What did Garrosh tell you, <name>?

Garrosh is beyond redemption, Greatmother. I fear that in helping the Mag'har, I have convinced Garrosh that he is unfit to lead.

<Greatmother Geyah nods, accepting your answer.>

I can no longer fight the spirits, <name>. My time has long since passed. Once again, I must thank you for all that you have done. While Garrosh may be unmovable, many of my people have been lifted by your accomplishments. They are now willing to fight for our rights as a united clan.

I have done all that I could, Greatmother. I thank you for your kind words.

<Greatmother Geyah smiles at you.>

You remind me of my son, <name>.

He was an immovable mountain: A pillar of strength and honor.

<Geyah's eyes well up with tears.>

He sacrificed himself so that we could survive. So that generations of orcs after him could be born into a world without the blood curse... Without Gul'dan and his dark Horde...

<Geyah stares into the distance, lost in thought.>

Oh Durotan, how I wish that you could be here. Your people so desperately need you...

Greatmother, you are the mother of Durotan?

<Greatmother Geyah nods.>

Did you know my son?

Greatmother, I never had the honor. Durotan died long before my time, but his heroics are known to all on my world. The orcs of Azeroth reside in a place known as Durotar, named after your son. And... <You take a moment to breathe and think through what you are about to tell the Greatmother.>

<Greatmother Geyah's violet eyes lock onto yours.>

Yes...

It is my warchief, Greatmother. The leader of my people. From my world. He... He is the son of Durotan. He is your grandchild.

<Tears stream down Greatmother Geyah's face.>

I... I... Durotan survived to have a child? The child Draka told me of before they left... It was their greatest fear... To raise a child in this world. On the other side of that gate was their only hope. I dared not tell Durotan, but secretly, I begged the spirits to watch over them - to protect their child and to give them strength.

I... I must see my grandchild. I must see him. Please, I am too weak. You must tell him. Before I leave this world...

I will return to Azeroth at once, Greatmother.

As of the current patch, the quest line seems to end here.
The rewards seem to be the same as The Hero of Mag'har, with the difference of 2000 Mag'har rep.

The quest line does end here, but the event still exists (possibly in an altered form?)

If you see "Thrall yells: At long last, I am home...", then stick around. About 6-7 minutes after that Thrall showed up and an event started that included a flashback I remember seeing a long time ago.

(And as of 30 minutes later, Thrall is still sitting in front of Greatmother Geyah. Maybe they've added a phased component to this questline?)

I noticed one problem with this... they effectively removed a quest from , as I am sitting 1 short, with NOTHING left in the zone to do, short of some major chains that I won't be back to later (many of which start in Shadowmoon Valley, hunting demons and the like).

Can someone please post the text of the meeting/flashback? I loved this questline so I waited around for about 15 minutes and he never came. (And no, he wasn't there already when I handed it in.)

Thrall says: Greatmother...

Greatmother Geyah says: I have been expecting you, young one. Come closer - my eyes are not as sharp as they once were.
Greatmother Geyah says: Yes, you move like my son. You have his broad shoulders - ahh, and your mother's fierce eyes.

Thrall says: Greatmother...Am I...

Greatmother Geyah says: There is no doubt - you are the heir of Durotan... my grandson. Draka told me she was with child before she and your father left our world, but I never dared dream that they would survive...

Thrall says: They... did not, Greatmother. They were killed shortly after I was born. I never knew them. I was raised as a slave. To this day, I carry the name of Thrall.

Greatmother Geyah says: Thrall? You've been a slave only to the past, grandson! But no more! When last I saw him, Durotan told me the name he would give his unborn son... He was... so proud...
*Greatmother Geyah wipes a tear away.
Greatmother Geyah says: Go'el. You are Go'el, son of Durotan - rightful chieftain of the Frostwolves. This day, grandson - you are the great joy of my heart.

Thrall says: I have dreamed of this moment all my life, Greatmother. 'Till now, all I've had were Orgrim's stories about my parents and their adventures on Draenor. He was my greatest teacher and dearest friend. He died a hero... They all died as heroes - and for all of them, a song of honor remains.

Greatmother Geyah says: I see that you hold the Doomhammer. Have all of our greatest heroes fallen, grandson?

Thrall says: They died honorably, Greatmother.
Greatmother Geyah says: What of Grommash? What of Hellscream?

Thrall says: He died our greatest hero. It was Grom who freed us all... I was by his side when he struck down Mannoroth and ended the curse forever.

