effectively cut the infusion by a minute.

The healer's and dps should still be standing at the back of the room until the infuser gain's the first bite. Healer's should not be healing until he gains the first bite in order for no one to gain threat but the 3 prior players. The rest of the fight is relatively easy as long as the infuser bites pre-assigned players or any players surrounding him.

For anyone trying to do using the two player strat using a shaman as second character: Before starting the encounter, have the shaman die and then ressurect using the spirit healer, so they get Resurrection Sickness.

Currently, even with no gear on either characters (only the weapon on the character doing the quest), it is realy difficult to get the shaman to die fast enough.
The help pool and damage reduction even with no gear is just too much to burn through before both characters are mind controlled.

But with resurrection sickness, the shamans health pool and damage reduction is lowered enough for this to not be a problem.

In fact, beware that the shaman will take so much damage they will have to heal quite a bit to not die to fast (for anyone doing this solo using two accounts).

Thought I'd share a guide with what I've learned while farming for Shadowmourne at level 80.

The Sacred and the Corrupt

To get friendly rank with The Ashen Verdict, you need to kill all the trash and bosses up to and including Deathbringer Saurfang (you don't have to kill all the trash around the outer spire to get to the gunship).
25 Primordial Saronite are today quite cheap and can be bought off the AH without much gold spent.
Next, if you kill only Festergut and Rotface for the bloods while leaving the other bosses and trash up, you can do the next quest which requires you to kill 50 enemies and every Infusion quest plus have a chance for one Shadowfrost Shard from The Lich King in one lockout. This minimizes the time you have to spend to finish Shadowmourne slightly.

A Feast of Souls

There are more than enough trash and bosses to get this quest done in your current lockout you used to collect the reputation and bloods. If you killed the trash to get to Festergut and Rotface, don't worry, there are about 70-80 more enemies in the frost and blood quarters. Kill only the Blood Council among bosses.
The debuff on enemies which marks them to be consumed and counted for the quest will not be applied if you one shot trash. You must therefore remove all your gear except for Shadow's Edge, and use your lowest damaging abilities such as Death and Decay, or Consecration, so that the actual debuff on the trash is applied and so that you can gain progress towards completing the quest.

Unholy Infusion

Assemble a group with 2-3 more people (if you have 2 party members instead of 3, at least one of them need to have a combat ress). Personally I recommend to bring a (low level if possible) Warlock, I will explain why in the Blood Infusion section.
Tell your group to not damage the boss, they should only keep the aggro from you.
Before you click the table to become an abomination, wait until 4 of the slime pools have spawned. This is because the abomination's Mutated Transformation damage either ticks a percentage of the player's health, or it scales with the level of the player that use the table. It will easily kill lower level players, and can actually kill a level 80 as well.
Click the table to become an abomination.
Use the number 3 ability on your new actionbar to consume the slime pools when they spawn.
If the ability on your new actionbar is grey, move on to a new slime pool and it will be usable again.
When your energy bar to the right has reached 100, click the Shadow's Edge icon. When the cast is completed you are given a new buff and you can now kill the boss. To make the giant die, you may need to stand in the slime pools. You can also be dispelled by a Priest or Paladin due to the disease debuff which will remove the abomination.

Blood Infusion

This quest is why you need to have at least 2 or 3 more players in order to complete it. To prevent one-shotting the boss, remove all your gear except for Shadow's Edge and a few armor pieces, only so that you can kill the mind controlled people later, do not use any trinkets that has AoE procs or they can one-shot the boss.
Tell the other players to remove all their gear as well so that you and another player can kill them when they get mind controlled. Make sure that you do not use any AoE abilities while killing mind controlled people, or you can kill the boss. Tell your group to once again not to damage the boss and not to bite anyone, just let their timer expire and that they should become mind controlled after 1 minute.
Having at least one Warlock in the group allows them to use Burning Rush and lose health and be near death until they become mind controlled, then it's easier for you and the others in the group to kill the Warlock(s).
You start with for example one Death and Decay or Consecration so that you get the aggro, kite her out of it so that you don't kill her. After a short time you get the debuff which increases your damage and makes you able to bite other players. After 1 minute click the only ability on your new action bar while targeting a player to bite them.
When a player dies after you kill them, combat ress them if possible.
Bite non-bitten players 3 times and then kill the boss.

