You can choose between:

Taming another animal outside the quest area will not complete the quest and the animal will not be added to your stable.

This quest is Hunter Only and replaces "Enhanced Combat Tactics" given to other classes on Exile's Reach, it is given by Mithdran Dawntracker after "Northbound" is turned in

As TabernerEXE states, this is a Hunter only variant quest which replaces Enhanced Combat Tactics that other melee classes get. It's likely Warlocks get something similar

Funnily enough, if you play a blood elf hunter through the zone, instead of lamenting that he's been assigned such an inexperienced ranger, his dialogue is more about taking you under his wing to teach you the ways of the farstriders (the belf ranger corps)

Click on Pet Utility button that is in your spell book and the tame beast ability will pop up. Took me a minute to figure out were the tame beast ability was located.

Learn Tame Beast from Mithdran Dawntracker, then use Tame Beast on any nearby wildlife.

	Tame Beast learned from Mithdran (1)
	Any wildlife beast tamed (1)

Description

A hunter like yourself needs a good pet by your side. Did you not bring one with you? Hmm. I suppose I shall have to compensate for your lack of training. Listen closely and learn quickly. I will teach you how to tame a beast and make it your pet. You will need one if you are to fight the quilboar.
