You have to wait for the convoy to spawn, which happens at One Keg. Once it spawns, you'll see a yellow dot on the map which is the convoy's current location. It will travel west, and groups of mobs will spawn and try to kill the convoy members. You can heal the convoy leader, who is the only one fighting with you. The escort ends about halfway to Kota Basecamp.

Note that the Sha of Anger will occasionally spawn near this route. If there is a group attacking it, the Sha will deal 80k damage every few seconds to a random target - a target not necessarily in combat with it. In other words, if you're escorting the grummles on this quest while the Sha is being attacked nearby, get ready to fail.

I waited quite a while for the convoy to come to One Keg. I took a walk down the trail to the Waystation and found a single Trail Packer stuck with fear. He was not going to move no matter how many Hozen you killed that were attacking him.

You have to let him be killed, don't try and make him move by killing off the attackers, it won't work. Once he dies, the convoy resets at One Keg.

This quest truly sucks. Firstly there's an interminable wait for a convoy if one actually exists at all. Then when you finally find one you can't get past the 88 Elite mobs for love nor money. So the entire quest is a bust.

I rarely get frustrated to this degree with any quests, but ..... grrrr.

If you choose to join caravan already on trail instead of waiting for next to spawn look to see if the two armed guys are dead. If they are dead the other ones with packs will just bug out in perma-fear. You gotta wait for them to die then restart from One-keg. Spear dudes will spawn an kill em slowly. The caravan wont pull the elite mobs but you can so be mindfull to give them a wide berth and kill the lil non-elite ones attacking caravan.

Odd thing happened for me here. I found the convoy perma-feared just outside Burlap Waystation. I ran back to One-Keg and waited to see if it would respawn. When it didn't, I went back and they were still there.

On a whim I tried to kite a nearby Hozen to them to see if it would kill them. It actually dropped aggro just before reaching the convoy.

However, a few seconds after I got the credit for completing the escort. The convoy un-feared and ran into Burlap Waystation and I was able to turn in the quest.

Has anyone else tried waiting with them to see if they unfear and continue like this?

not always getting credit at their destination point. one of my characters had to escort 4 times before quest would complete.

edited after i figured out how un-fear bug the convoy npcs

Done this quest several times on alts before and never had a problem. But...

Trying to do this quest on yet another alt, and a convoy doesn't seem to want to spawn. The convoy icon on my map never leaves One Keg while I have the quest.

Edit: Ticket returned today stating this quest is bugged and currently being worked on by the development team.

there is no bug atm with that quest cuz i thought there is but you see the caravan on your minimap in order to see the convoy you need to be near the quest giver npc just back of it you will see the convoy on your minimap.

Still getting the stuck with fear problem as of patch 5.3 :(

After letting what few Broketooth Spear-Havers there were slowly attack and kill the Trail Packer(s), the convoy re-spawned immediately at Brother Lintpocket (not the intersection).

As has been stated before, the quest will not complete until you and the convoy reach the spot around 53, 66 - just before the small hill where you turn in the quest to Brother Trailscenter. Also, you must wait for the Grummle Trail Guide to cast The Burlap Blessing on everyone (you included) for the quest to complete.

The caravans are made up of different types of Grummles, with different characteristics.

The Trail Guides are the armed escorts for the Grummle convoys. Unlike the other Grummles, these Grummles will fight and taunt enemies, and will actually call out for heals on occasion. However, they're at a disadvantage, due to the fact that after each fight their health will not be instantly and fully restored.

For the Trail Packers and Trail Yakkers in a convoy, the exact opposite is true. Although armed, they will not fight at all, their health is restored to full after each fight..

Keep in mind that there is incense holders along the trail that you can light, that will give the group, as well as yourself, a heal over time.

Found a group of them frozen with fear, killed the Broketooth spear-heaverthat were attacking them, still frozen, then i started killing the broketooth tosser on the path in front of them and the one in the field next to them, and they unfroze.

This is nearly impossible to complete if the Sha of Anger is engaged in combat with someone. Even as a passerby, the Sha may cast a spell on you that directs you to attack whoever instigated combat with him.

Always wait out the Sha fight until he is killed, or even help! But don't try to escort your grummles- even if they make it safely, you may be aggressive towards them (under the spell) and not get credit.

I did this 4 times before I figured out that you need to keep the trail guide alive since he is the one that gives the blessing and that enables you to complete the quest. He is healable, so I had to balance healing him and killing the attackers. Hope this helps!

Every now and then, you will see about ten Grummles with four yaks enter the villain, and they will fade away.

THIS IS NOT the group you need. So ignore them. The real group is four grummles and no livestock.

If your Grummles are feared (You can find your Grummles on the map) go along the path a little and find the first group of Broken tooth spear-heavers. Kill all of them and that should help you along.
Also, if you have Warmode on, Be careful, you pass the Sha of Anger, and People from Both Factions show up.
I had to do this twice because a High leveled person thought killing a 85 questing character is fair. (I know, don't go into Warmode if you don't want to PvP.)

Kun Lai Summit's getting a bit overpopulated and there aren't enough Luckydos to go around, so it's for the best...

Protect a group of grummles travelling to the Burlap Waystation. At least one grummle must survive.

If you lose your grummles, you can search the Burlap Trail or return to One Keg and wait for the next group to leave.
