Is this quest no longer being offered on the PTR anymore? Logging with my newly made gnomish survival hunter it did not auto pop for me. Now if it is no longer being offered what do we do on the PTR to advance the phase within Stormwind as far as having the area where the demon hunters are phase in? Now that we are earning tons of shards we have no vendors to turn them in to.

Let me now I'll keep my eyes on this post to see if anyone can get back to me with an answer...

Is this quest mandatory to access Legion zones when it goes live? Is there any reason to do this on all 12 of my toons?

EDIT: The only thing you get from these quests/scenario are unique weapon models. So if you have a hunter & druid, you can unlock all 9 unique appearances with only two characters.

You must be level 98 to receive this quest when you log in. If you level up to 98 during the invasion, simply log out and then back in to start the quest.

Apparently this quest is not for Demon Hunters, I guess since there is a whole chain quest regarding the invasion they are not included on this one.

I even went to SW harbor and nothing.

Makes sense due to the fact that when the Demon Hunters end their quest line Varian is already dead and they are at the funeral with Anduin as the King.

I just submitted a screen shot (pending approval) of what the dock should look like when you are on the quest, verse the normal look. I also marked on it where the Vendor NPC is.

To have this quest, you must be level 98 or higher, and must NOT be a Demon Hunter. If you are 98 and have not been prompted for the quest yet, try relogging.

Once you complete the quest line, you will NOT be able to see the vendor anymore.

1. Legion: The Legion Returns
• Accept the quest, Legion: The Legion Returns, as it comes up on her screen when automatically logging in a level 98+ character in the Legion Pre-Launch Patch.
• Use the Stormwind Portal Stone, which you were provided, in your inventory.
• After arrival in Stormwind City, exit the Mage Tower, and travel down to the Stormwind Harbor at coords 37.1, 43.1.
• Turn in the quest to Recruiter Lee.

If you had completed the Broken Shores quest line that starts with this quest, on another toon, you can skip Broken Shores, but turning this in and selecting that you want to skip the event. After, you will be ported to Dalaran where you will start your artifact quest line.

I was trying to delete an Argent Lance I had in my bag and deleted my Stormwind Portal Stone instead. Oops. If you accidentally abandon the quest (like I did,) don't panic. You can reacquire it from the Hero's Call Board.

If you want to skip the Legion introductory quests and you have opened the new Dalaran over the Broken Isles at least on one character, the quest ender will have a new gossip option "I've heard this tale before..." that will allow you to start questing in Legion content right away.

The skip intro option will be available even after you hand in this quest and complete the next one. Don't forget to get food, armor polish, and weapon sharpening buffs before heading out into Legion!

If you abandon the quest, the fastest way to pick it up again is to log out and log in again.
It is not sufficient to simply /reloadui

UNABLE TO START THE LEGION QUESTLINE? Khadgar's Upgraded Servant Bugged? Dropped the quest and can't get it back? **Solved!**

There is an NPC for each faction:
Horde: Holgar Stormaxe
Alliance: Recruiter Lee *See edit at bottom*
that will get you where you need to go.

Simply interact with them and select this dialog option , accept the confirmation pop-up . You will be given the quest In the Blink of an Eye and teleported directly to New Dalaran where you can start your Artifact Quest and thus the Expansion. Win!

I have been looking all over for information on this issue and there has been little to be found anywhere, so I thought i'd post here in hopes that it saves other adventurers some time that ought be spent playing!

1) This quest is for non-Demon Hunters class only.

2) It is not mandatory to do this questline (20min for 2%xp...) If you get ported to Legion Dalaran with a Lock closet for instance all questline for Khadgar/class/artefact will not be available. But you can do professions and region quests.

You can bypass this quest at the SW harbor ( there is a choice to bypass it at the endquest npc, do not click: ?) this will take you to Legion Dalaran where Khadgar/class/artefact quests will be unlocked.

THEN

You can retake the quest at the Violet Citadelle in Legion Dalaran with the Npc Archivist Elysiana (leftside of the entrance). So this way you get a free SW port Item; usefull if you get ganked or if you need to port to your bank often.

The end of this questline unlocks the Illidari Camp in Stormwind, along with the Captive Wyrmtongue where you can still trade in Nethershards.

If you accidentally skip this quest on an alt that has Nethershards you want to spend, you can re-acquire the quest from Archivist Elysiana in Dalaran, The Violet Hold.

If you abandon this quest while in the special phased version of Stormwind Harbor, and then choose the option to skip the Legion intro quests from Recruiter Lee, you will be teleported to Dalaran but will be unable to start any of the Legion content.

To fix this, simply speak to Archivist Elysiana in the Violet Citadel. Choose the option to re-live past events, and this quest will re-appear in your quest log. You can now go back to Stormwind Harbor and either play through the intro or choose to skip the content again, but this time the follow-up quests will be there in Dalaran.

I'm not sure if it's correct for everyone, but, as of 10/02/2017, I am unable to receive this quest when I hit level 98. I checked my Adventure Guide and went to Stormwind to see if it would pop up, but no dice. The bad thing is that the harbor is still phased at level 98, so I was unable to complete the harbor step of the Love is in the Air quest chain.

