Lead baron around the quest area, there are several burial mounds that he will find either some bones to dig up, or a skeletal undead mob who will also drop the quest item. There will be the chat emote " baron has found something" when the dog has found either bones or undead.

This quest awards the quest giver "Huntsman Blake" as a level 109 follower. (not listed in the quest rewards on wowhead at this time)

If Baron gets stuck and stops moving, just move out of the quest area and back in to reset him.

This was an absolutely adorable quest. As someone with an older dog who's started to slow down a little bit now and then, there's nothing like seeing him wag his tail at a new toy and play around like he was a puppy once again.

After completing In Defense of Dalaran a quest will show up by your artifact altar to empower your weapon with a 3rd relic. Hope this answers people's questions regarding the hunter's campaign for the 3rd relic.

This was fairly buggy for me today. My hunter pet sometimes refused to follow me, and one of the undead mobs was following me around but still evading. I eventually went back to where my hunter pet (and the dog) were hanging out and eventually the mob stopped evading.

Description

I'm afraid old Baron here is past his prime. His nose can't catch a scent the way it used to. Others told me to put him down, but I can't bear the thought of losing my loyal friend.

Baron was always at his best when working, though. Maybe if you let him wander through these fields and dig up some old bones, it'll be enough to awaken his senses.