Greatmother Geyah says: Blessed spirits! For twenty years, all we knew was that Grom was the first to drink from the cursed chalice and bring damnation down upon our people... It is the only truth his son, Garrosh has ever known.

Greatmother Geyah says: Grandson, will you... Will you tell Garrosh what you have told me about his father?

Thrall says: Tell him? Greatmother, that boy's father died so that all of us could live free of the blood curse. I will tell him nothing. I will show him! Show him and any that would doubt Hellscream's resolve exactly what Grom Hellscream did for all orcs!
Thrall says: Please excuse me, Greatmother. I will return soon.

(Thrall walks down to Garrosh, then leads him to the spirit circle)

Thrall yells: Spirits give me strength! Take from my soul these old wounds and expose them for all to see! Let this child know his father! Let these people know their savior!

(Thrall summons a sort of miniature version of the fight with Mannoroth in the spirit circle)

*Mannoroth laughs.
Mannoroth says: So predictable. I knew you would come. And I see you've brought the mighty Hellscream.
Mannoroth says: His blood is mine, as is your whole misbegotten race.
Thrall roars in defiance.

(Mannoroth strikes down Thrall)

Mannoroth says: A worthy effort, but futile.
*Mannoroth laughs.
Mannoroth says: The boy believed you could be saved, but he didn't know what burns within your soul when in your heart, you know we are the same.

Grom Hellscream says: NOOOO!

(Hellscream and Mannoroth strike each other down, Thrall gets back up)

Grom Hellscream says: Thrall... The blood haze has lifted.
*Grom's eyes go dim as the blood curse is lifted.
Grom Hellscream says: The demon's fire has burnt out in my veins. I have... freed myself.

Thrall says: No, old friend. You've freed us all...

Garrosh collapses.
Garrosh says: For my entire life I have thought my bloodline cursed. I have lived beneath the shadow of my father's greatest failure.
Garrosh says: I hated him for what he had done. I hated him for the burden he left me. But now...
Garrosh says: You have shown me truths that I would have never known. You and your allies have gifted me with something that cannot bear a price: Redemption. Thrall, redeemer of the Mag'har, you honor me as none ever have...
Garrosh says: On this day, a great burden has been lifted from my chest. My heart swells with pride. And for the first time, I can proudly proclaim who I am. I can finally unleash the fury in my heart.
Garrosh yells: I am Garrosh Hellscream, son of Grom, chieftain of the Mag'har! Let the battle call of Hellscream give you courage and strength! Be lifted by my rallying cry.

(Everyone gets Hellscream's Warsong buff)

Garrosh says: Thank you, son of Durotan.

Thrall places a hand on Garrosh's shoulder.
Thrall says: You need not thank me, Garrosh. Your father was a brother to me. I would do anything for you and the Mag'har. I must now return to the Greatmother.

(Thrall walks back to the Greatmother)

Thrall says: I have returned, Greatmother. Garrosh has found his heart and his fury.

Confirmed as of patch 4.0.3a this quest has replaced the final 2 quests in the chain in which you goto Orgrimmar to talk to Thrall.

Although i got 2000 rep with the Mag'Har instead of the above stated 1000.

I originally posted this under Hero of the Mag'har, the former end of the chain. Since this is the final quest I'll repost it here. Please rate me up(original was up to +222)

This Quest Chain starts in Hellfire with The Assassin. This requires you are able to speak to Nazgrel which means you will have to have done at least some of the level 58 outland Quests*.

1. The Assassin
2. A Strange Weapon
3. The Warchief's Mandate
4. A Spirit Guide
5. The Mag'har
6. Messenger to Thrall
7. Envoy to the Mag'har

Also given at this point are the following, but is not necessary to complete the Hero chain. They are very nice rep rewards for each so you may want to do them since you’re there anyway.

1. A Debilitating Sickness
2. Administering the Salve

The next part leads you to Jorin Dead Eye in Garadar, Nagrand.

1. The Impotent Leader
2. Don't Kill the Fat One
3. Success!
4. Because Kilrath is a Coward
5. Message in a Battle
6. An Audacious Advance
7. Diplomatic Measures

Takes you to Nagrand to Find Lantresor of the Blade which gives you the Blademaster Chain

1a. Armaments for Deception

2a. Returning the Favor
2b. Body Of Evidence
3. Message to Garadar

You will also need to complete The following Unrelated Quests.
1. The Totem of Kar’dash

which is a simple escort quest beginning with the Mag'har Captive in one of the buildings of Sunspring Post.

