There are only 3-4 sharks that spawn at a time. They have at least a 30-60sec spawn timer. And to top it off, the drop rate is under 50% for me now...

So far I have 2 drops out of 5 kills, in 15 minutes.

This does not require level 70 as indicated above.

I was able to get this quest at level 66 on my Rogue. I have not attempted this yet with this character.

Drop rate seemed to be about 15-20% when I did this on my hunter.

This quest needs to be done in order to complete the Convention at the Legerdemain cooking daily in Dalaran.

This may have a cooking level prerequisite or at least require cooking as a current trade skill, as I can't seem to get this quest on my Death Knight, which has no trade skills other than First Aid.

Can't get this at level 59 (Cooking 413-450) as it has a grey "!" so i assume it's level 60.

I am starting to think level 59 is one level too low to start spending hours and hours riding all around Azeroth (and beyond) trying to find obscure Recipes, Plans and Patterns etc... >.<

After picking up the quest, just jump into the lake infant of you, kill 4 sharks and you're done. :)

I managed to do this quest at lvl 58 after the new update, and I didn't get the recipe as a reward, perhaps also because my Cooking skill was below 300 at the time. This might have to be fixed.

Learn Northern Cooking and/or Northern Stew in Northrend

If you are in Northrend (Wrath of the Lich King, WoTLK) and want to learn cooking and/or the recipe Northern Stew do the following.

Each of the trainers in Borean Tundra and Howling Fjord can teach you to cook Northern Stew. All you have to do is finish a short quest where all you have to do is bring 4 Chilled Meat. Buy or farm 4 Chilled Meat. If you are going to farm the meat I give some advice below depending on if you are going to Borean Tundra or Howling Fjord.

Alliance Learn Northern Cooking

You can learn Northern Cooking either in Dalaran, Borean Tundra or Howling Fjord. In Dalaran go to the inn A Hero's Welcome and locate Katherine Lee using these 2 Waypoints:

In Borean Tundra - Valiance Keep use this Waypoint

Horde Learn Northern Cooking

You can learn Northern Cooking either in Dalaran, Borean Tundra or Howling Fjord. In Dalaran go to the inn The Filthy Animal and locate Awilo Lon'gomba using these 2 Waypoints:

Farm in Borean Tundra

There are many creatures dropping Chilled Meat as you can see if you click the Chilled Meat link above. Any beast may drop the meat but one of the easiest in Borean Tundra is Marsh Caribous with about 40 percent drop chance for Chilled Meat. You can use these coordinates:

Farm in Howling Fjord

There are many creatures dropping Chilled Meat as you can see if you click the Chilled Meat link above. Any beast may drop the meat but I usually just kill mobs in Howling Fjord along the coast south of Vengeance Landing. For example you can farm Lion Seals and Lion Seal Whelps with about 40 percent drop chance for Chilled Meat. You can use these coordinates:
