5.3 PTR: 50 Stable Slots, Cosmetic Items, Brawler's Guild Improvements
This article covers 5.3 PTR information which may be outdated. Check out
Wowhead's Brawler's Guild Guide (Updated for 5.3)
for the latest details.
Following up on yesterday's
big 5.3 discovery that Garrosh and the Kor'kron are up to no good in Durotar and the Barrens
, we have some smaller patch additions covering stabled pets, cosmetic armor, and new bosses in the Brawler's Guild!
50 Stable Slots for Hunters
Hunters can now
stable up to 50 pets
, on top of the five in their active slots. With all the
new dinosaurs to collect in 5.2
, this should make lots of hunters happy!
Cosmetic Items
Players noticed that the Auction House in 5.2 had a section under Armor called Cosmetic, but there weren't any items one could list there. We datamined an item from

5.2 Transmog Weapon Changes, Gallery of Main Hand Weapons Changing to One-Hand
Many huge changes are coming to Transmogrification in 5.2! Besides the addition of
troll-themed greens resembling unobtainable gear from original Zul'Gurub and Zul'Aman
, there are a number of weapon changes.
Transmog restrictions have been loosened on several weapon types:
Two-handed axes, maces, and swords can be Transmogrified to each other.
One-handed axes, maces, and swords can be Transmogrified to each other.
Staves and polearms can be transmogrified to each other.
Class restrictions still apply though--you must be able to equip an item in order to use it for transmog.
In addition, many weapons that were Main Hand only are now classified as One-Hand. Previously, Main Hand weapons could not be transmogged onto One Hand weapons. This frees up even more flexibility, as a sword formerly classified as Main Hand only, such as
Runesword of the Red
, can now not only be transmogged onto any other One Hand sword, but also onto any mace or axe (if your character can equip them normally) in 5.2!

In this guide, we've previewed all the rewards you can achieve, from transmog gear to mounts, and gone over special gearing and zone rules. We've also included links to helpful walkthrough videos of each zone as well as Blizzard's realm leaderboards. Finally, we made a list of unconventional items that can help shave off seconds on your run, such as

5.2 PTR: All Season 11 PvP Gear Available, Ghostcrawler on T15 Set Bonuses
Vendors selling all Season 11 Cataclysm PvP gear have been added to the PTR! This has been something hybrid players have been wanting in MoP for both PvP twinking and transmog reasons, since some items like
Cataclysmic Gladiator's Mooncloth Robe
were removed in MoP. Only straight DPS classes on live can finish their S11 sets.
PvP vendors and items tend to get shuffled around a lot each season, so here's a list of who is currently selling what on the PTR:

Capps Carlin

5.2 PTR: Isle of Giants, Transmog Weapon Restrictions Changed

Transmog Weapon Restrictions Changed
Last month, Blizzard tweeted about possible transmog restrictions being lifted in 5.2:
Zarhym
Removing main-hand/off-hand Xmog restrictions maybe by 5.2. Also allowing Xmog of weaps w/ similar anims (2H axe/2H sword, etc).
Problem right now is fist weapons can be quite big, & Monk anims are detailed enough that these weapons cause bad art clipping.
I discussed w/ @Ghostcrawler & he's going to see if we can make polearm Xmog work for War/DK/Ret weapon types. Want to!
While transmogging Off Hand or Main Hand weapons to One Hand weapons wasn't possible on the PTR, we realized that over 600 Ma

Transmogrification Guides: Troll Armor (Updated for 5.4)
Patch 5.2 introduced
numerous greens
that bring back a ton of old troll designs, made inaccessible when the original versions of
Zul'Gurub
and
Zul'Aman
were removed. We immediately thought what great transmog additions they would be for players!
The new version of
Zul'Aman
had some recolored weapons and armor, but they didn't match the original items. Plus, player favorites like
Ancient Amani Longbow
never made it into the new version of the instance.
Zul'Gurub
was more extreme--the 5-piece sets from vanilla, often with surprisingly good itemization compared to Tier 1, were never put back in. While they aren't as eye-catching as the
Zul'Aman
armor, they hold sentimental value for a lot of players. Some distinctive weapons like
Fang of the Faceless
never made it back in either.
The majority of this lookalike gear was added in Patch 5.2 as zone drops from
Isle of Thunder
, but later patches have added a few pieces to fill in incomplete sets.

5.1 News: New Scenario Rewards, Old-World Boss Nerfs
Today's news round up covers new Blizzard features for scenarios and pet battles, information on just how exactly some of the old-world bosses were nerfed for soloing purposes, and insights into why LFR no longer shows you progress status when joining. We also have some information on new scenario rewards: some epics and recolored armor for transmog fun.

New Site Feature: Same Model As Tab
We've had a tab that's shown you similar models on Wowhead for quite a while, but let's face it, it's been inconsistent. While helmets and shoulders have always been steadfast as they could be automatically generated, many accessories have had no such tab or have had a tab with incorrect data. Belts in particular could be misleading, because many belts had the same textures but ended up looking nothing alike; the same goes for breastplates and boots.
Luckily for you guys, though, we've been working on it--for a long time, in fact.
Since August, we have manually been crunching out thousands of items and matching them up every week. This has been a tremendous effort on behalf of all the content team, especially Perculia, and I'm really happy to announce that it's finally done and live on Wowhead right now!
In short, every item on the database should have an accurate same model as tab. From
Breastplate of Cruel Intent
to
Ancient Spellcloak of the Highborne
, we've gone through every item and matched them up
manually
. You may have to refresh your cache and give things time to settle to see all of them, as the data push on the site just went live, but the feature is now officially launched--and we wanted to give everyone the good news! To check it out, just go to

Transmogrification, Part 5: Grey and Starter Look-Alike Gear
If you've ever wanted to transmog your Shaman's gear into the Twill Set, you're in luck! Today's guide rounds up transmogrifiable armor that resembles BoE greys and starter gear--armor that looks neat but can't be transmogged.
Players are not allowed to transmog their gear into uncommon/common-quality items--this means items like vendor trash, starter gear, and holiday rewards are out. However, there's numerous greens that share the same models--some are pretty stylish! Remember, you can mouseover the transmog sets to see what they look like.
