Bestial Wrath doesn't affect pets called by stampede ability, neither does kill command as of now (18/04/2012); BUT when summoned they all provide you with Spirit Bond, creating a huge heal (15% every 2 seconds) and spells like Spirit Mend can be Macro'ed in such way that all summoned spirit beasts cast their exotic ability at the same time. Readiness doesn't affect stampede

As it is right now (3 second cast, 10 minutes cooldown), it is barely notable; if you were say a SV your pet would do about 20% of your overall damage; now considering 4 more pets in end game gear ( ~40k dps),

each pet would deal 40*0.2 = 8k dps, so all your pets would deal 8*4 = 32k dps
As stampede has an uptime of 10 seconds, the total theorical damage would be 32*10 = 320k damge
Now, considering a reasonable travel time of 2seconds to the target, it would end up dealing 32*8 = 246k damage
Finally, as it has a cast time of 3 seconds and that you alone deal 32k dps, it would mean a 96k damage loss for its casting time

Result being: Stampede would add only for about 246 - 96 = 150k Damage in a whole fight. A cd like bestial wrath gives me way more dps than that in 10minutes. Ofc this is just a rough calculation, its subject to variations such as stabled pet cds, the fact that BM pets are stronger etc

Maybe it would be nicer if they reduced overall damage of pets summoned by stampede by 50%, increase its duration time to 20 seconds, up from 10 (100%, thus making travel time less of a dps loss), make it insta-cast and have a 6 minutes cooldown. Well that's just my opinion though

Ah yes, i remember now. Me and my brother. Hunter and Shaman. Me one pet him, all by himself... UNTIL TWO FERAL SPIRIT'S RIP MY FACE OFF! He was always saying how shaman's basically have two pet's whilst hunter's only have one. Although my Roufus was a good boy, he could not survive the spirit's.

We soon agreed that hunter's should be able to summon all pets on a CD, or beast mastery could have two. (Before cataclysm)

Now here it is! The Raging Stampede!

Rhino! Spirit Beast! Spider! Cat! ... and ROUFUS!

What this really makes me want is to get an entire team of nothing but BM hunters together, and each of us tame a full handful of devislaurs and then go into a battleground together! Imagine, 100 devilsaurs charging full tilt en masse into the crying elves!

Ok, now, taking my proposed scenario of 100 stampeding devilsaurs... what happens if the hunters all fire off a Serpent Sting and then cast the new "Beast Cleave"? Do all the dino's start hitting everything around them for 70% too?

This is much better now! Your pets deal more damage than usual and it's an instant cast! :3 As for the gap closer problem which someone previously questioned, it shouldn't really be an issue as long as you make sure that when you go into a Raid, change your pets talents so they have a charge, and make them as powerful as possible.

Technically, it doesn't reset CD's that are less than 5 minutes. Not sure why you changed the phrasing. As it is, although the CD has been changed to 5 minutes, it still won't be affected by readiness.

Given that there are green (Winna's Kitten), blue (Shy-Rotam or Ice Sabre), purple (Frostsabre Pride Watcher) red (Springpaw Lynx), and orange (not hard to find an orange tiger) cats available, it is now within the realm of possibility to summon a technicolour pride of lazy kitties to sleep on your enemies' faces and burn their eyeballs out straight through their eyelids.

On a more serious note, forgive me for saying this (blast it all watch them nerf it after they realise it) but methinks milking this ability is all about the buffs/debuffs, and stacking them up hard. It may be that pets simply will not use their special abilities while summoned by this spell. It will almost certainly be that they'll implement that if it's not already so.
(This list is going to assume your main is a Cat)

Take a Cobra and a Raptor to add -armour to the enemy. They're different debuffs, so they should stack.

If you're Survival, take a Dragonhawk to add +magicdmg to the enemy.

Add a Wolf for crit.

What you get is a nice, fat, multifaceted, roughly twenty second buff, essentially to yourself. Obviously it's not as visually satisfying as a pride of Cats, a flock of eye-tearing Eagles, a murder of Crows, or a swarm of Rats (Meh, large tameable Rat? I can dream, can't I?) but it does get the job done, again, assuming of course that pets summoned with this spell can use special abilities, which is probably not the case.

To clarify which pets are called out, since the tooltip says "all of your pets" and the Glyph of Stampede says "from your stable," the only pets that are actually called out for this are the ones you have on active duty in your Call Pet list. I tested this with only three active pets of the five I could have on me, and even though my stable had an additional four pets in it, it only called my three active pets plus two clones of the pet I already had at my side prior to using the ability. So it is neither "all of your pets," nor "from your stable," but just the ones you have the ability to call upon on your active list prior to using Stampede, with clones of your currently summoned pet if you don't have the full five pets on your active roster.

According to the in-game tooltip as of October 1st 2012, the summoned pets only deal 25% of their normal damage.

The fact that all the pets are set to an aggressive stance and have a massive aggro radius is really annoying. It makes using it on trash or whilst questing a lottery, as if everything dies they'll immediately head off and attack anything else in sight, with no way to call them back.

yeah its risky to use this on trash since they automatically go to the next mob so only use them on your target then switch to passive before they run to the next target when you're done.

For the few Marksmen and SV Hunters out there that do not see the point of that talent anymore in PvP due to its low damage, a bit of food for thought for you:

Special abilities cannot be activated during stampede for the exception of Roar of Sacrifice plus Spirit Mend(from what I tested).

I see lots of non-bm hunters running with 5 of the same pets through the stampede glyph? What's the point?

here's an idea for you MM/SV pvping Hunters:

Get a tiger/bird of prey/spider/ravager - you now have an instant 4sec disarm/root, a +4% phys. damage that last 30sec/50sec +3k mastery buff. - thoses abilities have to be autoactivated on your pets.

For BMs, make sure you use Rabid AFTER Stampede for them to correctly receive the +25% ap.
As for Blade's Edge arena nightmarish situations, makes sure to use it ONCE your target jumped down.

Okay - if you have the Glyph - yes you ONLY get copies of the pet you have at your side which I guess if you have an awesome looking pet that could be pretty cool otherwise it pulls them from your list...

In case you are still a little confused - let me explain *exactly* how it works...

I stood in Oggy and unleashed hell upon the little critters running around to test my theory and THIS is how it actually works... The way it ACTUALLY works is - when you cast Stampede - it pulls from the PETS YOU HAVE IN YOUR IMMEDIATE LIST that you carry around with you...

I have some awesome rare pets but some that I don't necessarily want in my list as I cruise around sometimes... So if you're looking for that crazy variety when you use Stampede - you won't necessarily get it - so keep that in mind. You ONLY see what you have in your pet inventory - so pick the pets you like that fit your needs (i.e. pvp, dps, tank, etc) OR if that doesn't necessarily matter and you're going more for the visual effect - then make sure to pick the pets that you like the most and WANT to see when you use this skill...

Sometimes you'll get one of each - but other times you'll get one unique and 3 copies of another one etc... YOU ONLY GET 4 PETS with this skill at a time... It doesn't seem to use the pet that is selected as YOUR MAIN PET... I've tried it 3-4 times now and never once did my main pet show up - only the listed pets at your disposal...

So just keep that in mind if you are thinking of using this skill...

When used in arenas, combined with spirit mend, hunters get an incredible amount of burst healing.

Using a macro such as:

/cast @player]Spirit Mend
/cast Spirit Mend;Spirit Mend

When it is pressed it will cast it directly on you, but when shift is held, then the hotkey is pressed, it will cast on your target.

Each tick of spirit mend heals for right around 11k or so at 90, and having 5 buffs can give a total of 55k hp every 2 seconds, combined with Exhilaration, a hunter can go from nearly nothing to full health very quickly.

If you don't have 5 spirit beasts, Charred Glyph can be used as long as you have at least 1 spirit beast.

Say my main pet i have summoned is a cat and the others are random like a bear, raptor, and two other different types. Is the damage of my cat increase by 175% and then put onto my other pets or is each pet buffed individually? I am wondering because I want to know if it is worth going and finding 5 cats (or other dps pet type) and getting rid of the diversity.

Not sure if anyone else has this problem, but on a number of occasions shortly after using Stampede I notice that my main pet (who I hadn't since dismissed or allowed to die) had the name of one of the other pets called by the spell.
My turtle, Krosh, had the name Lou the first time I noticed it, and not long ago I noticed Lou the hyena was named Crane. Lou's also switched name with Goat, who had replaced Crane in slot 5.

Not sure if the switches are specifically related to which slots the pets are in, but I'll try and note it in future.

Dismissing and resummoning my pets fixed this problem.

Move is now worthless as of this last patch and is basically a long cosmetic cooldown. Read below for how cool it used to be and what an awesome and powerful variety and thought it once invoked.

so I just start playing my hunter a bit and got high enough to get this.

Basically my choices for stampede appear to either be a debuff team, a buff team, some combo of the two or a "tank/heal team"

for a debuff/buffs,, obviously you stack a varied amount of pets with different abilities

for a tank/heal.. you get 5 spirit beasts

the 4 not being used you have stealth on, growl on, spirit mend off and place them in tenacity mode

your current pet doesnt necessarily need to be a spirit beast but I find it completes the theme and gives access to another spirit mend

run with the macros mentioned above

/cast Spirit Mend;Spirit Mend

also made a stampede macro, which is just me casting stampede but I say
"casting army of the dead . err.. i mean stampede." and basically they are 20 second army of the dead on a 5 minute cooldown, since they are tenacity they wont die easily, and I can full heal someone with their collective spirit mends

LOTTA HATERS ON army of the dead and stampede, but personally I love them because of they pull aggro off the tank and give the healer a breather/usable for oh $%^& moments or as a tanking cooldown.

However stampede is superior because it can also be a debuff/buff move for raids

also you can probably macro them to all cast last stand which lasts 20 seconds, since stampede lasts 20 seconds anyway
(testing) does not appear to be working, mend pet and beastial wrath do not appear to work on the extra pets either

tested with glyph of stampede (makes copies of pet that is currently out)

if i have different types of worms out using the above macro, only the "main pet" worm will use burrow

actually thinking about it, its probably has to do with the fact that tha copies are probably recognized as the same pet as the main one, so whatever lock out is enabled for the extra pets is skipped over on the copies, since they are recognized as the same pet.
if i have it glyphed so they are all copies of a given worm, they will all burrow during stampede, not sure why this is
same thing with things like a chimearas froststorm breath

Does this still make all pets perform their special abilities and buffs when they come out?

I just tested on a mob, all the pets came out but I was only buffed twice.

I'm using a Spirit Beast, Shale Spider, Hyena, Quilien, and Core Hound.

This attack is absolute bullS*** BM hunters are literally a 2 button class now or 1 button if macro'd Bestial wrath and stampede This needs a major nerf 175% of pet damage is way too much plus coupled with back peddling, hunters just became a no skill class >.<

Stampede is an interesting ability because you can augment its utility based on which pets you put in your "call" stable. I personally like the "variety buff/debuff" approach, where each pet in my stable is selected based on the buff or debuff they apply.

- Shale Spider - main pvp pet; has stun
- Raptor - Applies +4% physical dmg to target.
- Core Hound - Applies -25% cast speed debuff on target.
- Devilsaur - Applies -25% healing debuff and provides +5% crit buff.
- Dragonhawk - Applies +5% magic dmg to target.

You can mix and match based on your play style but the devilsaur and core hound combo can make stampede a great way to end healers quickly. It's not so much the damage of the pets that helps so much as it is all of the buffs/debuffs they apply when they appear. The other technique is to use a spirit beast and the glyph that copies the active pet during stampede to give yourself a heal worth about 100K instant plus a 300K HoT over 10 sec.

What I do with my hunter is I tame four of the same beast (bats are usually what I do with undead, wolves with worgen) and name them after the four horsemen (Death, Pestilence, War, Famine) with the appropriate colors and what not and keep them as my other four un-stabled pets.

***As of 6.0.2: Stampede is removed as a basic ability and is now a talent for level 75 hunters to choose from. You'll have to decide between Stampede, Blink Strikes, or Murder of Crows.

I don't know if it was before the patch, but now as a talent, this abillity not only summons remaining pets but also multiplies current (I surprisingly saw two copies, not only one).

Of course I have no glyph. But it looks like standard and glyph ability are combined.

The tooltip of this ability is very misleading. It does NOT summon pets from your stable. It will only summon pets from your current list of active pets. I know this because if I'm not beast mastery and try to use this ability with only exotic pets in my active pets, then it will give me an error message saying that I'm unable to control exotic creatures, but it will still incur the cooldown despite doing absolutely nothing.

I have some questions about this skill:

- does the pets us theyr abilities?
- if they do, do they only use in the instant they are sumoned, or for as long as they remain sumoned?
- about Growl: if i use Misdirection before casing, does the aggro generated by theyr Growl goes to my Misdirection target (in the case, the tank), or goes to the pets?
- Misdiretion would deflect the aggro created by my pets attacks to the tank, or only mine?
