If you haven't explored this instanced version of BRD much yet, instead of heading towards the question mark on your minimap, go north-east from Thurgaden to find a way to the upper level, which allows entrance into the Grim Guzzler.

To be able to pick up the questchain that awards you Grimhowl's Face Axe, starting with The Anvil-Thane's Designs, you'll need a lvl 50 Dark Iron Dwarf and the achievement Heritage of the Dark Iron.
This is the achievement that unlocks heritage armor for Dark iron Dwarfs. Keep in mind tho that this achievement requires you to level a newly made Dark iron dwarf to 50, you can NOT race change or boost the character, as this will not unlock the achievement for you. You HAVE to make a new character if you’ve never leveled a Dark Iron Dwarf from scratch.

To see the quest, you will need to be on the character that earned the Heritage armor achievement--account-wide achievements on other Dark Irons do not count.

Figure it might help for those who are like me, who leveled an alt dark iron for their main's heritage armor.

I've never really used the Mole Machines so I just went into the instance and ran to where he was supposed to be per the map. Well, he's not there. I had to hearth out and use the Mole Machine (Shadowforge City option) to find him to get the quest. Appears the quest chain happens in a special instance of BRD. A breadcrumb quest leading to him might have been nice.

Leveled several Dark Iron Dwarves (DID) to level 50+ during 9.2 and none has the quest. My DID who earned the heritage armor in BFA doesn't exist anymore. Guess I'm screwed.

They fixed the "bug" or whatever that wouldn't allow you to get the weapons on a DID that didn't originally get the heritage armor. I faction changed that character along time ago but I had a Paladin I race changed to a DID and after the hotfix, I could do the quest with this character.

Ok so here's a weird one: I was grouped with my wife and we went and grabbed the initial quest. When we got to the Grim Guzzler, I chose to fight, and she chose the brew option. I completed the fight, and in my quest tracker the quest was marked complete. My wife was still doing the brew option, however. I saw the yellow ? on my minimap, but Strongarm Jarden did not have one over her head. When I clicked on Strongarm, all I got was a blank window, not even any text. I dropped group, thinking that might be the problem, no dice. I then waited for my wife's toon to finish, and still nothing. So I dropped the quest. Now when I go back to Anvil-Thane Thurgarden, he has no quest for me.

I've tried all the typical suggestions, deleting addons, resetting my UI, making sure no addons load, went back to Stormwind and logged out for an entire day. Still nothing. Submiting a ticket got a boilerplate 'We're sorry have you submitted a bug for this?' response.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

For this questline you need to be on your Dark Iron Dwarf (lvl 50+) and currently it has to be the DID that did Heritage of the Dark Iron.
Use your Mole Machine to get there, it's in your general spell tab. Select Eastern Kingdoms > Shadowforge City.

The Anvil-Thane's Designs - turn around and walk forward, upstairs, follow the way on the right side (don't jump down) and enter the Grim Guzzler
Brawl or Brew - click her dialogue and select "brawl". Fight against Risen Ghoul
It's Called Borrowing - go down and kill Boiling Flamebringer for Boiling Flamecore. Go back to the ramp where you came from and collect 5 Darkforged Ingot, they lie around in the big marked area near the Warbringer Constructs. Follow the way until you reach Kasea Angerforge and ask her for the Flamepoint Engraver. Turn around and go back a bit to turn in the quest
Weapons o' the Dark Iron - talk to Anvil-Thane Thurgaden and click the darkforged ingot
Turn in and get Arsenal: Lavaforge Armaments.
Delivery for Kasea - follow the way back
Good Fiery Boy - click Blackrock Ball next to you, throw it on the ground and click Grimhowl to pet him. Collect 4 Charred Steak from the boxes and feed him. After that, click the extra action button Apply Blackrock Barding.
Turn in and get Grimhowl's Face Axe.

Questline took about 15 minutes with level 52 and ilvl 85.

To pick up the quest in the first place use your mole machine and pick shadowforge city, npc near the black anvil gives it to you.

This questline is the kinda questline I love. Took me about 15 mins to complete, and I went and got water and a snack within the timeframe. Just go through the mole machine in Stormwind and knock this out in a few minutes.

Can anybody confirm that this quest can now be obtained on *any* level 50+ Dark Iron Dwarf as long as you have the achievement?

Reason for asking: the character I obtained the achievement on was race changed a long time ago, and I have zero intentions of changing them back. I'd rather not level a fresh DID to level 50 just to find out this hasn't been resolved yet.

I did this on my Rogue, and YES, my other characters could use the weapons that were 'unlocked' but not usable by the Rogue (e.g, Shield, Staff). Hooray. One Dark Iron to unite all the transmogs.

So, if like me you earned the heritage armor and were level 50 before the level squish, you'll have to relevel to 50 to be able to start this quest.

Description

I see you eyein' our weapons here. Wouldnae ye know, I forged them myself! So far, I've got designs for a staff, a one-handed axe, and a shield... I could make ye some, if you'd like! O' course, that's what I'd normally say. Unfortunately I lost the designs in a bet down at the Grim Guzzler. If ye could get them back, as well as gather the materials, I'd be happy to forge ye some weapons!
