For those confused like I was, this is an event like The Hunt. It starts event starts at a set time and you must look at your map to see where the blue areas are and go there and complete the objectives. Currently it is bugged and you can't complete it, it stalls at one point or another.

I just noticed that under the quest marker, it shows a horn. If you hover your mouse over the horn, it shows a timer of when the next expedition will begin, and what it is.

Not usually one to complain about new content but this has to be one of the worst designed outdoor events in a long time. Just miserably dull, a repetitive slog without any flavour whatsoever and entirely impossible to do without a solid group of people - which is no help since Zaralek already seems dead.

I think that someone in Blizaard has gone mad and is completely out of touch with reality. It's 8 pm, there are about 10 people doing the event, after 15 minutes we have a progress of 5 out of 12. I have many profession alts and I do weekly Accord with them because of the reputation, the idea that I will waste time with everyone of them at this stupid event is absolutely sick.
The person responsible for the fact that these recurring events must complete all alts every week should leave Blizzard and find another job where he won't force players to waste time.

You complete the Kill Credit: Researchers Under Fire part when defeating Captain Reykal. It is not required to get 12/12 within 25 minutes. It's just the higher you get, the better the reward will be. The event starts every hour at x:30. It's not clear to me what the minimum requirements are to spawn Captain Reykal during "Leader to a Flame".

As of 11th of may, event is bugged and won't start, lets hope Blizzard fixes it soon

I have one alt who needs this this week which means that I won't wind up completing the weekly Accord on her.

I don't get how no one tested this one out at all. Yes, it's meant to be like the hunt, but unlike the hunt, it's bugged. I sat last night at the spot it was supposed to start at. We had about 20 people there, a good mix of tanks, heals and DPS. We would have been able to do it but it never spawned.

I flew over a few times this morning and again, it's just not spawning. And apparently if it does spawn, unlike the soup event, if you're on your own, or with just two or three people, you won't be able to complete it as you'll be smushed like a bug.

I don't get it at all. Why wasn't this tested at all?

I showed up for the event at 4 PM on Friday 5/12/23. At exactly 4 all the researchers on the platform disappeared and now the map icon shows that the event will start in 30 minutes, so there are some problems here for sure!

For me this event was bugged in the same way the Grand Hunt was bugged. I can see the dais as a quest objective on my map and if I stay there, the encounter progresses through the steps. If I fly all over the area, I can't see anything happening: no highlighted items for pick up, no hostile mobs, no players. I waited through the encounter and at the end, the hostile npcs swarm the dais and a boss spawns after the bar is filled. It's like the area is phased or sharded somehow and the only time I could actually take part was at the end.

I just completed this quest, it seems to start daily at 4:30 server time (in Australia). As long as you have enough people you can do it. Just like the hunt, once it starts you can look at your map and see the blue outlines of the area(s) you need to go to.

If you’ve accepted Aiding the Accord: Time Rift, you need to accept When Time Needs Mending to do the Time Rift event. But only one character can complete When Time Needs Mending each week, so make sure it’s the character doing the Aiding the Accord quest. Otherwise, Aiding the Accord: Time Rift will have to be completed next week -- or dropped. All characters can do the Time Rifts event daily for some currency, but they won't earn the main reward, a Contained Paracausality.

There is a difference between accepting When Time Needs Mending and activating it.

Once a toon has accepted the quest, it goes into the quest log of all toons. All will see a gray question mark over the head of quest giver Soridormi.

Only the toon that accepted the quest, can delete from the quest log.
Only one toon may activate the weekly quest by Reporting in to Soridormi at the start of the Time Rift event. Do this by clicking on the chat option that says in purple lettering. "(Begin Time Refit) Name reporting in for Duty". The toon activating the request does not need to be the toon that accepted When Time Needs Mending.

Where and When is the Time Rift Event?

Quest giver Soridormi is always at the base of a temple in the Tyrhold Reservoir area of Thaldraszus (51.1, 57.1)
The quest location is marked by a hunting horn on the map just above Valdrakken. There are so many horns marking community quests, you may have overlooked this one. Mouseover the horn to see how much time is left before the next Time Rift event starts.
Goarthur says the quest runs hourly on the hour

A scenario?
You don't queue up for a Time Rift event. Just show up in Tyrhold Reservoir and accept When Time Needs Mending. When the event is about to start, check in with Soridormi by clicking on a chat message. Others will be there, some in groups with their own Soulwell. Niaw and others report that you can't do When Time Needs Mending in a raid group.

