this was pretty obvious tbh, wouldn't make sense that cleansing would keep good effects too, should also make u wonder what the true prizes are for keeping the gift of N'zoth, btw there were sources at Blizzcon (blizz devs) who would tell you straight out if u had asked. Keeping the gift of N'zoth rewards u in shadowlands, something huge. Meanwhile siding with sylvanas will not alter anything in shadowlands, which in itself is a big news regarding what happens to sylvanas or what she becomes in the new xpac.

If you put a socket on an item using Gouged Eye of N'Zoth I hope the socket will remain on the item if you choose to cleanse it.Assuming that it will, but I'm not in a position to test it.
IMHO gems just arent worth the cost in msot situations. (only for pros who try for leader boards)
5 corruption with a T3 effect seems like a little too little corruption, seeing as other gear with T3 effects have 20-25. I thought Ion stated that all items with a particular tier would have the same level of corruption.
Interesting to note: the build contains 4 wrist pieces as baseline corrupted items (https://ptr.wowhead.com/armor/min-level:400/slot:9?filter=198;32593;0 will show you all 4 of them, in addition to some others added in the patch). As far as I'm aware, these and the weapons with special effects are the only items, that have corruption as baseline. I'm pretty sure those wrist items are the ones used for this first Assault cache.What that means is:
