The Waygate is located at 40,83. Southeast of The Mosslight Pillar.

It takes you to a previously inaccessible location in Un'goro north of Marshal's Refuge known as The Shaper's Terrace.

Just tried it and no, the teleport doesn't close forever after the quest is done. You can still use the waygate afterwards.

DO NOT DROP DOWN TO GET AN HERB OR ANYTHING ELSE! you will not be able to get back up, and if your lucky you'll have your hearth down like I did and have to trek all the way back to northrend manually yay!

If you're a Mage or level 80 Warlock, you can go down and get back. Run to the Marshal's Refuge, head northeast to the flight master, go east through a palm tree til you reach 46.7,6.6 from there, use Blink to northeast, you'll get back on. For Warlock, it's a bit tricky, you have to place Demonic Circle at 47,6.5 first, when you reach the point, just teleport to your circle. Yes, you only have 6 minutes.

Ok when you use the waygate and talk to the etymidian, he gives u a quest and u have to kill a mob in the nearby building to get the "Omega Rune" to activate him. Then u turn in quest and go back through the waygate. For those of you that walked the way back to Northrend, well, pay more attention to quest scripts :P

actually, you CAN get up to the Shaper's Terrace again when you jump down, without any tricks!
Just ride up to Marhal's Refuge. When you get there, go past the flightmaster and ride up to the mountain at 47,6. With some careful jumping on your mount, you can ride back up to the terrace from there.
(might take a while though... you have to jump exactly from the right spot.. I got lucky the first time, but spent a lot more time jumping the second time I tried)

Presumably this is actually in un'goro not in an instanced region the same as un'goro! So if you need to get to silithus for some old skool raiding this waygate is probably the quickest way to do it

Well can honestly say don't try this at home. I dropped down to try the Blink tactic as I'm a mage, lined myself up at 46.7,6.6 and used Blink to northeast but had no joy what so ever. Must have spent a good half hour with different spots attempting to blink through but no joy. I usually enjoy a challenge of zoning but just got so frustrated with this one. Also tried the mount jump, seemed to get very close but just couldn't make it. As nihmue says, you need to be a bit lucky to get it.

Take my advice and don't bother jumping down !

If you are on a flying mount when you enter the Waygate, nothing will happen. You can go through on a land mount, however.

I'm a priest and I had no trouble to return all the way back. Once your down, get to 50,9 approx - it's a plateau with lvl 50-something mobs. The area is named Waygate although it's still a part of the old Ungoro. As long as you die there, you end up on the cemetery upstairs. There's no need to use the spirit healer if you die close enough to the edge of the cliff.

I used the Crystal of Zin-Malor trinket to kill myself without durability damage, but you could strip down and suicide on the mobs around too.

if you manage to kill yourself at 50,9 you'll be just a little bit too far for the resurrect.
Instead, on the same plateau:

Run up the right side at 49, 10.
(make sure you can see the edge of the stair)
Kill yourself (pull one of the mobs, etc.)
You'll resurrect at the Shaper's Terrace Spirit Healer.
Run over to the stair and you'll be close enough to accept the resurrect.

This is actually a live teleportation, You are Correct. This is not an instanced version of Un'Goro. When I went, I actually had not gotten the Marshall's Refuge FP on my Warlock, and put my Demonic Circle up top to grab it, and when i arrived in Marshall's Refuge there were several low 50 Players in the area.

If you're falling off from the hills, you cannot jump back to above. I tried some places, but it's almost mission impossible. If you have heartstone on Dalaran, use it. It saves you long travel time!

Just forget the solutions above. It's faster with heartstone!

As an FYI, you can use the portal without having actually done the quest. Just tested it on my rogue who hasn't done a single quest in Sholazar.

It is confirmed. The waygate does not operate if you completed the quest on another character, cross faction. Yet to be seen, same faction. I would suspect not.

it's actually brilliant if you want to farm Oracles/Frenzyheart rep and grind for the Venomhide mount questline from Un'Goro in a time efficient way

The quest was telling me to take a portal to Orgrimmar, probably because you end up in Ungoro. That's where the waygate at 40, 83 takes you anyways.
