This quest has been significantly nerfed, dropping the amount of necessary items to one and decreasing the rarity of the item. The completion text still says "items" (plural), though.

I killed around 30 flatland cougars and none of them dropped the item ... I thought this quest might be bugged

Got it almost emidiately, only killed 2 cougars.

Picked mine up at 51:44 after killing 3 cougars. I don't know if this is relevant, but after Metzgermeister killed about 30 and got nothing? Worth a shot...

How fortunate! :) I did this quest, and while I was running around looking for cougars, I found the rare mob Mazzranache and her tiny babies; Razzranache, Hazzranache, Jazzranache & Spazzranache :) Serendipity indeed :)

Apparently only select cougars come equipped with femurs...

Description

My grandfather told me stories about his battles with a strider named Mazzranache. He told me of its demonic red eyes, razor-sharp talons and venomous bite.

As fortune would have it, while traveling across the plains, I encountered it, and it took a nasty bite from my shoulder. He was as terrible as my grandfather described. I have gathered all the parts of the remedy I need to cure myself... except a flatland cougar femur.

I grow weaker by the moment... please, help me.