Frost Infusion

From now on you do not need the help from other players to finish any more quests for Shadowmourne, the rest is done solo.
As easy as the quest description says, simply stand in front of Sindragosa after four breaths have been soaked. Once the stacking debuff goes away you can kill the boss.

The Splintered Throne

This is the part of the Shadowmourne quest line which is the most drawn out. You simply kill all the Icecrown Citadel bosses every week in 25 man Normal or 25 man Heroic until you have collected 50 Shadowfrost Shard. If you saved The Lich King in your first lockout, you have a chance to get one additional shard. The drop chance for Shadowfrost Shards are higher in 25 player Heroic than in 25 player normal.

The Lich King's Last Stand

Kill The Lich King to get a Sealed Chest. Turn it in at Darion and you are given 5 items you can turn in to various NPCs at starting area to the raid.
You will be rewarded with: Reins of the Crimson Deathcharger, Tabard of the Lightbringer, Muradin's Favor, Sylvanas' Music Box and Jaina's Locket.

This quest can now be done solo as long as you have the right set up according to a Youtube video. I am not allowed to post links so just google "Blood Infusion Solo Guide HiLittle"

I tried it myself and it completely worked! But there are a few things I want to point out that the video did not cover in detail.

1) You have to be able to switch between characters very quickly. The comments for the video recommend WoW is loaded onto an SSD. This is something I had before I even attempted this trick so I not sure if it will work with just a HHD.

2) If you notice a lot of slow down during the WoW login process, you will need to delete your cache and WTF folders and disable all your add ons. Being able to login and switch between characters quickly is paramount or else this trick will not work.

3) You don't have a lot of time positioning your alts right in front of the boss for the fight. If you leave a character too long without logging in, he will be placed back at the entrance of the raid. I would log on to my main and position him, log onto my 1st alt and position him, log onto my 2nd alt and position him. I always use Alt F4 in between switches. Don't use the exit game command that makes you wait 20 seconds. That's time you cannot afford.

It took me around 10 attempts before I executed perfectly. My initial attempts were failing due to slow logins and switching between characters. My main character would be dead by the time I could switch back to him but following the points I noted plus some practical experience, the trick was very easy to pull off.

Tried doing it today with 2 friends, Blood-Queen seems to refuse to bite anyone during the encounter and just happily casts Swarming Shadows etc. absent her bite.

I came in today with a lvl 120 Shaman friend to do the Shaman strategy and it was a major fail because even with NO gear *AND* rez sickness, she barely did any damage to him, so he couldn't die fast enough to make it work. It may still work with a much lower level Shaman.

Found a very easy way to 2 man this in 8.2.5.

THE SETUP
- you will need your main with Shadow's Edge equiped and a friend with 3 characters parked outside of the raid who are all high enough level to zone in.
- have your main clear all the way to the blood queen and bring a friend.
- have your friend stand in front of the blood queen and alt f4
- friend needs to then log in on an alt, get invited to the party and run inside and park where they left their first character and once again alt f4.
- friend logs onto a third character, gets invited to the party and runs inside to the blood queen where you are waiting.

THE FIGHT
- at this point you can begin the encounter. I damaged blood queen to about half hp while my friend sat back and did absolutely nothing.
- wait for the bite phase and quickly bite your friend.
- friend needs to quickly alt f4 and log back onto one of the other characters they have parked at the fight.
- now wait for the next bite phase and bite the second character (for me, the first character bitten disappeared before mind control kicked in)
- friend for that last time needs to alt f4 and log back onto the remaining unbitten character parked at the fight.
- now wait for the next bite phase and give the last character a good chomp
- at this point if you should be clear to kill the blood queen and turn in the quest back at the start of the zone.

YOU DID IT! (some more info)
- I did this as a level 120 ret pally, my friends alts were a 120 demon hunter, a 120 shaman, and a 91 death knight.
- if something goes wrong during the fight, just wait and after 1 phase where nobody can bite you will die and can restart the encounter, but if this happens have your friend alt f4 back to all 3 of their characters to make sure they are alive and in position before starting the encounter.