The second part involves Altruis the Sufferer who is right by the Mag’har captive so these are good quests to do together.

5. Crackin' Some Skulls

This unlocks the final sequence which returns you to Garrosh . He sends you finally to visit Greatmother Geyah .

Thrall says: I am sorry that I did not come sooner, young Hellscream. There is so much that I have to tell you about your father, but first you must tell me where I may find the Greatmother.
Garrosh says: We are honored by your presence, son of Durotan. The Greatmother awaits you at the hospice.

Garrosh points towards the hospice.

Thrall says: I thank you, Garrosh. We have much to discuss when I return from my visit with the Greatmother.

Confirming Thrall still arrives and events play out exactly as above in patch 4.2.2.

When returning to Greatmother after speaking to Garrosh at the end of the quest, the Wardrums echo'd instantly, and Thrall arrived within two minutes.

Have i missed something or why does Greatmother Geyah refer to him (before his arrival) as Thrall? Surely she doesnt know that he was brought up by the humans as a slave and got the name Thrall from them? He even says when he arrives that he goes by the name of Thrall.

Just a note, you may need to walk outside to trigger this event. I waited about 5 minutes inside the hut. When I walked out towards Garrosh, Thrall entered the village. Might just be a coincidence but it was perfect timing. I suspect you trigger him when you approach the bondfire, as thats where he has his first conversation.

I just completed this quest and got 2,2k rep with the 10% from the guildperk.
So you do get 2000 reputation with the mag'har.

Just completed this quest as an 85, patch 4.3.2. When I turned it in, I immediately saw the "War drums echo in the distance", and Thrall yells that he is finally back home. Then nothing happened. I waited around for a while, then left Garadar from the main entrance, and FINALLY saw the Korkron Honor Guard lining up along the road. Thrall and Drek'thar entered soon after, and the whole event began. Brings back memories of Warcraft 3.

Finished this quest chain in 4.3.3. Everything went correctly. I walked outside hospice, waited 3 minutes nearly Garrosh and Thrall came from the way that Osrok is standing.

Ibitis posted most of the dialog from when Thrall arrives after this quest is turned in, but the first part is missing. I included it below:

(Thrall, preceded by two groups of of Kor'kron Warriors, approaches the east gate (apparently starting at the east edge of the zone). He dismounts and enters Garadar along with Drek'Thar, who follows. The honor guard remains outside the gate. Garadar Defenders say three things chosen randomly from a list. Thrall approaches the bonfire.)

Thrall says: Hellscream! Blessed ancestors! He is the mirrored reflection of Grom, Drek'Thar.

Garrosh says: We are honored by your presence, son of Durotan. The Greatmother awaits you at the hospice.

Garrosh points towards the hospice.

Thrall says: I thank you, Garrosh. We have much to discuss when I return from my visit with the Greatmother.

(Thrall walks slowly to the hospice.)

Thrall says: Greatmother... (The remainder is as Ibitis posted.)

Wowpedia has the complete transcript. It's worth it to go to the east gate of Garadar to meet Thrall. The length of time it takes Thrall to show up seems to vary. I had to wait eight minutes for him to get to the bonfire once.

I would like to add, as of 1:30 am, 28/8/14...

This event did not occur for me upon completion of There is No Hope.

Extremely disappointed, as I've spent 2 days working on questing to witness this event as I'm currently trying to experience Outlands of it's full glory before Warlords of Draenor hits...

I'm not sure if this is a bug, or it's been removed or what
Thrall was also in Garador long before I completed this quest that is meant to start this event...

Been searching everywhere to see where we are told it's been removed.. This is a KEY EVENT of outlands......

Okay, the follow-on scripted scene not playing for you?
(Even after following advice elsewhere here to basically wait a few minutes and watch for him coming from an eastern gate?)

Check up again at the Greatmother. If Thrall is sitting there then it means that another adventurer completed this not too long ago.

It will be a VERY long wait for him to despawn.

Additionally, you can witness the scene from somebody else having completed the quest.

Wait right through and at the very end you will receive a nice hour long buff for your troubles.

Having ever received this buff might prevent you from being able to experience the scripted scene? I dunno.

Benefit of hindsight: Check for Thrall seated with the Greatmother before handing in the quest on another toon ;)

Just did this on 10/02/2019.
I went to wait by Garrosh and Thrall turned up a couple of minutes later, then all the dialogue started, with a small "hologram" playback of Hellscream.
