Easy soloable even if it says it is a group quest. Fly in to the Iron docks flightpoint. Make sure to stay high up on the higher levels, if you venture down to the bottom you will probebly die faster than you have time to utter a weak "yelp"!

There are ammunniton boxes and barrels scattered around the place, pick up so you have at least 30 ammunition, go to one of the cannons (not the launch ones, the suprise I felt when I was shot out into the middle of the packs instead of shooting at them was something I don't want to experience again). From the safety of the cannon see them orcs fall! Rinse and repeat.

There are elite patrols even at the higher levels sometimes, so be aware where you step. Stealth past, or wait for them to pass.

Should you have a group at hand, make sure to kill all rares, they drop more apexis crystals and gear, and contribute to the daily count. Kiting works if you don't have a tank.

This doesn't have to be done in "just" a party of 5. It can be completed with a whole raid group. Goes a lot faster with 40 people killing stuff. Probably makes it easier to find a group aswell.

Good luck and i hope these will give you some good idea on how to do it.

- Have Added some of the "SOLO" Methods.
- Will Increase in future with more about Group Method Rares and drops.

Solo Mode:
These are the first following items you want to look for...
Mine Cart Require 30x Ammo= Follows a Rail for 20 seconds, Throw Mines while your inside. 47,29
Bombardment Signal Flare - 30x Extra Potent Ammo Box = Causes 35 Yard Wide AoE Effects at your given location.
Iron Star - 20x Extra Potent Ammo Box = Roll away an iron star to crush the Iron Horde beneth it.
Burning Blade Crystal - 20x Extra Potent Ammo Box = Sends away to crush the Iron Horde (reaches aprox 50 yards)
Iron Prisoner Cage - Open Cages - 7% progress.
Iron Turret - 30x Extra Potent Ammo Box = gives you (~30 shots)
Training Manual = adds 2% to progress. (its a Book).

Note: Raid Groups wont benefit from using Mechanics or rescue Cages.
- Raid benefits however still from "books" but mainly killing.

Note: Iron Star, Bombardment Signal Flare - Can be found on most location within the Quarry.
Iron Turret road up a small hill is at: 47.48 , 30.08

- Ammunition is all from "Wooden barrels", Mine storage, Huge Metal Boxes... It is easy to find :)

Avoid using "IRON TROOP LAUNCHER" = Sends the player into suicide positions.
Or sends you safetly to the oposite side of "The Pit".

Group farming:
Rares: Fight the Power
- Primal Spirit is never garantied, a chance as bonus to gain.

Maniacal Madgard = Loot Unpopped Pustule Pendant & 1x Primal Spirit
Blademaster Ro'gor = Loot Ro'gor's Slippers of Silence & 15x Apexis Crystal
Inventor Blammo = Loot Blammo's Blammer & 13x Apexis Crystal & 1x Primal Spirit
Horgg = Loot Horgg's Bandolier & 12x Apexis Crystal & 1x Primal Spirit

10-40 Apexis Crystals.
Can drop 620-630 Gear (Uncommon to Epic).
Grants 6 to 40 gold.

Single-easy:
- Pick up an "Orange-firey" Crystal. - 5min Buff causes insane AoE effect.

You get this quest in your Garrison's Town Hall, at the War Map, which is on a table, and has a blue daily exclamation point. Fly to as far north and west in Gorgrond as you can get. There is a Flight Master at Iron Docks, pick this flight path up.

When you get there join a standard group of five: tank, healer, three DPS. Use Group Finder, Premade Groups, Find Group, and Quests. There will be many groups.

This is a raid wide quest, even if it does not say so.

Go to the group finder and select 'premade groups' -> 'custom'.
You will most likely find several raidgroups for this quest. Join one and roam with them.

To complete this quest, you must kill Orcs.

Picking up ammunition will allow you to use the guns in the nearby area. Currently there seems to be a bug when grouping with a raid and you may not get credit for your kills in the guns.

The best ones are the Iron Demolisher (costs 30 ammo) or the Iron Star(20).
I do not suggest using the Troop launcher (Most of the time it will put you in a place where you will die, the places it doesn't you don't want to be there anyway.)

You can also burn small books which you can find in the area for 2% gain.

You can do this quest as a raid~~, but Apexis Crystal and Primal Spirit won't drop while in a raid group.~~

Contrary to what people in some raid groups will say, the Iron Horde at the bottom of the pit do count towards the 'total' - If anything, in a large raid it might be easier to farm the bottom since they respawn faster and there are much more of them.
(Bear in mind Primal Spirit/Apexis Crystal does not drop in raid group)

In my opinion I have found that this is the best and most efficient way to do Assault on the Pit and can be done solo which entails using a cart for 30 Extra Potent Ammo Box and throwing grenades at groups of Orcs in the canyon.

The instructions on how to do this are as follows:

Get into The Pit using the break in the wall at (50,37)
Follow the wall to the west
Turn right upon reaching a broken down cargo trailer and follow the path it is on at (46,34)
After reaching the bottom of the path there will be an open area with a few huts and mobs hanging around, there is a fair amount of Extra Potent Ammo Box laying around here in boxes and piles of cannonballs, ignore the mobs and run straight to the cart at the edge of the cliff at (47,30) but make sure you have at least 30 Extra Potent Ammo Box before using it, if you have aggro of any of the Orcs you will lose it upon entering the cart
Throw the grenades supplied with the vehicle at the groups of Orcs in the canyon, I belive it may take more than one grenades per Orc to kill
When you reach the end there will be an Iron Troop Launcher ahead of you. Use this to get back by firing fully to the left and aim to land on the cliff level with the top of the crane to the left of the tower or use the vehicle UI by adjusting inclination to the middle of the 5 bars in red
The area with the huts and the cart on the edge of the cliff should be on your left
Rinse and repeat!

