I did care so I used the sleeping powder.

The whole point of being Alliance is to actually have principles. No reason to kill the Dragonhawks when there's a better solution.

And I hope no one randomly kills the displaced Sunreavers in the streets, along the same lines (Jaina wanders around the perimeters and ports them to the Violet Hold).

The grey and red dragonhawks (the ones that look like this mount) don't have death animations. When you kill them they just freeze in place.

Since its not made clear either in the quest notes or here I'll spell it out. If you want to use the quest item to put the mobs to sleep, you have to fight them down to about 30% health. You will then get a message in the chat box saying they can now be put to sleep. Trying to use the item before that will get an "Invalid target" message. Hope this helps.

Took me two hours to figure this out, but hopefully this will save the rest of you a lot of time/frustration:

1.) IF YOU NEED TO GET BACK IN PHASE TO FINISH/TURN IN QUESTS, go back to Krasarang Wilds and talk to the NPC Seamus Goldenkicks <Portal-Mage> at Lion's Landing.

2.) IF YOU WANT TO PREVENT/FIX THE BUG FROM HAPPENING, I am pretty sure I know what is causing it. Go back to Theramore and tell the NPC Zidormi that you want to be taken back to the present. If your Theramore is currently phased to the past, then you will have phasing problems when you try to enter the Sunreaver's section of Dalaran to complete these quests. If your Theramore is currently phased to the present, then you should be fine.

Sadly impossible to reduce the health down to 35% in order to use the item as a naked Level 120 Night Elf druid, without the poor creatures dying to one punch... Killing them does count as subduing for the purposes of the quest so it still completes but no humane option seemingly available now.

Found an easy solution to one-shotting everything! Soft Foam Sword.

Sold by many NPCs like Jepetto Joybuzz for 50g, this toy works perfectly and has no cooldown.

As of today, at least, killing the Dragonhawks counts as subduing them. No need to worry about 35% health and quest items.

As of 10.1.05

This quest is level 15 BUT the mobs are level 35.

So, IF like me you're F2P and capped at level 20, then you can't do this quest even with twink gear.

For MoP Remix - killing alone did not count towards the quest.
Also had some priest and party standing in the centre, pulling all the dragon hawk and quickly nuking them all down on the spot, so if they are already “tapped” then it won’t let you use the item to sleep and complete the quest! What a mess that was 🤦🏻‍♀️

Description

Compliant Sunreavers will be sent to the Violet Hold. Defiant ones are put to the sword.

NONE are to escape.

The Sunreavers keep their dragonhawk mounts on Krasus' Landing. Take this dust, and use it to render them incapable of flying.

Or kill them. I don't care.