This is what i did to solo this with not much trouble at all.
1. Disabled all my addons, i just renamed my addon folder, you can just change it back after.
2. Invited 3 of my alts to the same party as my main with Shadow's Edge
3. Cleared all the way to Blood-Queen Lana'thel left my main in the center of the room
4. Logged in to my my 3 alts 1 by 1 and logged them out in the center of the room
5. Logged back on my main, taunted the boss and did 1 auto attack (not sure if that matters)
6. Right after that auto attack i hit alt+f4
7. Started the game again and logged in to alt No1
8. As soon as i got logged in on alt No1 i hit alt+f4
9. Logged back on my main, had to wait to get the buff so i could bite, did the bite and hit alt+f4 right after
10. Logged alt No2, alt+f4 as soon as i got logget in
11. Logged back on my main, had to wait again for the buff to bite, alt+f4
12. Logged alt No3, alt+f4
13. Back to my main, bite and killed the boss.
14. Profit

I tested this a couple of times with my addons, but i could not do it, got killed.
With all my addons disabled it felt like i had all the time in the world, had to wait for the buff instead of being killed.
It took me many years to finish this one, but now when the 8.3 patch is on the horison i wanted to finish it.
I hope this can help someone, because i have tested it before with the help of videos and guides but couldent manage to get it done.

Nobody wants to run older content. Been trying for idk how many years to get a group for this and i just waste time in group finder. Current content = Group up, older content is for giggles. I apparently have terrible luck.

It doesn't make any sense to me why a quest line this old would still require more than a solo person. You're after a weapon, that only you will get afterall. If you got a ton of friends that will help you, then thats good for you. I don't. So i'm forced to miss older achievements because I didn't do them during current content....?

I'd like to point out that Alt-Switching is NOT Solo, and for whatever reason when I try to do the alt method, i do not end up in the same raid as my alt or the character DCs and exits the instance. Maybe my connection isn't fast enough? All addons disabled. Not quite sure what else to do besides be really miffed at missing out on OLD CONTENT.

I've been on this quest for years! I didn't make it finish it while wrath of Litch king so I stored it in my quest log hoping to find a group to help me someday. Then i saw those solo guides and got happy! Sadly though, I make my own premade group with 3 alts, I enter the raid, engage the boss with my main, log in with my alt and the boss is not engaged, some mobs are still up, I see the dot of my main on the map, but looks like we are on different raids. I don't know how you guys made it with no problem

For some reason i've done everything right (i'm certain) as a Death Knight and didnt get the quest to be complated. I bit my first demon hunter friend (lets call him A) after that i ressed him, and then i bit another of my demon hunter friend (lets call him B), after that i bit my first friend (A) again and then i killed the boss. And quest was not complated i have no idea why. And its pissing me off that i wasted 3 weeks to this dumb quest and i still get to finish this dumbass quest and farm items...

What did I do wrong ?

I tried on my paladin (lvl 46 with heritage)
I bringed 3 of my alt, a warrior, shaman and DH.

Rather than alt-tabing to launch a new wow every time via battle.net, I just launched 2 wow, one for the main with the quest (the paladin), the other for alts and just copied my password. And everytime I just did : alt+tab, ctrl+v, then connect on alt, alt-tab, ctrl+v, connect with main and bite alt 1 etc etc with alt2 and alt3 .

Without addon it took me 22 secondes to do : main => alt => main again.
I tried it before the fight to be sure everythings work and I was able to see all of my characters.

Soloing didn't work for me, because after trying to log into my 2nd alt, I would get insta-DC'd. Trying to duo with a shaman also didn't work, because after the first bite, me AND the shaman would get the hungry debuff, meaning neither of us could bite, so we'd both die

Still works 9.0.2 but it was super annoying and tedious to do solo. Premade unlocks at 50 so I had to level 3 alts to that first. Then the premade group is so annoying to do. Having to for all 3 alts is super tedious. In addition, the group leader changes if my main is offline for too long so my main keeps being in different phases. Which means I have to remake the group then rerun to the boss for like 4 or 5 times. Eventually I managed to make it work by parking my alts right in front of ICC, running to the boss, and logging onto my main in between each alt. However, the group lead still transferred while I was running my third alt even tho I've logged on to my main before. But it still worked cus the lead transfer happened while my last alt was already in the raid? I then just followed Zamino's steps and it worked.

