The hatchlings are yellow and all you have to do is right click on them to pick them up. They are located in the burning forest nearby at 47, 27.

Make sure you use your flying mount to cover more area. The hatchlings are not sparkly.. they come out when the dragon breathes fire. Right Click It is simple enough. Do this with quest sharpening your talons.

Killing Drake Eggs in the area spawns the hatchlings that you can than pick up.

Make sure when your opening the eggs for the hatchlings that you don't start attacking the hatchling when it comes out. If you do you won't be able to pick it up.

You can get Hatchlings one of two ways

1) destroy the egg.

2) Find them already hatched (after a primodial drake breathes fire on the egg) and pick them up

I found a nice way to train my unarmed fighting skill against these eggs. As a warlock, I dont hit very hard and those eggs have quite a lot of hps, and most importantly, they dont fight back.

more flavor text. After turning in this quest the following dialog happens:

Dorian Drakestalker says: It's your lucky day, Zootfizzle. <Player> has brought more hatchlings for you.
Zootfizzle says: I'm not here to be the keeper of your hatchlings, Dorian. I'm doing research of my own, as well.
Dorian Drakestalker says: Well, you can always go back to the camp and help Weslex with all his cogs...
Zootfizzle says: No, not the cogs! Anything but the cogs!

If you attack the eggs to make the hatchlings spawn, don't use Consecrate or Death and Decay, because that makes hatchlings attack you the moment they appear.

For any casters who want to level up mace/sword/dagger/staff/unarmed skill this is a golden opportunity! These eggs give weapon skill as of patch 3.1!

Ummmm, so I hate Hemet nesingwary quests... the little noise the drakes make when you loot them makes me sad... or maybe it's just lingering feels from doing the Oracle quest line lol

Bring 6 Primordial Hatchlings to Dorian Drakestalker at Dorian's Outpost.

Description

We're not likely to get Broodmother Slivina's attention waving our arms around like fools, but if we're smart, we can bait her into fighting us. We'll also secure more, uh, fodder for my little project.

<Dorian glances over at Zootfizzle.>

But don't worry about that for now. Just look for the primordial drake eggs in the area east and northeast of the camp. Burst them open and scoop up the hatchlings that come out. When the broodmother realizes what we've done, she'll have no choice but to face us.
