The Arrakoa race, their capital and this questline is a reference to Jim Henson's awesome film The Dark Crystal. ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dark_Crystal )

Darkstone = Dark Crystal
Skettis = Skesis

etc.

I have always loved that movie since I was little; subsequently the Arrakoa are one of my favorite new races in the Burning Crusade. I keep looking around for more subtle references to the film that are hidden within the quests and Arrakoa villages.

Found it at (30,41) - It's a large floating purple blue crystal type thing can;t miss it. It looks as if it's in the middle of a small encampment and has a glow purple auora emitting from it along the floor. Good luck and happy hunting!!

There are 3 mobs surrounding the stone, but 2 of them walk away after a bit, so you can kill them 1 at a time, if you want to.

I found this quest very hard as a lvl 63 affliction warlock, whiped twice but atlast i made it, suggest is to go with a mage.

There is a tree stump next to the stone, where druids who have flight form (or anyone else with a flying mount) can land. There you can use the Rod of Purification without having to kill any mobs.

You CAN use the rod without having to kill the mobs around the stone, even on foot. Just get at about 20yards of it and use the item, it doesnt generate any threat.
I got my quest done without aggroing one single mob as a 62 sham.

• Accept the quest, Veil Skith: Darkstone of Terokk, from Kirrik the Awakened at coords 37.4, 51.4 (Refugee Caravan).
• Travel northwest, into Veil Skith, to coords 30.4, 42.2.
• Use the Rod of Purification, you were provided, on the Darkstone of Terokk.
• Travel southeast, to the Refugee Caravan, to coords 37.4, 51.4
• Turn in the quest to Kirrik the Awakened.

Veil Skith: Darkstone of Terokk

Use the Rod of Purification on the Darkstone of Terokk in Veil Skith and return to Kirrik the Awakened at the Refugee Caravan in the Bone Wastes.

Description

Veil Skith lies to the northwest of the caravan and to the south of Shattrath in a secluded grove of the forest. It is rumored that the colony of Skettis has constructed a maligned altar of worship. This Darkstone of Terokk must be purified if the arakkoa of Skith are ever to be redeemed.

Take this Rod of Purification and cast it upon the Darkstone. Blessed by A'dal, the rod's purity might be enough to bring clarity to the Darkstone. Go now and may the light shine upon thee.
