For those unable to find him, Eck is located through a passageway you will fine in the room of Moorabi, the boss which transforms into an elephant. I am unsure if there are requirements to finding his passageway, but I've never noticed it until after defeating the so-called "final boss" of Gundrak, Gal'darah.

As there is only a heroic drops tab, and only a heroic achievement, I believe he is only in the heroic version.

Easy boss. Group up on his behind(ranged included). He does a frontal cone AOE that isn't too nasty. His only real trick is that, similar to the trash before this boss, he will do a leap that clears the aggro table. Hence why it's good to group up, tank won't need to run far to smack him. He is a DPS race, but with mostly 70 geared(albeit BT / Sunwell) we still got him down before the enrage timer.

Downed this boss the other day.

He is located at the end of a long cavern opposite Moorabi, opening on the wall between the stairwells leading into the stadium.

His trash consists of single pulls of mobs that, like the boss, charge randomly. Although they are not particularly dangerous I do not recommend large pulls because multiple mobs may charge a single soft class.

Eck himself spawns when his trash has been cleared. He appears at the base of the broken stairs leading down into the brine. He does not aggro automatically when he spawns.

Eck has several abilities:

Eck Spit: Casts a channeled nature-elemental conal aoe (a barf, so to speak), usually on the tank; he can be taunted during the channel, and the attack will immediately be redirected onto the tank much lke Quagmirran).

Eck Spring: Drops aggro and charges a random player. Tank can simply taunt him back.

Eck Berserk (Hard Enrage): After about 60-90 seconds, Eck will enrage, increasing attack speed by 150% and damage done by 500%. He will hit a tank in full 80 blues for 15-20k per swing. This cannot be healed through, even if the tank is geared, except by use of Shield Wall / Divine Protection or similar cooldowns.

Tank Eck in the archway leading into his room. Eck should be facing the tank, who will have his back to the brine. All other party members should stand behind him at close range, spreading out around his hitbox. Tank should taunt Eck as necessary. His charge and breath CDs are shorter than the taunts of some classes so Hand of Protection and Intervene should be used liberally.

Overall, not a hard boss.

If you are looking for the achievment, try to stay in front of him until you get the debuff Eck Residue. It lasts an hour, so you should have plenty of time to down the last boss. Good luck!

This boss is easy, its harder to make sure the entire group gets eck on them than it is to actually kill him, not often he lasts long enough to enrage unless dps is lacking slightly. his random jump can hurt on clothies but easily healed through.
Tank needs to save taunt for when he jumps.

Pretty easy tank and spank.
If his enrage time is 90 seconds like previously stated, then you'd only need an average 1198 dps per person.
(This is assuming the healer isn't dps'ing.)

431,392 hp / 90 seconds ~ 4793 dps
4793 dps / 4 ~ 1198 dps

Eck uses a spell Eck Spit This spell is a frontal cone AOE

1. taking this frontal cone AOE will cause you ~ 8910 dmg and drain 660 mana over 3 seconds.
2. It also applies the HARMLESS 1 hour debuff Eck Residue
3. This residue is needed for the achievement What the Eck?
4. I have not tested, but it is claimed that the green snakes in the Slad'ran fight at the other side of the instance will run away from players with this residue on them, so it may be beneficial to start the instance at the southern entrance (on the opposite side of Akali from the summoning stone), though if your group needs the residue for Slad'ran you should clear most of the instance first then kill Eck shortly before the Slad'ran fight so that you have enough time to get to him and no chance of losing the debuff while clearing trash.

Be aware that the Eck Residue debuff is removed by Divine Shield, Cloak of Shadows, Iceblock, and pretty much anything that can remove debuffs (yes, including death). So if you're after the achievement What the Eck? or snake repellant benefits in the Slad'ran fight, be sure not to do anything that will remove it (that includes running out of health).

Please use your communication skills and discuss with your group weither people will be taking this aoe on purpose for the achievement or for benefit on Slad'ran, as a healer its not a hard fight but it does help to know that your group all intend to take (sometimes simultaneously) ~9000 additional damage so that you can be ready with a group heal when he casts.

Yes, Eck is one of the possible memories that can be summoned by Argent Confessor Paletress in Trial of the Champion, released in patch 3.2.

yeah so we purposely had him enrage (i was tanking as a prot pally, just taunted each time he jumped until he berserked, no dps attacked until he enraged).

we got him to 20% before all the dps died, our healer was unprepared for right when he enraged and i basically my ardent defender saved me, the dps died by the spit, since the enrage ALSO affects his spit damage, it does 13k per tick.
definitely fun though

If you're trying to get the Ohanzee the Elder for Elders of the Dungeons (Lunar Festival achievement), he is standing in the same area as the Colossus boss.

I was today in the instance to grind rep for Horde Expedition. Killing Eck doesn't seem to give any rep.

Is anyone else having issues with this achievement? Level 90 warrior, only one in the group and attacking Eck. Issue I'm having is his "Eck Spit" attack initiated, and when his attack bar is at 100% to initiate it, the attack ceases. I've spammed "Taunt" and done my best not to kill him in 15 seconds, and yet the attack doesn't work....anyone have some advice? Would greatly appreciate it.

Remember to unequip items so he can actually hit you with the attack inorder to get the debuff.

Two days in a row Eck has bugged out for me. He drops through the floor when I engage in melee, and then returns a few seconds later to repeat his manoeuvre. I was able to eventually get him down by not getting too close and firing ranged attacks. Even then, he kept evading. I found that my DOT kept working even when he dropped below the ground. I was not able to loot him, even with a looterang, but at least I got the achievement.

Wearing a Tabard of the Ebon Blade while killing Eck didn't gain me any reputation for the Knights of the Ebon Blade like the other bosses in Gundrak did. I would assume that this applies to all tabards/factions (if not feel free to post a reply below). So that's probably another reason to skip this boss if you already got the What the Eck? achievement.

This is what I did on my 120 ret pally. I went in on Heroic mode and killed Moorabi, after killing him you turn around and opposite from Moorabi is a little pathway leading down into a tunnel. Head into tunnel and take off all gear and walk up to Eck and then after he starts attacking you turn around and wait till he spits on you and you get the residue buff. After that turn around kill him and put your gear back on and finish the run.

Maybe i had rng luck on my side, it only took 2 mins to get the residue.