Do I need to do a storyline first?
No. No rep requirements either.

Differing accounts as to how many characters can complete a weekly Time Rift

The "When Time Needs Mending" quest can only be completed once per account per week. It cannot be completed again until after the weekly reset occurs. This is working as intended.

In the Comments many say that multiple characters on their account can access When Time Needs Mending. Others say only one toon on their account can complete the quest. The result is uneven access to the new Paracausal Flakes currency that buys mounts, pets and gear.

I’ve found that only one character can do When Time Needs Mending per week. But alts can do the Time Rift every day, provided they “Report in” with Soridormi when the event is announced. (Just click on the chat option with purple lettering that says, "(Begin Time Refit) Name reporting in for Duty". Alts won’t earn Contained Paracausality, but they can earn Paracausal Flakes.

The Lore

Soridormi says,
There are trillions and trillions of timeways out there; alternative realities that exist parallel to ours.

Most timeways do not threaten ours...A few timeways, however, stretch perilously close to our own. And when we experience turbulence in our timeline -- as we have in recent days -- the veil between our reality and ancient timeways can wear thin... or tear open.

Timer
There are timers for the Incursion at Tyrhold Reservoir (around 9 minutes) and the boss in the other timeway (around 6 minutes).

The Sequence
There are nine different timeways*, with timeways being introduced weekly. The sequence of events stays the same:

Report in to Soridormi at the start of the Time Rift event by clicking on the chat option that says in purple lettering. "(Begin Time Refit) Name reporting in for Duty".
Defeat invasive creatures from another timeway that are running around the Tyrhold Reservoir.
A title is given to the incursion. Ignore the title and watch the objectives. The objectives will change as more mobs appear. Check the mini-map for changing locations.
Sometimes there is a choice of paired buffs or an extra quest.
Soridormi tells everyone to return to her. Sometimes you'll be given a puzzle to do in the starting area.
A large gold portal is opened to the other timeway. The portal is on the round platform in the middle of the Tyrhold Reservoir.
Soridormi tells us to slay a boss -- the "Fractured Causality".
Return through the portal to the Dragon Isles timeway. You'll end up back at the Tyrhold Reservoir. This completes the Time Rift.
Your reward is a Contained Paracausality.

Drake's Shadowflame Crest Fragment	Use: Piece together 15 fragments to create a Drake's Shadowflame Crest. (Binds on pick-up)

Converting the soulbound Paracausal Flakes currency to account bound currency

The reward currency, Paracausal Flakes, is soulbound but you can get around this:
The Paracausal Cluster containing Paracausal Flakes is account bound until you open it.
Any character can convert soulbound Paracausal Flakes to account bound Paracausal Flakes. Buy a Paracausal Crate containing 500 account bound Paracausal Flakes from Pandaran Time Rift vendor Shi Everbreeze for 500 soulbound Paracausal Flakes. (Coords 51.0, 56.6)

As an alternative, consider having one character do the weekly Time Rift events.

The Time Rift Vendors
There is a vendor for each timeway. They are grouped on the platform to the left of quest giver Soridormi at the base of a tall temple in Tyrhold Reservoir. (Coords 51, 56)
Items sold are account bound, so you can buy for your alts. A Pandaran vendor, Shi Everbreeze, sells armor for all classes.

Tasks without clear instructions: 2 examples

Defeat the Rotting Colossus, then send it home.
Rotting Colossus becomes a vehicle you can control. The mini-map doesn't show a home location. Just move it to a mini portal/rift nearby. The Colossus will disappear, but you'll stay put.

Soridormi tells every to return to the starting point and catch the sands of time.
Instructions on the screen say: "Fill the hourglass by catching the sand". The hourglass is an object on the ground that resembles an end table. Click on it to open a puzzle. Click on the slow moving yellow blobs to drop sand into the hourglass.

I figured it would be easy to do this on a weekend, surely people would be here doing it. Got here around 7:30pm eastern on a sat. night, and. Nobody was here when it was up. :(

They really need to remove this quest from the rotation, bc Zaralek Caverns is a virtual ghost town these days. :(
