When you turn it in, you lose your questitem but the turn in fails.
Hope this will be fixed with the next patch

Use the Inventor's Disk(in your inventory) to the Databank(ball looking thing floating near Library Gaurdians)

Databank is around 39, 42

When you're done, use your Brann's Communicator(in your inventory) to summon Brann Bronzebeard to turn in the quest.

you can avoid mobs by using the item to drain the yellow balls on top of pillars and raised platforms. Just some info you might find useful.

So I've channeled 7 devices and only 1 contained data that contributed towards the quest goal. Not sure if this is intentional or a bug.

You have to sit through the whole duration of the channeling.

Also you can be at a pretty far range and use your disk. You don't have to be underneath it, lol.

There is much more of these down on the lower platform as well, don't be fooled into thinking you need to wait for the top ones to respawn head down the stairs towards 38,40 and a lot more opportunities open up.

Make sure you wait for the entire duration of the channel to expire.

Also, the range is greater than you may think, so i found it much easier to fly around until i found a data bank by one of the outcrops and use the item from there. This allowed me to avoid killing all the respawned mobs a second time.

If you're a hunter, and you're wracking your brain over why this quest item isn't working, I just figured out the answer.

Trailblazer talent. It reapplies itself every few seconds, and this breaks the channel from the quest item.

Fly over to Bouldercrag's Refuge to swap out talents real quick, and the quest proceeds smoothly.

If it for any reason doesn't work on the upper platform (like it did to me), try the lower one. Worked fine there!

If you lose Brann's communicator, ask the tauren Moteha Windborn (37, 49) for a new one back at the Grom'arsh crash site.

I went back to the zone to finish Loremaster, and was in the middle of the quest line with no communicator. Took me a while to figure out who would give me one!

Description

That disk you assembled... it's blank! Keeper Mimir, the tinker who built this library, must've hidden the information elsewhere. Look around the Inventor's Library; do you see any databanks there?

That might be the disk's purpose. Try using it near some of those databanks. Perhaps it's set to retrieve and store information from them. After you've tried your hand at that, contact me again and let me know what you've found. Meanwhile, I'll be trying to track down the other half of the archive key.