Got it to work today solo, for anyone trying it remember to make your first alt nude if trying with 3 alts as they might wipe your team of alts whilst mind controlled, must of spent over 2hrs being confused what was causing the wipe, best to sanity check what your doing instead of mindlessly running it and failing constantly

Works flawlessly with your own alts if done properly. Here is what worked for me:

Preparation

Your main and your three alts all need to be over level 50 to access the Premade Groups finder in Group Finder.
Don't use healer alts - or if you do, change them out of healing spec. On my first try used a healer alt as my first alt (thinking he wouldn't annihilate my other alts) - but my healer alt got crazy buffed by the boss and outhealed her over my dps. I then got mind controlled because I didn't kill her quickly enough and wiped, so had to corpse run 4 times. I recommend putting your alts in tank specs to mitigate their dps against your other alts, and avoiding healing specs. Unequip your first two alts gear to minimise their dps, and keep your last alt equipped to withstand the others' dps.
I found it helpful to re-order my login page, putting my main at the top and the three alts just underneath in order, so I knew instantly which one I was logging next.
Make sure no addons will load on any char - I needed these extra seconds in the fight. Rather than disable the addons manually on each alt like I did, the easiest way is just to rename your Addon folder in Windows Explorer as Zamino says below - my addons were located in C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft\_retail_\Interface\Addons - just rename the 'Addons' folder to something else until after the fight to keep your addons setup intact.
Name your Premade Group something innocuous like "xyz" rather than "Blood Infusion" if you don't want randoms whispering you like I had as a result, asking to try and join so they do it in your group (which isn't really feasible)
Log each alt and travel to ICC on them while applying to your main's group - you have 5 minutes from applying to your Premade Group to log back into your main to accept your alts in the group - you then need to relog your alt again to accept your main's invitation.
Clear to Blood-Queen Lana'thel on whichever char you want to collect The Ashen Verdict rep on. Leave each alt inside her room.
Log your main after positioning your three alts.

The Fight

Make sure Shadow's Edge is equipped and strike Blood-Queen Lana'thel with it. Immediately hit Alt+F4.
Log your first alt - then hit Alt+F4 as soon as you're in the boss fight.
Log your main, wait until you are able to bite your alt. Bite asap and hit Alt+F4.
Log your second alt - hit Alt+F4 as soon as you're in the boss fight.
Log your main, wait until you are able to bite your alt. Bite asap and hit Alt+F4.
Log your third alt - hit Alt+F4 as soon as you're in the boss fight.
Log your main, wait until you are able to bite your last alt. Bite your alt and nuke the boss.
Profit!

I solo'd this as of Feb 2021 shortly after Shadowlands launched on my lvl 50 fury warrior. I used the strategy described elsewhere in the comments thread where you alt-f4 your way through alts and bite them, it worked like a charm, but did take a little practice.

Getting my alts in the same raid was more of a pain than I expected.

Get everyone just outside ICC
Create a raid finder group on your main, don't forget to set to ICC 25 Normal
Go through the sign up / invite / accept process for all characters
Walk your main into ICC, then alt-f4
Walk your alts one by one into ICC. You should be able to see the previous character standing there.

That'll ensure all of your characters are in the same instance. Then, clear up to the boss with your main and follow with your alts.

For the actual fight, I stacked all my characters on the center of the circle, then pulled the boss (with my main) to the center as well. This helped make sure the main was furthest away and therefore got the debuff / vampire bite mechanic.

Alt-f4 as soon as the boss is in place, log into alt-1, alt-f4, log into main, wait for bite, bite. alt-f4, rinse and repeat for other alts.

Once you bite everyone, kill the boss. Job's done.

