Molten Lords are mobs in the Firelands. Killing one will unlock the quest for you, after which you need to visit Grommash Hold in Orgrimmar or the Wizard's Sanctum in Stormwind to pick up the quest.

You do not have to have defeated any bosses from the previous tier. That was a requirement we ultimately decided to get rid of.

I have a Cho'gall and Al'Akir kill.
I don't have a Nefarian kill from BWD.
I didn't even enter the Firelands raid instance.

Today Coridormi was giving me this quest.

Ported to Dalaran and use the portal from there to get to Caverns of Time.

Talked to the dragon on the top and got a free flight down. (so i went and got some ice-cream^^)

Talked to "Anachronos" that dragon is placed in the middle of the "room""cave" what ever you want to call it, HARD TO MISS =)

And then when i completed it, i got this new quest.

OK this sucks. got the quest, gone to COT, but cant get close enough to anachronos to hand in quest.... wtf? He is on the central platform, and there is nowhere close enough to edge to hand question, and, obviously you cant get up there. what am i doing wrong?
Or is it that the portal should take you to him on the platform, but portal just bugged?

This is a really great quest to pick up on a character that you don't plan to ever get the legendary on. So long as you never finish this quest you have a very very convenient port to the heart of the Caverns of Time from Stormwind.

So do you still have to have raid completions for this quest line? Can I get this without the kills in the raids, I don't seem to have the quest availible in the captial

As of MoP, it appears you don't need to kill a Molten Giant in Firelands before you can get this.

Ok, so for those like me who didn't know what this quest was when you killed the Molten Lord on a caster and accepted the quest anyways, do not go and clear Firelands otherwise you would have to wait til the raid reset to start working on this if you wanted Dragonwrath, Tarecgosa's Rest I learned this the hard way so I hope I am saving you a bit of aggravation.

This quest is completely pointless now in 2019 since we have a portal directly to the Caverns of Time.

Don't be an idiot like me, if you get the quest and won't see any NPC in the caverns, check your quest log: you may have a quest that phases you until you delete/complete it. In my case, it was the Boralus tailoring one.

I started this quest today and went to Caverns of Time to NOT find Anachronos.

It turns out I started a tailoring quest in Boralus for Synchronous Thread that for whatever reason I abandoned midway through the chain. Upon returning to Boralus Timeweaver Delormi was there with the quest for the next part of the chain. I accepted and followed through.

Once you finish the entire quest chain (roughly 10-15 minutes of work) you get the Synchronous Thread recipe. I then went back to Dalaran and deleted the "A Legendary Engagement" quest for good measure, teleported back to CoT and Anachronos is there.