Each cart trip should earn about 25% progress and last about 20 seconds but make sure you have Extra Potent Ammo Box which can be collected by right clicking on Extra Potent Ammo Box piles which are not hard to find, you will need 30 to operate the cart.

Also known as The PITA.

Be very careful about stepping out of "The Pit". If you do you will lose all of your collected ammo. This is especially easy to do at the northwestern bridge. There is a large cannon here, a slope downwards and a bridge across. If you run up the slope and onto the bridge you have to cut it very close or you'll leave the pit area.

You will also leave the Pit any time you move to the "upper" plateau.

Strategy and Mob Percentages

Pick up the ammunition in boxes and barrels and go to the Iron Demolisher (costs 30 ammo) or the Iron Star (costs 20 ammo) and shoot the Orcs. Do not go to the Iron Troop Launcher as it will shoot you.

Destroying Training Manual or freeing prisoners in Iron Prisoner Cage also awards credit. The quest mobs hit pretty hard as they are intended for a 5-player group to defeat.

Ninja groups abound. This has devolved into mostly ninja groups, which can be identified by the lack of Primal Spirit drops. They should drop by the dozens every minute. If they do not then the Group Leader is collecting them all. As I write this they are worth 50g each, at the AH on my server, after being converted to Savage Blood.

Remember to bring your Bodyguard follower to this quest since, when you use the flare, the deaths count to increase the reputation with them.

When you use the iron stars, or the cannons, you wont get reputation with them.

I made a video soloing as tank this quest, and to make it easier, you can use the Burning Blade Crystal and Gronn Cannon.

A simple SOLO spot for just grinding kills from 0 to 100%:

This is for those of you who, like me, don't feel like messing around with all of the other various ways to raise your completion bar (picking up ammo, doing things with said ammo, iron stars, etc.)

The non-elite Iron Laborers that are found all over the pit each count for about 1% per kill. However, most of the time they have an elite that patrols around them. The area I'm posting about has MANY Iron Laborers with NO elite patrol; and they respawn very, very quickly.

Coordinates are around 48, 23. I will post a picture of the area on the map as well as a detailed photo of the spot I'm talking about.

2 things to keep in mind: Unless you have invisibility potions or spells, you may need to suicide yourself once to get down here initially (I found this spot by accident after falling off a nearby cliff). Once you get there, the orcs are very easy to kill and you should be able to hit 100% and hearth out in no time (depending on how many mobs your character is able to handle at once, of course).
The other thing is that while there is no elite patrol near these mobs, there ARE elites "nearby", so just be mindful of your surroundings and try to always pull out of the way to the main corner (see second posted image for clarification).

This is perhaps the only group daily apexis quest you'll need to do to get your Securing Draenor achievement, which is part of the meta achievement to get your Draenor flying.

I spent agonizing months waiting for one daily to complete the Securing Draenor achievement. I had no idea, you could do that manually through Scouting Missives. I am hoping this posts helps save some of you some time and agony.

Sergeant Crowler (A) and Sergeant Grimjaw (H) in your garrison sells the Scouting Missives. They are picked up as a quest items, and upon completion, turned in to Scout Valdez (A) or Shadow Hunter Ukambe (H), next to your daily mission table.

Also: you can complete a missive, even if you have already completed the daily from your garrison table for that day. I did Pillars of Fate (table) and then Iron Siegeworks (missive), back to back.

I've been waiting for this one to pop as a daily as well. What is strange is that there are 12 missions for the achievement, and the quartermaster sells 12 missives. However there is a missive for "Lost Veil Anzu" but its not part of the achievement, and the achievement lists "Assault on the Pit" for which there is no missive. Tricky Blizzard....any ideas?

I have seen the pit quest on my druid but didn't realize that it's the one missive you can't purchase. I don't have a lot of extra resources on my druid so when flying hit I purchased all the missives on my mage and then burned through them last night.. only to be left with a single missing missive... THE PIT. Now I either have to wait for it to make it around in the quest from my garrison .. or scrounge up enough resources to purchase all of the missing missives I need to get the achievement on my druid.

Blizzard you never cease to amaze me with your ability to make me hate even the things I love about this game.

Easy tutorial to do Securing Draenor:

-Buy all the missives.
-Do all the assaults in a couple of hours.
-Realize that the pit doesn't have a missive.
-Lie down.
-Try not to cry.
-Cry.

PD:I'll edit this when i complete this thing to share about how many days took me to take this quest to appear on my Garrison.

For those waiting for this quest in order to complete the achievement be warned that the quest expires and disappears from your quest log in less than 24 hours. It *finally* came up on my table yesterday but I didn't have time to actually do it so I picked it up to do it today only to find out it's gone.

I'm trying to complete the Pathfinder requirements but 'The Pit' and Shattrath Harbour objectives aren't showing up for me? I got the rest just not these ones, any idea what I've done wrong?

I would say....do the Pitt as soon as you see it on your table cause it does not come around often. I have been waiting for over a week now to have it show up. I check everyday. It is the only thing that I have left to do so that I can fly.

Can anyone tell me...if they know...how often it shows up? Today's table looks like the same as yesterday (yes, I waited the right amount of time). I thought they were suppose to change daily though. It is a bummer sitting and waiting for this one.

As of 6.2.3, you can now buy a Scouting Missive for The Pit at your garrison.
