Garm's Bane starts at 42, 81 and goes east.

The best thing to do is stand one area and put down tons of the land mines close together because it takes 2 to kill any of the invaders. Took about 5 minutes to get them all dead so not too bad was rather quick.

You don't need to use mines at all if you don't want to.

If you can do 50% dmg or more, or even kill them before they get to the zappers that finish them off (mines, or regualr dps), then you get credit for them.

I just went pretty far out and picked them off before they got to the zappers. They never stop running though, but as hunter this was np for me with a concussive shot it slowed them down enough to do the job.

Fun quest if it wasn't for the horde Priest that come landing in my mine field blowing everything up before there was even 1 mob killed. The person kept on doing it for like a 1min.

Got the quest done, and saw him doing it too so I returned the favor. :P

Go to Garm's Bane, North East of K3 --- Once there you will see there is a protective "zapping" border killing the stampede that is trying to escape.

With your back to this electric-type fence, move forward a few paces to where you can see the stampede's route between the trees.

Make a line of landmines from Left to Right with only little spaces between the landmines.

You have an unlimited supply of landmines, and next to no cooldown, so you can lay them down very quickly.

Just keeping that line of landmines up gave me my 12 kills almost instantly.

Comments on here say you need a couple landmines to take down each kill --- placing them closer together will allow 1 landmine to set off a second landmine.

You definitely want to avoid placing landmines far apart, this does not work.

It should be noted that you do not take damage from the mines nor do the mobs agro to you. All you have to do is stand there and place mines.

You don't have to use your landmines at all for this quest in most cases. They get zapped by beams located near the "danger" signs so all you need to do is tag them.

Stand just inside the zone where they charge, and start casting any instant spell just once at them. (I.e. Moonfire, what I used) If you don't have a cooldown on the cast, you can finish this within 30 seconds easily. They travel in very large packs so if your good about your tagging, forget about the mines and be done with it.

Death Grip is a really mean thing to use on this. Set down a bunch, stand in the middle, then Death Grip one of the Magnataurs, and watch the fireworks...

For those of you who remember, Garm is one of the Zerg broods from Starcraft. The fact that these monsters are 'rushing' to attack might be a connection between the two games. I wouldn't put it past Blizzard. :P

Just find a good spot where they end up running through more concentrated then the other areas. Spam the land mines everywhere and quest complete. =]

Just mass spawn mines in a close area so mobs get hitted by mines twice or more, i got 7 kills at ones. Hope it helps.

this is a fun quest what i did, is i set mines like a net near the end of garms, stack them 2x and then move, when one explodes replace them, relly fun XD

I found a high traffic spot and sttod in one spot and spun in a circle and placed mines in a circle. Took about 3-5 min. Very Easy Quest

A really funny, and easy quest indeed :P

I found the best way to do this was place mines in a long line and just watch the mobs run into them, took about 2 minutes to get all the kills this way :D

You don't have to use the mines to kill them. I just did it now (3.3.3) without dropping a single mine. Also, you don't even have to get the killing blow. Flame shock + Lava Burst to the face + the turrets actually finishing off the mobs after they'd run past me = still get quest credit. Unless you're a class with really awful burst damage you might be better off just taking them down to 50% and letting the turrets do your dirty work for you. That worked a lot better for me than all the times I tried to use the mines to kill them on other characters.

I found it much easier once I started strafing (Q and E by default). That way you can see the path the approaching Garm are taking whilst laying the mines.

One curious thing I found here - there's a glowy ball thing hovering in the air at 44.44 82.49 - white, whispy, with large snowflakes inside it. I couldn't target it, it didn't show up at all on hunter tracking. You can simply just head to /way 42 82 where the laser turrets are and get a quick tag on the mobs there before they are slain.

Description

I've been waiting an eternity for these mines! Well, a few days at least. What took him so long?

Here's the low down, compadre... there's this nasty bunch of magnataur--you know, big, hairy, and extremely ugly--and they seem pretty keen on taking K3 for themselves.

Not going to happen.

We've got some defenses set up in their path, northeast of here. Sadly, our laser turrets have pretty limited power supplies... that's where these mines come in! Get over there and blow them up good!
