The Lordaeron scenario (Alliance) is the first quest in the introductory story chapter Come Sail Away, which leads the Alliance to Kul Tiras. Completing the questline unlocks the Scouting Map in Boralus, allowing players to begin questing in Tiragarde Sound, Drustvar and Stormsong Valley. Level 110 characters will auto-accept the first quest when BfA hits the servers on August 14. 2018.

The Battle for Lordaeron is the starting quest of Battle for Azeroth for Alliance Side.
As usually, quest adds into the quest log automatically as a character logged into the game.
You have to find Captain Angelica at Stormwind Harbor and tell that you're ready to start.
Ths scenario is long enough, takes around 20 minutes to do, but nothing hard as it's global scenario.
If you cant realise what to / where to go, see what others do.

The Battle for Lordaeron (ALLIANCE SCENARIO)
• Accept the quest, The Battle for Lordaeron, from Master Mathias Shaw at coords 22.4, 32.4 (Stormwind City Docks).
• Speak with Captain Angelica to start the Battle of Lordaeron scenario

Stage 1: The Third Fleet
• Travel south, following General Hammond Clay to Brill.
• Listen to Genn Greymane, and wait for the gate to drop, initiating the start of the battle.

Stage 2: Clearing the Way
• Defeat enemy troops, including the Goblin Shredder that lands shortly after the gate falls. You will continue to fight enemy troops until the "Siege Towers Defended" bar reaches 100%.

Stage 3: Clearing the Way
• Proceed to the area of coords 49, 62 and wait for the Azerite War Machine to arrive.

Stage 4: Breach the Wall
• N/A - Cinematic - Anduin Wrynn finishes off the Azerite War Machine, and Lady Sylvanas Windrunner blights the battlefield.

Stage 5: Blighted Grounds
• Continue the following until the "Defend King Anduin..." bar reaches 100%.
- - Fight enemy troops and heal any Wounded Soldier you see.
- - Avoid the green blight that is on the battlefield.

Stage 6: The Light is Fading
• N/A - Cinematic

Stage 7: The Winds of Change
• Follow Anduin Wrynn into the Ruins of Lordaeron.

Stage 8: The Great Eagle
• After the wall comes down, you will engage in combat with Darkspear Trolls. Continue to do this until the bar fills up to 100%.
• Once the bar has reached 100%, you will fight with Windseeker Durja who had been protected by Shield of Swirling Storms.
- - He will occasionally do a knockback: Wind Blast. After he does this, he will fly to the other side of the courtyard where you will continue the fight.

Stage 9: Pressing Onward
• When Windseeker Durja dies, the ice wall at 42.1, 81.7 falls and Anduin Wrynn goes through. Follow Anduin Wrynn.

Stage 10: Abomination Wonderland
• Defeat Horde troops until the "Assault Lordaeron City" bar fills to 100%.

Stage 11: Blast!
• N/A - Cinematic & Dialogue

Stage 12: She's Getting Away!
• Click on one of the Gnomish Flying Machine to fly it over the blight.

Stage 13: The High Overlord
• After landing in the courtyard, there will be a short dialogue between Anduin Wrynn and High Overlord Saurfang, where you will then fight High Overlord Saurfang.

Stage 14: The Dark Lady
• Follow Anduin Wrynn.

Stage 15: Finale
• Observe the cinematic.
• When the cinematic is over, you will find yourself in Stormwind City.
• Turn in the quest to Halford Wyrmbane.

For those of you just wondering how long this is...
Approximate duration: 25 minutes
You can skip the last cinematic and save about 2-3 minutes. But I wouldn't, it's EPIC!

Beware if you recently came back to wow!
There is an npc on the boat who offers a travel to unlock quests starting at Ulduar. This is NOT the good one. This is for the former extension patch quest that you may have not yet done if you come back, like me, after a long break.
Be careful to speak to captain Angelica who is NOT on the boat next to the quest giver: she is on the dock too, very close.

Also note that even if you have already declined the scenario to captain Angelica you may have to decline it again before you eventually get the A Dying World quest!

If you have done this quest/scenario on another toon it is now possible to skip the quest by talking to the woman, Captain Angelica, who is standing beside Mathias Shaw.

If you boost a toon to 110 you can skip the scenario by leaving the queue once it pops (before joining). You will be immediately ported to Stormwind gates. Then fly to the docks and talk to Captain Angelica to skip the scenario.

Anyone had an issue with this since pre-patch? My sisters got a level 35 that can’t get the quest line, like can’t find the guy at the docks or anything, idk if she needs to do the legion stuff first? My toon went through it all when it went live so idk about it now lol (Talking new pre-patch like 2020 lol)

For everyone like me, who comes here looking for the scenario, here's your answer.

The quest has been removed from the game, but if you liked the scenario and want to relive it, you can visit Archivist Thomas (Alliance) or Archivist Sylvia (Horde).

To get started on BfA, you should be able to get a war council quest from the herald at a Hero's Call/Warchief's Command board.

So I was stuck for ages as a boosted level 50 alliance toon working out how to pick up the questline for Heart of Azeroth.
Things I tried :-

- The Earthern Guardian in Boralis has no quests
- The Hero's Herald in Stormwind or the board doesn't offer anything for BfA start
- No quests autopop zoning into Stormwind or Boralis
- Chromie doesn't offer anything either

Eventually even though I had not done The Battle for Lordaeron or A Dying World I figured I would try just going to Silithus.
Lo and beyond Magni Bronzebeard was just offering The Heart of Azeroth quest from there.

So it seems Blizzard removed several of the initial quests, at least for boosted toons. If you have a boosted toon and are stuck, try just going straight to Silithus.

If youre looking to do this to start the BFA quests as of shadowlands dont bother. Go to the herald NPC next to the bounty board in stormwind and he will get you started.

Happy Darkmoon Faire! I decided to try playing WoW again after a long hiatus. Since the DMF event is going on this week, I remembered that this quest chain does give out a lot of xp in a short time. So, I did the intro quest, flew to the harbor, started the scenario, and I get stuck within the first few minutes. It freezes at the 53% mark of defending the siege towers.

I'm playing an unboosted lvl 48 pally, and you can't kill any mobs after you down the things attacking the siege engines. You attack a mob, and it just absorbs all damage. You can't rescue the gnome mage, and you can't help out at the medical tent. I exited the scenario and tried running it again without addons, and that didn't fix the issue. I googled the scenario to see if anyone else experienced this issue. Nothing. I did read that this quest was supposedly taken out after patch 9.0, so I'm like ok, I'll abandon the quest, but Shaw still offers the quest, and the same issue occurs. Save yourself a lot of time, and just avoid doing this scenario so that you don't waste hours wondering wtf. I'll send a request to the bug team in WOW, but doubt that will result in anything productive.

If you're looking to unlock BFA for a boosted level 60 alt (to unlock world quests - I'm personally doing it to try to get the mount from Dunegorger), the quest you're looking for is Battle for Azeroth: Mission Statement
