Part of the WoD version of the arena quests:

The fights are rather simple, and I was easily able to solo them with item level 590. If you're just in questing greens it's probably a good idea to bring a friend or two. Not that the quests are not labeled to be recommended for more than one player.

Raketalon is a big kind of spirit bird. He can spawn three different adds, having different abilities. Make sure to focus them down ASAP.

Upon turning in the quest, Dexyl mentions the word "dollars". Seems a little out-of-place in the World of Warcraft.

Her cyclon ability can be avoided by constantly moving and avoiding the white circles on the ground, which can be hard to se.

One of the raven's offspring/adds has remained in my ring of trials as a ghost with hearts above its head. Is this normal?

This one was by far the most difficult to defeat on my paladin. The trick (for me) was to get Twister down ASAP, while being sure not to get got in the whirlwind effect. This meant doing focused range attacks on that add anytime it was up.

This quest CAN be done as a shadow priest. It takes a while but you can do it.

- Mount your Telaari Talbuk (which will allow you to stay mounted while in combat)
- Target Raketalon
- Kite around the ring, in a circle OUTSIDE the pillars. If you ever did Little Red Riding Hood in Kara, this is the same thing.
- Keep him dotted with Shadow Word: Pain. An add-on to help you monitor when it runs out would help here.

You will outrun Raketalon and the adds.

If you try the stand-and-fight approach, you'll get toasted. Keep moving and you'll live to fight another day.

Not sure if this actually doable as a warlock (or maybe anyone with only cloth armour). Being mounted doesn't help, as you get dismounted almost immediately, and you aren't able to use any spells, as whenever you try it just says that you "can't do this at the moment". So other than being able to hit three mobs over the head with a stick, you don't really have any tools to attack the mob with if you're not a melee fighter.

After you defeat her you see her ghost and the ghosts of her offspring and they have hearts over their heads as if they're happy to finally be free.

-On my shadow priest I just kited around the *OUTSIDE* of the pillars inside of the ring. I used my regular DPS rotation except for Mind Flay and defeated Raketalon easily.

Frost Mage, it's barely doable.

Station your elemental in the center.

As others said, stay outside the pillars. Keep moving! It helps that I took the Frostwolf War Wolf.

If you cast invisibility because you're about to die, it will reset the fight.

Have your elemental burn down Raketalon while you run, run, run from the adds. It's not a quick fight for cloth casters. I dropped my Rune Of Powers on opposite sides and would get off a shot at Rake every run around the circle. I am not sure how Mirror Image would work -- this was not pleasant nor fun for my frost mage. For my DKs and my Paladin, it was quick and easy.

Stuns seem to work on Rake, but the adds seem to possibly be immune from stuns. They are all immune from Polymorph. The elemental will draw aggro from Rake with water jet if you don't attack, but the adds seem to know to chase you. They can stun or dismount you, or both.

If you stop, you die. If they stun you, might as well cast invisible at earliest convenience to reset the fight and save yourself repair costs and the walk back from the Rez Angel.

Ice Nova is your friend.

Also, as is the case with WOW, weapons and helms just don't drop until you don't need them. So it always helps me tremendously to have a WOD crafted 4/4 upgrade ilvl 675 weapon ready to go as soon as I ding 90. It makes the biggest difference with a caster, not as much with ranged and especially not with melee / plate. Questing drops plate / melee gear earlier than a nice 620 gun or staff -- wowhead filters will show you what to plan for, as these are guaranteed drops from rares or quests.

After you hit 100, garrison campaigns drop necklace, shoulder, chest, both trinkets (eventually). 615 then 630 then 645. It's really easy to get average ilvl 615, a little harder for 630, and then drops get a lot slower, especially after 645. The legendary ring quest gets you a nice ring right away and it upgrades swiftly. So I always make my WOD crafted items to be the weapon (fully upgraded at 90), the helm, and then one other thing, usually the belt or legs. If you hold out on spending apexis crystals until you can upgrade all the way to ilvl 675, then it pays to wait. That grind is long, even longer if you just got a 645 piece and the very next day there's a ilvl 645 garrison campaign for that very same slot!

Just did Raketalon on an Arcane Mage...you can use your Telaari Siege Engine. I just hit him once with Arcane Blast, threw out my mirror images, blinked, jumped in siege engine & took him down. I stayed in the siege engine turned in quest, picked up next one & took out the next guy, rinse repeat, took third one to 3/4 finished him up easily. Last guy was easy, just remember to look away when he cast the radiance spell, can't steal or counter this one, but wasn't hard to take down, I did pop mirror images & time warp.

Destro lock, did it at 100. I used my VW for the first time in more than forty levels, and ported my butt out of the white circles (which are extremely hard to see) using Demonic Circle and Demonic Teleport (setting the gates up at the two pillars and the circle about where Raketalon touches down). A 100 VW can easily withstand what Raketalon and her adds dish out even if you're not specced to support it: after the whole fight was done, he still had better than half his health left.

With regards to the tornados - you do have to run a pretty fair distance away because the tornados will suck you in from several yards out. They will also keep you immobilized for several seconds AFTER the debuff has officially "gone away," and I have not figured out how to break that yet.

However, I tried it once with the Wor'var Demolisher - and they despawned as soon as I had the thing summoned (which took about seven tries due to interrupts). So if Alli can do it on their demolisher, whatever, but Horde cannot.

I can see where this fight is going to be a pain for melee classes. Good luck!

Description

You may have defeated Crushmaul, but the party's over now...you've got another fight!

The Highmaul take gladiatin' seriously; so when they built the Ring of Trials, they searched far and wide for the most brutal creatures they could find!

You're up against a dread raven the ogres are calling Raketalon! I'm telling you, <name>, something about that bird just ain't right...I think it truly enjoys the act of killing!

Raketalon toyed with the last gladiator for hours before eating him.