I hope they never remove this quest.

Using a "/use Stormwind Portal Stone" macro I now have a free hearthstone to Stormwind with a 10 second cooldown :D

In 8.0, there doesn't seem to be any reason to complete this quest and lose the portal stone. I don't know if there's a level requirement to do it, but at 112 I could simply take a portal to Dalaran and start questing normally. The quests to unlock my class hall/artifacts, Suramar, Legionfall, and world quests were all available. There doesn't seem to be a way to get the Dalaran Hearthstone, but there's a permanent portal to Dalaran in Stormwind Keep anyway.

If you are reading this because your alt has this quest, i highly suggest NOT turning it in right away. i suggest choosing to skip the scenario and go straight to dalaran. if you turn the quest in, or if an addon auto turns it in, you have to do a lot to get back on track.

anyway, if you are like me and power leveled a character to bfa level before doing any legion content (during korraks revenge event, for example), you are able to turn this quest in after turning in a few of the BFA intro quests. When you get the quest on the dock to go visit the war council, you can go to turn this one in instead, or skip and go straight to dalaran if this is an alt. You do not need to get your heart of azeroth neck first. After I turned it in, it phased me and nothing showed up after that. I think you will have to complete the bfa intro and then come back later to get the correct phasing.

Okay, if you are wanting to do the Legion expansion on Alliance through Chromie after the Shadowlands release, Recruiter Lee probably won't be visible. To get around this on my level 10 toon, I accepted the Kul Tiras quest from Anduin, met Jaina on the harbor, took the boat to Boralas and when I returned to Stormwind Recruiter Lee had phased in and i was able to continue the Legion questline.

This is the Alliance version of the quest leading into Legion content. It is the same quest as it always was, just it's now also offered up by Chromie, should you opt not to continue your adventure into BFA content after reaching level 10 if you choose starters island. Not sure if you still get directed to BFA content at level 10 if you choose your racial starter zone.

Dragonflight 2023

For Alliance: Fastest way to phase Recruiter Lee is NOT to do a bunch of old quest chains for other xpacs that take you elsewhere then back. Instead, go straight to Chromie at /way 46.3 17.35 and politely ask her to Select a Different Timeline, and select The Legion Invasion. She will then immediately give you the quest Legion: The Legion Returns and you'll be on your way! Recruiter Lee is then located at /way 37 43 at Stormwind Harbor.

For Horde: Same principle works for Horde players to unlock the portal in the portal room in Orgrimmar. First find Chromie to the left of the Org Embassy. She's tiny and standing behind the bonfire near the tents to the front left of the Embassy doors at /way 41 80 after which you'll receive Legion: The Legion Returns which happens in both Org and main Durotar. You'll meet up with Holgar Stormaxe at /way 46 14 which is in the zone just outside Org's southern gates.

Both sides will be offered the option, "I've heard this tale before... <Skip the Legion introductory quests and begin your Journey in Dalaran", and given the next quest To Be Prepared(A) / (H) To Be Prepared. Enjoy your journey to New Dalaran in the Broken Isles!

NOTE: For collectors, I'd avoid skipping the intro because there are a few items that are purchasable ONLY during this new phasing of the quest from quest-only "vendors". Once you skip the chain you'll have to re-do the chain on your alts.

In Dragonflight 2023

If you are in a certain scenario where you are on a new account/2nd account and have not completed the Intro Questline on any non-Evoker character and want the Dalaran Heartstone for your new Evoker. Do not fear because after trying to figure it out for too long I have a solution.

- You must take the SW/Org portal to Azsuna and fly to Dalaran (I am Alliance)
- Talk to Innkeeper Amisi Azuregaze at /way 49.76, 40.17
She will have a replacement HearthStone for you

Why can't I do the Intro Questline on my new Evoker on this new account?
- I have no idea. Recruiter Lee at SW was in a different phase and entirely uninteractable.
- Even if you got the quest and went directly to Dalaran via portals the quest chain will not progress without Recruiter Lee.

Can someone PLEASE tell me what exactly I need to do so I can skip the legion intro? Everyone just says to complete the intro once, but I've already gone through the start of legion to getting my artifact on my main ( didn't play legion) and I still don't get the "i've heard this before" talk option with recruiter lee.

Recruiter Lee is not there. It's my only quest so I'm not sure why. Got it from Chromie to choose the timeline but it's not working. He's to be found.I don't understand

2023 New DH's trying to start the Legion questline will not find the quest in the heroes warboard, but instead, a quest in the castle labeled "Second Sight" will allow you to start the Legion Campaign & Class Hall... a friend and I spent a lot of time trying to figure this out.

Instructor Lee's phase problem was solved when I went to Archivist Elysiana. I asked him to do the legion intro again, and when he returned to the place where the instructor was, he was already correctly phased.

If you are not able to see Recruiter Lee in Stormwind Harbor check your quest log for To the Dragon Isles and abandon it. This fixed the phasing issue for an alt that never bothered to complete the quest.
