Because of the nature of getting the monsterous spineclaw to spawn, this pet is one of the rarest on the island, and i have spend many hours with friends killing the ancient spineclaw mobs trying to get it to spawn.

Some of us did get lucky, and from that we found out that unlike for some of the items for trading this item (not the caged pet, the item that drops. you can trade it for one hour with anyone who also tagged the same rare) and logging/exiting game do not give you credit towards the achievement, which means there is no other option to getting credit then looting it yourself *le sigh*.

good luck to all those achievement/pet collectors out there
looks like this and a few other items were changed to no longer be tradeable(the dropitem, pet is ofc. still cageable)

Found this pet in my bags, didn't even know I'd gotten it. Feeling extremely lucky when I'm reading about people farming for it for weeks...

I have a most wondrous tale about this little beauty.

Several days ago, I began the arduous process of farming for the Spineclaw Crab. The rarity of Monstrous Spineclaw spawns was a bit daunting, but I was in it for the long haul and figured that it would be worth it in the end. Since the Monstrous Spineclaw is such a rare spawn (My first kill happened many months after I initially entered the Timeless Isle), I would always take the time to call in General chat to see if anyone else wanted to have a shot at its loot before I attacked it.

A Troll Hunter came out of nowhere and tried to blast the Monstrous Spineclaw down. But before he was able to, an Alliance Pandaren player came out of nowhere and managed to tag it. Afterwards he thanked me for telling him that it spawned since- lo and behold- he managed to get the Spineclaw Crab and fulfill that part of Going To Need A Bigger Bag, which is what he was going for the whole time.

He was so thankful for my call that he actually gave me the Spineclaw Crab he managed to get. No strings attached. And my mind was blown when I checked the crab's breed and found that it was exactly the one I had wanted: P/P.

So I was taught a valuable lesson that day. Don't make an ass of yourself trying to get a rare drop. Be kind. Be patient. In WoW, that goes very, very far.

Interestingly, both the Wowhead model viewer and the official Battle net armories both show this crab to be green, when it is, in fact, blue.

This crab seems to have an unique ability set. You can compare it to it's other sisters from WoD.

no Bronze vendor for this during Pandaria: Remix. What a pity, theyve added zero pets for purchase, simply forgotten to add this.
