The replacements are medium sized yellow boxes with brown strings around them.

They can be found around the buildings and citizen's in the Kajaro Field, they took quite a while to spawn for me because someone had recently taken them, so if you can't see any just be patient they will spawn eventually.

Boxes are also all over Drudgetown, you can find them while you complete "Do It Yourself"

It's worth noting that looting the boxes does not dismount you from your Hot Rod, so you can zoom around picking them up a bit faster.