Not sure if this was a bug, but I did not trigger the vamp debuff on my alt.

I was using my main DK and alt shaman using the "alt+f4 relog" method between them. Before the first bite, my shaman was still "logged in" and did not get a bitten debuff. This allowed me to get 2 stacks. I bit him again on my main and let him die. Reincarnated on shaman and logged over for final bite.

Following Zamino's guide works flawlessly if you have 3 alts.

I had the first 2 birthday suited, and the last was geared with a shield. I used a Monk, Hunter, and Warrior, in that order. I kept them separated, one on each spire of the artwork at the center, so when I logged back on I could easily see and target them. I did leave my main geared, but had Shadow's Edge equipped.

It is imperative that you disable your addons to decrease the load times. Don't worry if character selection takes a bit, I actually had close the client and relaunch, that's how much time disabling them gives you.

Just one word of advice, DON'T do what I did. Complete the previous part of the chain, but forget to turn it in. Believe it or not, Old Lichie King will do his little whisper and you'll think you've done good, but don't work unless you are on that particular part of the chain...I feel like a putz.

Did this today (22nd May 2021) with help of 3 friends (Paladin, Shaman, Mage).

First attempt failed (I guess because was not in Tank Spec) and did not get the debuff.

Second attempt I got the debuff, did the 3 bites but was not able to kill the boss because I was wearing no gear.

Third attempt I started fully geared (ilvl 145), got the debuff, did the 3 bites and killed the boss, quest objective done.

All in all with a little learning phase of 10-15 minutes the final and succesfull attempt took about 4-5 minutes.

It is possible in 9.1.5. I did it today (12.12.2021). I used @Zamino's perfect approach (thank you for sharing man). But I had some difficulties which I will share here. My main here is DK, and I picked 50lvl DH, 51 Warlock, and 52 Holy priest (belive me, change spec, holy will outheal boss easily - so don't pick healer specialization). I tried 2 times, but couldn't manage to get third bite, the third alt will just die before bite pops up as spell. So what worked?

- My main (DK) only equipped with Shadow's Edge and nothing more.
- Two Alts (doesn't really matter which ones but in my case Warlock and Priest) didn't have any items.
- Third alt had to have like 2-3 items to survive (I had 3 items equipped, each item had ~30-40ilvl)
- Split them across room. One alt on the right side - not on the edge of the circle but literally at the end of the room on the right side. Put one on the left, and one in the south pole of the room. Your main should be at center of the room (center of circle). Hope it helps!

I followed the instructions to solo this quest and it worked perfectly then I tried on an alt and no matter what I did, the party would be dead when I logged on my main to get the 3rd bite off.

Okay so I JUST tried this. Still work.

If you log your main and don't see your alts, you're not in the same instance. YOU NEED TO GO OUTSIDE WITH YOUR MAIN AND GET BACK INTO ICC (while your alts are inside).
If you get bitten, you have something like 40-50 seconds to bite your alt or you die. I was lucky, I had to wait for the bite each time.

I used main Paladin 51 (fully gear), alt warlock 60 (naked), alt druid 51 (naked), alt frost mage 51 (naked).
I left my alts in separated corners of the room and my main in the center. Once they were in place, I taunted the boss and Alt+F4.
Logged the mage, Alf+f4. Logged back to paladin, waited for the bite, bite the mage. Alt+F4.
Logged the druid, Alt+f4. Logged back paladin, waited for the bite (while staying in the center of the room), bite the druid. Alt+F4.
Logged warlock, Alt+f4. Logged back paladin, waited for the bite. Bite the warlock. Alt+F4.
Logged back paladin, all alts were MC but I just bursted the boss and got the quest.

As others have mentioned, make sure you dont have any reflect damage in your talents / gear (heart of azeroth) / soulbind etc. I didnt remove any of my gear (ilvl 243) and the talent Holy Shield ended up reflecting 6m damage and killing the boss while I was waiting to get all 3 bites in.

Okay I have tried each of the ways even from AZ (HeelvsBabyface ) and I took one part from the ALT F4 group having 3 accounts and you want 3 account (Recruit a Friend perks) and failed each time due to no one dying. So this is how I did it with 3 accounts that worked after failing 10 times in one week and have been playing since June 2005. You will still need 4 toons total.

