This may be one of the most annoying dailies I've done in awhile. The NPC accompanying you (or at least, Protector Yi) will pull EVERY mob in sight, there are constant patrols that will walk close enough for the NPC to grab them, and the respawn rate is ridiculously quick here.

Be prepared for massive pulls. You may want to even dismiss the NPC.

Warlock82 is correct. Furthermore, the shadow crash ability that the deadtalkers do targets people from 100+ yards away, even when they aren't in combat. If you don't dodge it, you're pulled into combat...makes it almost impossible to mount up when you're done. Your companion will leave almost immediately to go bash on someone else's spawns, too, so...fun times. I recommend you do this one last and just run back to the garrison when you're done with it.

On top of the mob issues relayed above which can be very aggravating, the quest completion detail for this daily is somewhat confusing. You actually need to kill the spirits and collect their "Ancient Spirit Dust" which you'll find in your inventory. Take 4 of these to one of the yellowed ribcage things called an "Ancient Corpse", which are lying about the area, and use the wheely until you have 8.

For some reason I am completely incapable of doing this quest without taking damage.

No, not because it's too hard. Because even when I don't take damage (Using recount to make sure I'm not taking any damage at all), it will not count towards my achievement.

As a Priest, it's not really hard to not take damage. PW:S will protect you from your ~~dumb~~ tank NPC's failure to hold aggro, and you can attack from 40 yards away.

I'm not sure what on earth is triggering the invisible aura that you get when you accept the quest - but it is NOT damage. Perhaps there is a glitch with the homing Shadow Crashes (That do no damage so I'm not sure why they even exist) that will trigger it. Even if they did do damage, I have PW:S on the whole time.

(EDIT: I have completed this achievement. Thanks to Marchen on the tip...couldn't imagine that absorption would take off the aura as well...took a while but I managed to get it off of dumb luck before getting Exalted with the Shado-Pan.)

Don't bother going out of your way to track down a Deadtalker Crusher. You will end up pulling at least one when you go after the Deadtalker Corpsedefilers, whether you want to or not.

Mages, be prepared to deal with multiple, sequential mobs coming out of nowhere, some of which are elite. The elites don't have any nasty tricks, but you will be assaulted on all sides more than once. Many of these are respawns that Warlock82 mentioned. Just when you're beginning to feel grateful for the Blizzard / Arcane Explosion combo, an elite will sneak up on you from behind and make your whole day a lot more interesting than it was before.

I noticed several of the elites broke from Frost Nova in nanoseconds, which has the same effect as its not working part of the time. Frozen Orb does a great job on the Defiled Spirits, though. Your best bet is to just clear any nearby elites before you go after the Defiled Spirits. Much easier that way but plan on spending a lot of time killing elite trash mobs because of the rapid respawn rate. If you have the time, it can be an interesting challenge and having Protector Yi (or whomever) handy to turn in the quests saves you some travel time. I got 300 rep, not 250 as advertised.

Description

We have always left the Deadtalkers alone. For so long, they were just responsible for maintaining the sacred burial grounds of the yaungol tribes. Now, though, they are practicing dark magic, defiling the corpses of their former clanmates... I know not where they learned those dark magics, or why they no longer treat their dead with respect, but we do not have time to find out. We need to stop them.
