In patch 2.4.3, numerous flying non-combat pets have had their flight height modified to no longer skim along the ground. This includes captured firefly, dragonhawk hatchlings, moths, owls, parrots, phoenix hatchling, spirit of summer, sprite darter, and tiny sporebat.

This little guy is exactly the same as a Night Elf's ghost but red instead of blue. If you look very closely you'll see a face.

The screenshot here does not do this mini pet justice. If you see one in game, get up real close and look at it. Its a floating head with glowing eyes and a series of spinning yellow orbs with blue light trails moving around it. And it pulses with a red burst every half second or so.

Really neat looking mini pet. Glad I got this one.

Really strong pet when combining Conflagrate and Scorched Earth.

Only 3 pets have both of these abilities:

Spirit of Summer (Fire Festival Pet)
Searing Scorchling (Obtained from Zen'Vorka's Cache)
Fel Flame (Can be found in Shadowmoon Valley)

Not a very good pet to compliment a flame transmog. It looks more pink than the fiery red/orange you would expect.

so did anyone else's turn to a green quality pet after they learned it? I was disappointed this happened.

For all the toy and pet collectors out there these are the current ones that you can purchase during the Midsummer Fire Festival (event starts on 21st June and ends on 5th July)

Toys:
- Brazier of Dancing Flames: costs 350 Burning Blossom
- Burning Defender's Medallion: costs 500 Burning Blossom
- Cozy Bonfire: costs 350 Burning Blossom
- Set of Matches: costs 500 Burning Blossom

All pets can be traded and sold/bought from the AH

This does not seem to be offered anymore. I just checked twice and its no longer at the vendor.

This pet is constantly bugged in color and blizzard doesnt care anymore to fix it. It usually completely red, but the bug causes it's aura to be blue.

This NPC can be found in Darnassus , Orgrimmar , Silvermoon City , Stormwind City , The Exodar , Thunder Bluff , and Undercity .

This little piece of summer smells of warm evenings and lightning storms. If you look closely, you might be able to make out a face.