1) Set ICC to 25 Normal and your main with Shadow's Edge equipped after you get up to Blood Queen from upper spire just go straight across bridge and clear Blood Queen area. Run back out of instance and log into your other accounts and if you have 2 monitors like I do then window them in settings and put them on other monitor. You will get the warning about entering a new instance and parts have been cleared just click okay.
2) Normal 25 and have all 3 account toons for me 54 UD Warrior (don't ask) 50 Lock (Naked) Account 3 , 46 Druid (Naked) Account 2, 34 Paly fully Geared account 2.
3) I brought in a 34 Paly fully geared (Heirlooms) apart of account 2 (should be alt account with Druid or Shaman and not Lock with stone) and put him in the same place as Druid.
4) I did separate them where Lock was at 3 o'clock (Off of Circle) and Druid was @ bottom of steps before Purple wall. Then logged him out and brought pally in at same spot and logged him out and brought back in 46 Druid all 3 were apart of party. So 4 party members.
5) Now during the fight before I had 10sec left I ran to Lock and once bite was up I bit Lock (@ 1 sec and bit) and then ran to platform where Queen stands and kept taunt up.
6) Just before second bite was at 10 sec I ran to Druid on stairs and waited til 1 sec again and bit Druid.
7) now the fun part and Lock was mind controlled but I stayed where Druid was since he is not dying as he should be like Lock I hit Alt F4 and brought in my Paly @ the 30sec count down to next bite which took 25sec and when he came in he had less than 10sec for 3rd bite and bit him @ 1 Sec then killed the Queen and completed quest. Turned it in and had to go for the Frost fun and 50 shards after that.

P.S. I hope this helps if you have Multi accounts and it frustrated me for years and I am slow.

My question is why hasn't blizzard simply changed the quest or removed it for the ones trying to get shadowmourne if their also trying to get the mount and music box. Seems to be extremely tedious to either play musical chairs with alts to get the stacks needed, with the latter being getting a group together that's willing to stand there for the entire fight.

After a few tries on my own my experience hasn't been good to say the least. At some point every time loading back on my paladin (Toon doing the quest) would result in being stuck on the loading screen despite not having any addons installed, game on an SSD and a good computer.

I highly suggest you bring a friend along, it's easily doable with only 2 players. One of the player "pre pulls" an alt by logging onto it and ALT+F4 before loging on the main toon. Player 2 should either be Shaman with an Ankh or have a Soulstone on them. Start off by biting the pre-pulled alt before they get disconnected, then bite your friend, have them die and bite them again.

I know not everyone may have a friend at all or one willing to come along for this but it really reduces the amount of headache, bugs or overall issues than can arise significantly. I cannot emphasize enough how much better the trouble of finding someone willing to help is compared to the trouble of trying to do this alone.

Then solo alt swap method still works in dragonflight 10.00
I recommend bringin your main as lvl 70 and two alts as lvl 70 and keeping the gear on those 3.
Then bring a lvl 60 alt and remove his gear. The lvl 60 alt is the one you want to bite first otherwise your party will be be dead while logging in for the last bite.
Failed it 2 times before i got it with the correct gear removal strat.

Just did this solo! It wasn't that bad at all. The biggest issue I had was that I forgot to log back onto my alts to accept my main's invitations lol. Also! Remember to turn off chromie time if you have any characters under 60 (I forgot to do that lol). I had my character with the quest (lvl 60 warrior), and three naked alts (lvl 60 mage, lvl 60 hunter, lvl 50 rogue). Here's what I did:

