This guy is hanging around 31, 80 inside the whelp cave (map: http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=808). I was a lvl 5 paladin and didn't even loose a quarter health fighting him.

Anyone else mad that he didn't tell you BEFORE you went into the cave already to kill the Trolls?

For those without a Coordinate reader or whatnot…

1. The cave entrance is at the bottom of the "Coldridge Valley" map. You can see the landmark on the map and it looks like a typical mining cave entrance.

2. When you enter the cave, just take the left trail..

3. Kill all of the trolls you encounter, otherwise you may find yourself running back via ghost form.

Tips:
-The troll next to Grik'nir the Cold, all of the times I've done this quest, pulls Grik'nir when you attack him or vise-versa.. I would suggest blasting Grik'nir with all you have, looting, and try to kill the other troll.

Just did this quest. Managed to get thoroughly lost. Didn't help that I never had anything to drink, so I was OoM much of the time.

Stay to the left and waltz right in since 3.3 nothing attacks you anymore. Walk up to Grik'nir, kill, loot, walk back out. Sickening easy....way to go Blizzard...why even do the quest...just hand us the xp and not waste our time.

Just did this quest on an 80 going for Ambassador... as such I was paying more attention to the rep than the exp or gold/item rewards, and saw I received 350 Ironforge and 500 Gnomeregan. Came here to see if that was normal or some kind of glitch; I guess that's actually the way it's supposed to be...

Does anyone have any idea why this quest would reward more Gnomeregan rep than Ironforge, especially considering the questgiver is a dwarf? Not a big deal at all; just curious.

Description

Soren did well to send you out on recon. That's some good information you have right there.

Trouble is, this just adds more work for us to do. The trolls, confused as they are right now, still would like to kick the dwarves right out of Coldridge. And I'm certainly not going to let some fiery demon turn our snowy valley into a mountain lake.

The troll leader, his servants, and the fire creature should all be in the cave to the southeast. Take 'em all out.
