The WoW Classic Darkmoon Faire is now active in Mulgore for August 2020, running from the 10th through 16th. The Faire will be available in Elwynn in September 2020.
WoW Classic Darkmoon Faire Event Guide
The Darkmoon Faire has a variety of activities ranging from card turn-ins for trinkets to obtaining companion pets, but at this point in WoW Classic, players are most likely interested in the
Sayge Buffs
for speedrunning and progressing through AQ40.
Reaching the Mulgore Darkmoon Faire as Alliance
The route to Mulgore for Alliance has its risks, but little chance of having to encounter Horde guards if you're reasonably careful.
There are two possible routes -- one shorter best taken by higher-level characters, and one longer but safer for lower-level characters.
Shorter but Riskier: Menethil Harbor > Theramore > Dustwallow Marsh > Barrens > Mulgore
This assumes that your character has the flight point to Menethil Harbor in The Wetlands. If not, this may not be a short route, as this requires a laborious trip through Dun Morogh, Loch Modan, and Wetlands.
This is best for characters who are at least level 40+, as Dustwallow Marsh's roads are not safe and the mob levels are higher.
Fly to Menethil Harbor in Wetlands, and take the boat to Theramore.
From Theramore, run northwest into Dustwallow Marsh and follow the road as it winds north, then west, then south, and then west again toward the Barrens.
Upon entering the Barrens, go west and then turn north on the main road. When you can see Camp Taurajo up ahead, swing west toward the mountains and pass south of Camp T, picking up the road going west into Mulgore on the other side.
Go west into Mulgore until you see a small dirt road heading north, just to the east of the pond (this route avoids Bloodhoof Village and mostly avoids a guard that can wander this road, although you will need to keep an eye out for him).
Keep the pond at your left shoulder and follow it around until you pick up the road again going north. This will take you safetly into the Darkmoon Faire grounds.

Longer but Safer: Stormwind > Elwynn > Duskwood > Stranglethorn > Ratchet > Barrens > Mulgore
If you already have any flight points that shortcut the processes, by all means use them. This path assumes you have no flight paths.
Take your best route to Stormwind City, and exit the city into Elwynn Forest. Run south to Goldshire, and turn east.
Run east across Elwynn Forest into Redridge Mountains.
In Redridge, take your first right and run south into Duskwood.
Follow the road south through Darkshire, and around a bend toward the west. Just south of the Twilight Grove, turn left on the road and due south into Stranglethorn Vale.
Follow the road south down the entire length of Stranglethorn Vale to Booty Bay, and take the boat on the northwest docks to Ratchet.
Once in Ratchet (don't forget to pick up the flight point!), take the road west toward the Crossroads. Once you can see the Crossroads, you will need to cut off the corner going southwest, and pick up the road going south.
As you approach Camp Taurajo, you will see a road turning west into the camp. Skirt well north of Camp T and pick up the road west into Mulgore on the other side.
