The quest item can be found among some of the tall grass-like growth in the area. Locations are shown on the minimap (Edit: May require Herbalism)

You have to click on the item, wait for the cast to finish, and then walk away from it until you fall over to get quest credit.

If you remember Tangled Crops from Sunsong Ranch in Pandaria, it works like that.

To complete this quest you need to harvest 8 Stringy Spores.
There are lots of strange black grass-like things within the marked quest area, all marked on the minimap.
To harvest them you need to interact and pull it out of the ground (you need to move away while holding a rope)
This quest is better to be done with Bug Bites quests as tasks of both quests in the same area.

Time TIP: Once you click on the spore you can mount up and pull it out. The benefit to this is you don't get knocked back and can be on your mount ready to go to the next spore.

I'm currently bugged in this quest, the spores do not show up on the game and I can't progress further :(

I have to say this was as intuitive as scratching your nose with a shovel - in the world of making a special pin for quests, this was vanilla-material .

The lighted plant you see in the picture does NOT appear right now on live server.

Just cross your mouse over the plants until you see the grab hand. They're there... You just don't see them popping. At all.

I'm not sure if the quest is bugged or just designed this way but I'll have to pull up 5+ spores to get 1 for the quest.
Edit: I've found that spam clicking them works every time.

If you are struggling to get credit for spore collection, it seems to not give credit if you untarget the spore thing when you click it. Maybe it'll work for you.

This quest is currently bugged for druids, who don't "grab" the spores in a druid form. To solve this, shift out of any form before interacting with the quest objects.

Hard to see, even though they're highlighted. Small tip is if you continue running but click on them as you pass by, you can keep running as it's pulling, rather than stand still and wait.

These look like tall stalky grasses, and they spawn in the clumps of similar grasses in the area. They won't show up if you have your graphics settings too low. "Outline Mode" has to be set to good or better for them to show.

This is a very badly designed quest. Poor visual aid to see what you need to click, the sparkles not actually showing at times and low spawn rate make this annoying, at least make the highlights bigger so players can see what they need to click.

First bad quest encountered in SL so far, rest have been great.

1 The House of Plagues	Start quest from Baroness Draka 50.3 67.7 You need to go to see Plague Deviser Marileth 56.4 57.4
2 Bug Bites	You need to pull out Stringy Spore to get Stringy Spore. do this quest together with Spores Galore.
3 Spores Galore	Collect 6 Bloated Venom Sac is drop from Virulent Pest.
4 Slime, Anyone?	First press on Cauldron of Creation, Jar of Venom and Pile of Spores after that press one more time on Cauldron of Creation you will get Plagueborn Slime.
5 Hazardous Waste Collection	Collect 6 Laboratory Equipment to get them you need to press on Plague Refuse then will come out Plagueborn Slime after few sec on top of them you can pick up Laboratory Equipment. This quest do together with Plague is Thicker Than Water and Applied Science.
6 Plague is Thicker Than Water	Kill Korrim the Cunning location 62 62.9

Doing this on my mage now, you have to pull the spores away from the source. So right click to grab it and walk away from the plant until it snaps and gives you the credit for it.

When clicking on weed/spore in druid moonkin form (with glyph of stars) - As soon as you click on weed/spore it will take you out of moonkin form evetime you click one. Bug submitted.

Hi!
So I'm here to HELP with the common bug you see several times online on battle.net (from 2020 to... 2024 for me) that prevents the spores from dropping anything: you click on them, you pull on them but when you fall backwards, they drop nothing.

I found by chance a buggy solution. When you aggro and attack a beetle (all around for the Bug Bites' quest); and then (without killing the bug!) you click on a spore: a strange bug will act as if the root of the spore is where the beetle is. You'll have to pull the root as if normal from then on, and if you do so and falls backward before the bug dies, it WILL spawn a Stringy Spore.

So:

Find a beetle near a spore.
Attack the beetle. Don't kill it!
Click on the root; it will spawn from under the beetle.
Pull the root.
Fall backward: it will spawn the spore!
Kill the beetle and find another one, near another spore!