1) cleared up to the blood queen on warrior. LEFT ICC. created lfg group. (made sure I had shadow's edge equipped)
2) logged onto mage, found group. Joined. Logged into warrior, accepted request. Logged back to mage to accept invite.
3) Repeated step 2 for my hunter and rogue.
4. Moved everyone in front of the boss. Moved rogue last (whoever is last will still be there when you move to the next character. lvl 50 rogue is there to take the mind control for the lvl 60s)
5) Logged onto warrior. TRIPLE-CHECKED SHADOW'S EDGE WAS EQUIPPED. Taunted, threw weapon, whatever. Rogue is DC'd but I can still see her nearby. Waited around for 60 seconds as the debuff ticked down. Turned into vampire, bit rogue, ALT F4.
6) Logged onto mage. Alt f4. Logged onto warrior. Wait around a bit until I can bite her. Once I do, Alt f4.
7) Logged onto hunter. Alt f4. Logged onto warrior. Wait around a bit until I can bite her.
7. Once I know all three alts have been bitten, and the blood queen has the shadow's edge status, down the boss.

I had the quest tracked, so I immediately knew it worked when it said to return to mograine. Kind of stressful setup, but pretty easy in the end. Good luck!

Main > Alt (to be in fight) > Main to do the 1st bite > 2nd alt (to be in fight) > Main to do the 2nd bite > 3rd alt (to be in fight) > Main to do the 3rd bite > Kill it !

A quicker way to switch between alts if soloing:

Play WoW in windowed mode and place the Blizzard launcher so that the Play button is just to the side of the WoW window's upper-right corner. When you need to switch characters just close the WoW window like you would any other program: with the X in the upper-right corner. Then click Play on the launcher right next to it.

I found it to be much faster than alt-F4ing.

This does still work as of Dragonflight 10.1.5. Completed it as the other comments below stated solo. I used my main and 3 alts that were all level 70. The main was in full gear, the 3 alts were naked. If you use an Evoker make them last. I had a druid first, and a DH second, and an Evoker last.

When you initially pull, I used hand of reckoning and not an auto-attack. Sometimes an auto-attack with all gear on might crit and 1-shot the boss. Make sure all reactionary effects / trinkets are also OFF.

I had to disable all addons, and adjust the game to windowed mode as it loaded the game quickest that way.

I failed at this one time but let my characters all die instead killing the boss so I could try again. It took a lot of time to setup, but went smoothly.

Do the windowed mode (Options/Graphics/Windowed and open two wow clients) and just swap windows (clicking reconnect windows). Do not do alt + f4 - it is slow. With windowed mode, I was able to log all mine 4 chars (main + 3 alts) and see them all at once. How fast this way was.

also remove any proc talents on dmg or trinket. I had by mistake kill boss by trinket proc.

IMPORTANT INFO:
I wanted to try the Alt F4 trick and logging in with other characters, only to find out that my horde characters cannot see the listed party (my dk on the quest is alliance and I only have one more alliance character), this is because ICC is one of the few raids that cannot be done cross-faction because of that gunship battle. Eventually some kind-hearted people joined my party and we manage to do it.

In DragonFlight using 2 accounts method
1) Bring main and 3 alts (on second account) up to Blood queen, log into them one at a time and move their asses to the middle circle of the room
3) have 3 Windows opened for the 3 alts, keep 1 alt logged in
4) ensure main has Shadow's Edge equipped, and all characters don't have any gear that can cause dots
5) face pull boss and wait until you get Essence of the blood queen, wait for its 1min CD to finish and then bite Alt 1
6) reconnect onto Alt 2, get Essence of the blood queen, wait 1min, bite Alt 2 and recieve Gushing Wound (2)
7) reconnect onto Alt 3, get Essence of the blood queen, wait 1min, bite Alt 3 and recieve Gushing Wound (3)
8) You will have been successful if the Gushing Wound debuff hits +3 stacks and then disappears
9) Kill boss quickly otherwise it'll raid wipe you within 30seconds or so

P.S - Bite no longer kills the target, it does like 3-4dmg, and its completely fine if you see your previous alt still logged in
P.S - Before or after Blood queen, do not kill any other bosses because followup quests require you to kill bosses later on, such as Sindragosa, and then Shard drops from only Heroic mode. Collecting these drops requires up to 10 repeat visits (10weeks) to ICC25.

Warning to Paladins attempting this. Disable your Touch of Light talent before you attempt this. It seemingly proced off the bite (an ability) and killed the boss.
It was either that or some other strange interaction that caused it to proc. Either way, get rid of it.
