yep, im a Belf hunter and an alliance dwarf hunter came along and killed my mobs that spawned for the quest. it bugged it good. i know cant finish it. i abandoned it at nothing, i abandoned and left area logged out, went back and still wont spawn the adds....>.>

I got around the bug in the quest by someone suggesting realm hopping. She will stand in a different location if the realm you transfer to is not bugged. you then start the quest, leave the group, and finish the killing of the demons.

Realm hopping is a proven way to do it until they fix the bug.
Install the addon Cross Realm Assist, try various servers and when you see her standing in different location then usual (not facing the entrance of the house but standing on the left side) start the quest and leave group.

Really bright putting this in an active questing area.

I completed it by standing in the outer doorway and making sure I engaged every wave that appeared.

Doesn't matter if others are attacking them or not as long as you are, it should complete.

Still bugged as of now. She stands at the floating book and nothing happens. 3 hunters just waiting beside her hoping it gets fixed.

My quest was bugged as well, BUT there IS hope! ...

My fix requires some sort of realm-hopping add-on (I used Cross-Realm Assist from www.curse.com)

What to do:
I joined a random raid group to x-realm (because ALL 5-man groups weren't pulling me to another realm)... Assuming the x-realm you have jumped to isn't bugged also, she will be in a different spot off to the left-hand side of the room (as you walk in).
I then clicked on her to interact with her; while selecting 'Manual Join' and still being in the raid group and having been pulled x-realm... This seemed to clear me from the raid (also, wasn't in a party either), as well as keep the N.Elf in the unbugged position and she was interactive after doing this.

I hope this helps some of you until Blizz decides to fix this. Good luck.

I had to use the cross realm technique also.
It was really hard to get only a group since you don't get completion in a raid.
However, after trying a few different realms and found 1 where she actually starts the process. I left the raid right after killing the last demon (the one alone with ~2.5M hp) and I got credit for the quest before being ported back to my buggy realm. It's a little tricky, but I got it on the first try so I hope there is enough time between when you leave the raid and when you get completion for the quest for this to work for others.

RE: correct position for Lyana Stardust,

When she is at 59.9, 72.3 and facing away from the door, that is the WRONG position.

When she is at 60.1, 72.2 and facing the center of the room, that is the CORRECT position.

As a Beast Mastery Hunter, I stood at next way point and found that worked for me:
/way Val'sharah 60.2, 71.7 BMH stood here YMMV

I completed it on my own realm, however, I did have to return after a few hours to see NPC in correct location.

The bugs may be fixed. She was right there to start the quest without issue. Someone else got my demon the first time, but I was able to drop the quest, start it over, and complete without further problems.

1. Abandon quest.

2. Re-accept the quest.

3. Kill the Satyr standing just at the entrance (Darkfiend Zealot is the name if I'm not mistaken.

4. Profit.

After completing In Defense of Dalaran a quest will show up by your artifact altar to empower your weapon with a 3rd relic. Hope this answers people's questions regarding the hunter's campaign for the 3rd relic.

It bugged out for me but as soon as I left the building I could engage the mobs and complete the quest. No need to drop the quest nor realm hop.

So, been realm hopping for 20 minutes now. This method does not work any more. Pretty sad, as this completly haults your hunter campaign.

Just did this today and it worked fine, no bug issues at all. Confirmed that you have to go outside the door. Also, there was no world quest active in this area while I was doing it.

so it's still bugged. hopping different groups and other stuff didn't help. BUT switching to PVP mode helped, try this out, maybe will work for you.

After trying all of the tricks here, I figured out a better way. Let the 3rd wave "Darkfiend Zealot beat on you a couple of times before you kill it. This worked every time for me as I was doing 8 hunters, its fully tested.

STILL bugged in 9.1.5. I tried joining multiple groups for the 2 Shadowlands world bosses to get on different realms but she would never move to the left side of the room where she needed to be. I turned on war mode and she was standing on the left when I returned. War mode puts you on a different layer, for anyone unfamiliar with it, so that's why she was standing in the correct place I guess.

Description

As I'm sure you've noticed, demons have taken over the vale. Their arrival has forced many of my fellow druids to flee their homes, but I refuse to go down without a fight.

Despite all this, I'm happy to provide enchantments for your weapons, but you should know that it is a delicate process that takes time and concentration, something I have little of lately.

If you're willing to shelter me from attackers, I will certainly do my best to enchant your weapons.
