1. Use the whistle to call a hippogryph.
2. Fly south past the Battlescar Valley, to Thal'darah Grove
3. Chase after the Helpless Young Druid's and pick them up on the mount.
4. Fly back to and drop off your passenger next to the hippogryph master Teloren.
5. Repeat until you have rescued 5 of the Helpless Young Druid's.

If you want to check out the Night Elf town in Thal'darah Grove's do it now, because the next quest destroys the area.

If anyone is having a problem flying back...once you have the Druid with you....just hit the "space bar" and you will be able to fly again

Feel free to use this quest to fly South to get the FP at Farwatcher's Glen after you get the 5 Druids. You can just take the FP back to Thal'darah Outlook.

I was moving really slow. I mean that hippogrpyh was practically creeping (and I was using the Soar button). I finally figured out to hit the space bar and that sped her up tremendously!

Also, my bird died! Not sure why. I went back and reviewed the log and nothing hit me. I think I was "soaring" too much and she died of exhaustion. Had to hearth back and fly back to Thal'darah Outlook.

Just FYI.....

ETA: Now that I think about it, I bet I could have just used the whistle and called another ride.

Some items I had issues with that will hopefully help others:

1. How to control the hippogryph:
i) to take off and fly higher use the space bar
ii) to fly downwards use the right mouse button, although it seems to be a bit temperamental

2. Once I got to Thal'darah Grove I wasn't sure where to fly back to (didn't really took notice as I thought I would be directed) - take the students back to Thal'darah Overlook

My hippogryph was really bugged; it looked like it was running on the ground the entire time I was flying.

Correction.

1. Use the whistle to call a hippogryph.

HELP: If flying slow, Press the Jump Key to move faster.

If you want to check out the Night Elf town in Thal'darah Grove's do it now, because the next quest destroys the area.

I agree the graphics for the hippogryph is very disappointing. I had a lot of difficulty getting the thing to go down, the right mouse only works once it seems.
Instead I just hop off the hippogryph, they provide you with a nice parachute, float down, call the gryph again, snag a kid and go back. Drop the kid off, go back to the two, jump off, float down, rinse, repeat.
The right mouse down does seem to work all the time when dropping the elflings off. But rather than tempt fate, I have been coming in low, and rising just high enough to go over the lip of the cliff where the flight point is, just in case.

I was seriously disappointed with this quest. And the reason why was because as soon as my Hippogryph started "flying" it just appeared as if it was running through the air, no wings or anything unless i was standing still.

When i started the quest, the young druids werent there, i searched in all the buildings.
Incase someone else has this problem, I flew back to the overlook and got off the mount and got back on it and then flew back and the druids were there.

Have same problem as u, either the druids layer arent there, or when i get up to the handin place, it says im moving, so can drop druid of.
Doesnt work for me the get of mount thing, the red mark thing wont let me off. So keep relogging to try again. Been trying for 2days now. 3/5druids delievered, and countless relogs

its still broken either no druids r there or if you start in the grove then no1s in the overlook
and you cant dismount only thing that helps is to relog then you either end up in a cave near the grove or in mirkfallon lakes graveyard dropping the quest and reacquire doesnt help tried for about a week and i still have zero rescued :(

I had no issues doing the quest while doing my Loremaster stuff for Stonetalon, on Cenarion Circle as of 4.1.. Maybe they hotfixed it?

As someone who's levelled a few Horde characters through the zone (and felt terrible every time I saw that bomb land), I was so glad to get this quest and realise not all the young druids died. Still hate Kromgar for doing it though!

Too far to fly to pick up each druid, and way too many druids needed rescuing. Slow and tedious quest.

Remember to spam the Soar ability as soon as the CD expires.

You can fly above Cliffwalker Post in order to receive credit towards Explore Stonetalon Mountains. Just make sure you hold the space bar down in order to reach maximum altitude before flying over so that you don't get shoot at.

This is apparently an opportunity to get Going Down?.

Use Thal'darah's Hippogryph Whistle in Thal'darah Overlook, then exit to the south. At the start of the downhill ramp, where the ground texture changes, there's a cliff on your right side (west). Fly up towards the top of the cliff, until the zone changes to "Stonetalon Mountains", even though you're still hovering over the ramp. Then wait a few seconds for the Hippogryph to throw you off (with a parachute), and drift to safety.

And here's a valuable lesson -- do NOT quit/exit the game midflight! I had to do that the other night, and when I logged back in, no hippogrphy and I went falling to my death. YIKES!

Many of the comments here imply people struggled with the griffon staying on the ground/going too slowly.
I suppose if you're low level and unfamiliar with flying mounts, this might be a problem.

Basically you have to be in the air to fly. Otherwise you just run on the ground. So press space-bar to go up and all will be well. ;)
Like swimming, space-bar moves you up.
And you now have 3 directions of movement, so bear this in mind when controlling your direction.

The thing that caught me however....
The quest description doesn't mention the whistle; and I hadn't noticed it appear as a quest item.
So I ran around hunting for his griffon until eventually coming here to found out about "blowing the whistle". :/
