Confirmed, you will feel sad after reading the quest text.

I disagree with the above statement Not everyone will feel sad. I have an unrepentant ass for a guildmate that would have happily torn the letter if it wasn't for the fact it would give him exp.

War. It makes us kill our greatest heroes, and hardens us to their loss. It turns us into unstoppable machines of murder, draping our scarred frames in its spoils.

And at the end, when we stand over the corpses of our fallen enemies, wearing shoulderpads that glow in the dark, somehow we feel we may have lost something along the way.

I'm Horde, I can't do the quest because I'm the opposing faction but I read the letter text on here...Nothing. I just don't know why I don't feel sad reading this letter as cruel as it seems...I don't get it either.

I killed her 3 times for the quest item to drop for the focus on the beach quest and i only read the quest when I got the quest item.

And then blizzard leaves the questline there, just a kick in the groin!
Atleast like continiue it with Archmage Malin saying, It's not too late! I Might have a way to get my daugther back to life! After the death of forces of the blue dragonflight Malygos orders the corpses to be sent underneath the Nexus for a mana drainage, if you hurry you can still reach her in time and then use these jumper cables on her, they are magically infused with healing powers! Now go!

Sad, but it also makes no sense. First she says, "If you're reading this letter, then I'm dead." And then a few lines later, "...don't worry about me. I have them fooled and I'm sabotaging them from the inside."
The Horde one also suffers from this inconsistency. It would be so much more effective and touching if it actually made sense. Still, it's an excellent, immersive reminder that all the NPCs we fight could have backstories and families, even if it's never explored in the game.

this letter made me to cry.I was the man who killed her 'cause it was a quest 'n' I didn't know that,but now I realise:the war make us some horrible walking-killing machines and makes us to cry our fallen heros.we are sitting next to the crorpse of our most loving persons in our life an make us to cry an yell for our fallen family.this quest made me like Thrall when Orgrim Hellscream was killed.Rest in Peace,mon and don't forget:do not enter in war 'cause not your life is in game,but all of our lives are in game.

Let me get this straight. This is World of Warcraft. Throughout the game, you kill thousands of minions whose only fault was following the orders of their insane superiors. And suddenly you get all teary for this one girl?

Yeah I'll admit it. I cried too, but I didn't with the horde side letter. I really do appreciate Blizz making quests that remind us that killing is not something to be taken lightly, even in a game. Anything less tends to desensitize people.

Nice revelation to a 66 yr old father that has just been re-united with his daughters after 15-30 years. (depends on the daughter). That one hurt.

First Keristrasza, now Captain Emmy Malin. Two NPC deaths which have made me shed a few tears. Both caused by Malygos.

I basically yell, "For Keristrasza! For Emmy Malin!" every week I engage Malygos by myself on my level 90 Death Knight.

even thou its just a game, but still, I felt really very sad after reading the letter, how am I suppose to know this kind of sad letter will drop from her, saying this, even if I knew, would I have done this quest? How much further should I push, that I don't become like the one, we so call monster

Description

You find a letter secreted in the lining of her robes. It reads:

"Father,

I'm sorry for disappearing on you. If you're reading this letter, then I'm dead.

I've been forced to work for Malygos's armies under threat that our family would be killed if I didn't. I feel so ashamed.

If there's anything that you can do to fight them, don't worry about me. I have them fooled and I'm sabotaging them from the inside.
