Once you gather the Boiling Cauldron, it will follow you like a pet. You CAN mount up to return the cauldron, it will still follow you. Just be sure to not travel too far ahead of it, or it will despawn. I lost it several times because I wasn't giving it time to catch up.

Be careful, mobs in the area will attack your cauldron, even the neutral tricksters.

If the "Returned" part isn't complete, you lost the cauldron before you reached the turn-in. It doesn't mean you have to get one and take it back to where you picked it up.

For those of you who returned to quickly and lost your cauldron on the way back, the coordinates of the cauldron are 37,17.

Since the map doesn't show you where the cauldron is after the first part of the quest is complete, I had some trouble remembering where it was when I had to go retrieve it again.

i originally was on mount and lost the cauldron and went back. you have to ride for a few seconds that stop for the whole trip so the cauldron keeps up. very annoying. also those tricksters that are around, they will try to take your cauldron or something if you pass to close. if you do, your cauldron will slow down as they are on it. so be aware of that cause you may lose it even if you are stopping on and off.

go slow and watch the cauldron following you. if you lose it, you have to pick it up again

Return with cauldron to Groundskeeper Wu at 41.61, 23.70. For those of you without coordinates, he's standing in front of mailbox by Paur's Pub, easy to find if you turn on mailbox tracking.

You can (slowly) drag this cauldron all around the Jade Forest without it despawning; no mobs will attack it other than the tricksters near where it is originally found.

It will disappear immediately when you change zones.

walk instead of running (use the / key next to your numlock) to avoid losing the cauldron.
also, use numlock so you don't hafta hold down your forward button(s).

I'm a Boomchicken and I had to do it three times cause of those little buttfaces. I used Entanglement if i saw one near and then ran from my life. I suggest you do the same :)

Not sure if it was meant to be a play on words but it seemed odd to me that I had to carry it on my back so to speak. In Chinese if they say you carry a pot on your back that means your getting blamed for whatever bad happened. Ha

Travel to 37.8 17.6 spot and take Boiling Cauldron near Mother Wu. You have to bring it back to Groundskeeper Wu by pulling behind you.
You also have to protect cauldron from mobs as it has health pool and can be killed (you have to start you travel again). You can mount while you pulling the cauldron, just keep distance.

L45 Destruction Warlock, playing a non-melee spellcaster for the first time in about 15 years. It's a revelation and really stretching my brain (or what's left of it after living thru the 60s and later pursuing a life in trial court). Anyway. I really cannot abide this kind of quest, though I suppose there are enough elements to justify it. It's no problem getting to the hut and grabbing a cauldron (you complete 2 or 3 quests along the way (tigers and tricksters), but they are not difficult. However, you have to survive any number of mob assaults on the road back, some from tricksters and some from tigers (of course, tigers do not live or hunt in packs, but what me worry?), and some from both at once So while the quest is heavy on AOE, you also have to kill the individual targets. In a way it's similar to the opening stage of dungeons like Ragefire Chasm where you are attacked by 5-7 hellhounds, making you use two (and arguably 3) skills in your arsenal. So I'm willing to concede it has some socially redeeming value. Some. Not much. But some. You can't just race past the mobs because they will chase you indefinitely, and increase in numbers along the way, so you need an AOE/melee strategy and rotation in place. You can ride a mount with the cauldron in tow but you will probably lose it because tigers and tricksters will attack it behind your back and kill it (yes, the cauldron does have "life"). It doesn't really help to try to wipe out the trickster population on your way to the hut because they respawn with maddening speed. So go in prepped for AOE fighting but have melee skills ready at hand because you will use both. Other than that, easy-peasy (like most of what you encounter in Panderia).

Obtain a Boiling Cauldron from Mother Wu in the Waxwood Forest, then return to Groundskeeper Wu in the Tian Monastery.

Description

Some of our trainees have... larger-than normal appetites. We have occasionally had difficulty supplying enough food for all of them. In times like these, we have to ask for help.

A kindly older woman, who lives in a small house to the northwest, has agreed to make some stew for our trainees. All you need to do is go and get it.
