Can't get past 4/7 in week 1.
DId all the zone quests + dailys 6/20 1515/2500 Loamm Niffen. ( every other renown maxed )
Gonna try to raise rep see if that does anything ... weird that I can already buy slitherdrake customization but can't get it yet lol

Chapter 4 (Inherited Sin) is locked until the second week of May, 2023.

Yes! Chapters 4 and 5 of the questline will arrive next week, and that will include the Slitherdrake mount.
We also have some updates to in-game text that should clarify this coming soon.

Only chapters 1-3 are available in week 1.

Does the portal to Zaralek Cavern offered by Kalecgos at the Seat of the Aspects go away once you complete this?

In case you are wondering how to start this storyline: Ebyssian is at The Seat of the Aspects. It may have quest icon bugged on the map (no icon). Yet Ebyssian is quite small on the right side of the huge dragons, so might be easy to be missed and just walk pass it like I did :D

I'm thoroughly confused by this entire endeavor.
Does one need to complete the 10.0 storyline to be able to obtain this slitherdrake, or is the 10.1 story taking place in Loamm and whatnot? I haven't been able to find this series of quests yet, but I see people all over the place with the new mount.

If you are stuck on 4/7 and have seemingly done everything possible, go to Valdrakken to the top of the Seat of Aspects and speak to Ebyssian he will give you the Here We Go Again quest to continue your journey ;)

Am I the only one that died going through Kalecgoc’s portal? He made something to slow down my fall but I still died on impact. Then he ported away!

As of May '23:

1. Turn in the report on top of the Aspects tower - this will complete "In the Wake of Ashes". The black dragons will walk off and disappear.

2. Mount up and fly off the tower, curve back and land on the tower. The black dragons will be there now, with a quest "Here We Go Again".

3. Again, they will walk off and disappear. The Blue Aspect dragon will now give you the option of opening a portal to the Cavern. This is only good for one trip.

4. Ebyssian and the others are now on your map in the north part of the Cavern.

(When you take Kalecgos' portal, you fall down from high up. He saves you though, and yells out "Not today!" - which is most likely a Game of Thrones reference)

This questline feals a bit weird emotionally.
Chapter 1 - you get a quest where you run around Loamm and meet all the characters with their quirky personallities.
Chapter 3 - you Fyrack attacks the city with full cutscene power. Many of the characters from that quest are now the ones dead. You have not interacted with them since that quest. Any character that you have quests or vendors has plot armor for this attack.
(One week time gate if you did it at the time - or one quest later otherwise)
Chapter 4 - go back to the cavern and check out the north. You don't check back in with Loamm... but if you do, no sign of damage, only the few characters are missing, and nobody talks about them.

Is there a prerequisite to start this quest chain?

Yes.
The Zaralek Cavern Comprehensive Guide says that to Unlock the Zaralek Cavern you must complete the Breaking Ground storyline, Chapter 1 of the Embers of Neltharion.
This starts with The Land Beneath. If you also don't have that done, the top comment says that it will show up after you have completed A Creche Divided.

Due to some phasing stuff, it's possible there's two Ebyssians up at the Seat of the Aspects. You want to talk to non-dragon Ebyssian, who is hiding behind dragon Ebyssian.

Description

I understand Alexstrasza's concerns. Shadowflame is a vile force that poses an indescribable threat to anyone who comes close to it, as we have personally witnessed. Unfortunately, Aberrus may contain even more threats. We need to continue to push forward. Before I left Zaralek Cavern, I made contact with soldiers stationed by Neltharion at the Obsidian Rest. Luckily for us, they remain loyal to the Black Dragonflight. Let us meet there.
