Master Li sells these pets on the Timeless Isle in Patch 5.4.

These pets will be purchasable with the new currency called Celestial Coin which is awarded for winning the Celestial Tournament and it's weekly quest called The Celestial Tournament.

The celestial pets cost 3 x Celestial Coin each.

Note: To enter the tournament to start accumulating the coins, you must have 15 level 25 pets.

The August Celestial pets are as follows:

Chi-Chi, Hatchling of Chi-Ji

Zao, Calfling of Niuzao

Xu-Fu, Cub of Xuen

Yu'la, Broodling of Yu'lon

Note: Celestial Family will be awarded once you obtain these 4 pets.

Well, I literally spent an hour on this guy trying to defeat him and I can't seem to be able to. Not only his heals are incredible, but he hits like a truck too. With any of my pets, I have 2-3 turns before he kills it (considering that he seems to VERY TOO OFTEN hit 3 times with his attack, which hit for 275 each) and nothing hits hard enough to out damage his heals (the 100% dodge does help either). If you count that his heals will tick for at least 250 and he has the buff that reduces all damage taken by 50% and can't be dealt more than 35% of his hp in one attack (nothing does btw), I'm not sure what would even do the trick.

Did anyone actually defeat him and could give some pointers?

After 6 hours of constant beating this is the team that worked almost flawlessly to me:

(using an addon to track the enemies abilities CD's is pretty useful)
If you find Unborn Valkyr hard to find, you can use a Ghostly Skull since the key abilitie is Unholy Ascension.

1. She will always open with Tranqulity, then Quills and then Ethereal. After that, she will always use this priority: Ethereal when off cd > Tranquility when off cd > Quills. Keep this in mind.

2. Open with valkyr, use Doom as your first move and then keep shadow shocking. When Ethereal is 1 round cd use Uholy Ascension. Switch to one of your Wisps.

3. Since now it should be out off cd she will use Ethereal. Use ward as your first move. Then Flash and then Light. Since Light punches in 2 hits plus the bonus of unholy ascension, you will be doing absurds amounts of dmg through her elite racials.

4. Keep using your abilities once they get ready and just pass when they are all on cd. Always Ward or pass when Ethereal is off cd. . When she drops under 50% health you will be faster so its pretty much gg.

Important NOTE: Since Ward blocks the next attack against you and being on a 3 round cd, if you time it correctly it will be up while she Ethereal and Tranquility preventing the next Quills at the 3rd round letting your Ward off cd again. Since Flash blinds her for 50% miss, Flash+Ward combo can give you a good amount of rounds untouched. If you time this well, you wont even need your 3rd wisp.

beat using feline familiar, fel flame and lesser voidcaller, but lesser voidcaller just delivered finishing blow. i started off using feline familiar stoneskin when he tranq'd, then did prowl and waited for ethereal, then i did onyx bite until dead and then i used fel flame anbd scorched earth and conflagarate

The team I ended up beating Chi-Chi with was:

A Feline Familiar, an Oily Slimeling, and a moth.

I tried various combinations that I thought would be great but ultimately, I beat her very easily with this combination last second after getting frustrated trying other strats I'd seen.

You could easily replace the moth with another pet, EDIT: but I would recommend using Feline Familiar first in the rotation and maybe keeping the last pet simple, like a pet with Surge of Power just to finish her off.

Start out with the same strat as another commenter posted: Use Feline's Stoneskin, use Onyx Bite, then Prowl when Chi-Chi will use Ethereal. I just smashed her down with bite, then Slimeling's Corrosion and Expunge. Could use Living Fluid in place of the Slimeling for Evolution's damage boost, too.

Something else I learned is that Chi-Chi doesn not always use Tranquility in a predictable rotation.

Hey here the comps I used to defeat all them

Chi-Chi, Hatchling of Chi-Ji
Nexus Whelpling and Minimindslayer (Arcane Storm, Mana Surge) You can also use minimindslayer bônus Dmg before Mana Surge or Life Exchange. Down in 5 rounds.
You can also use 2 Shimmershell Snail or similars (start with Dive so you avoid the second round of attacks, buff your self with shell shield then just first attack. Keep in mind to rebuff shield on his block round)

Zao, Calfling of Niuzao
Any pet with Call lighting, then any Zandalari (Add dmg with black Claw or Exposed Wounds + Hunting Party ) down in the second round of Hunting Party)

Xu-Fu, Cub of Xuen
Started with Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling, bombing run in the first round, one attack, then decoy, changed to Nether Faerie Dragon, Life Exchange, and my third was a darkmoon zeppelin, decoy again, a first attack

Yu'la, Broodling of Yu'lon
You can easily solo with Gregorious grell.

Any two snails can beat this easily. (e.g. Rapana Whelk or one of these).

Fire Quills is a joke with Shell Shield plus Critter weakness. Time Shell Shield with boss' Ethereal then spam Ooze Touch.

Three of the celestials (not Xu Fu) can be defeated with the following strategy completely without fail:

Open with any undead who can cast Curse of Doom (Click the link for a list of pets) and just do damage until your "death round" and then use Curse of Doom. It is important that you don't use it until your death round.

Bring out your Pandaren Water Spirit and use Geyser then Whirlpool.

Finally, change pets to Chrominius. Use Howl. The enemy now is hit by double damage from Curse of Doom, Geyser, and Whirlpool simultaneously. If the enemy somehow survives, it is now stunned and ready for you to unleash a double damage Surge of Power which WILL finish the job.

The only pet that will die in this strategy is your first undead pet, so bring several of them. Save one of the non Xu Fu celestials for last, so you can enter battle with them and heal on the first round (none of the celesitals other than Xu Fu attack on the first round) and quit the battle to heal up your other two pets between fights.

I still don't have a clean, failproof strategy for Xu Fu, but overwhelming him with mechanicals seems to work best. Make sure you overwrite his Moonfire with Call Lightning (Tranquil Mechanical Yeti works great for this) so that he might miss and so that he doesn't heal more and just beat on him with mechanical attacks.

At level 1 the stats are:

154 Health
12 Power
11 Speed
Quality - Rare
Breed #8 (P/S)

This pet CANNOT be caged, so no trading. (Sorry!)

Beat this guy fairly easily. None of my pets had particularly high speed or power. Although my snail was a 100% health breed.

Team:
Rapana Whelk: Use acidic goo, ooze touch, then dive for turn three since this is where chi will use epheral. Repeat acidic goo and ooze touch till dead. This pet alone brought him to 20%

Coilfang stalker: brought him out, used surge of power and win

Arcane eye: did nothing

Aside from just beating Chi-Chi in the celestial tournament, I find him very useful in leveling other pets.

My main leveling team consists of Chi-Chi, Gahz'rooki, and any pet that I intend to level. From there, continuously fight random pets within The Heartlands of Valley of the Four Winds. Starting off with the pet I'm leveling, I then switch to either my Gahz or Chi-Chi, depending on whether it's aquatic or critter.

Chi-chi usually kills any aquatics within 3-4 turns with alpha strikes and takes little damage with tranquility, while any damage taken can be nearly fully healed with a tranq + Ethereal. Gahz' usually just starts with a bite and then devour. The team can quickly kill pets while healing any damage taken. This saves the need for any pet bandages!

I personally prefer Chi-Chi over any of the other Celestial babies, not just because he matches my paladin's t16/t12 xmog, but his useful flying + healing abilities.

I also feel that this little guy needs some love too!
