I like the fact that they add more legendaries and all that, and a another leggo is always welcome, but what class/spec is going to viably use this? I think its a good ilvl boost for alts, but the equip effect, does not seem THAT good imho
This late into the expansion, it only stands to reason to have a means for new players to catch up. You can have two slots for legion legendaries. The ones you can get easily are the crafted one and this one. I think its just great that the Insignia will be available this easily. They don't have to be great, they are not supposed to be great. They are supposed to catch you up. I mean, take for example the crafted legendaries. Imagine them being BiS for some classes. Their prices would skyrocket and they would break the economy. Not to mention, it wouldn't be fair to players who commited serious amounts of time to their mains. You've been grinding all those leggos only for a patch to come out and everyone buying their BiS with $$.
TAke for example, you can only get the thing if you defeat Argus, so yeah, right now, no one is going to take returning players, let alone their alts into raid to even try and get it. So yeah, its not all that for Alts. That is for sure.
Does this ring count as one of two leggos you can wear or does not?
So if it's an alt catchup mechanic, is there any prerequisite for the quest before it is available?
So, I just picked up A Titanic Effort and Antorus, the Burning Throne: The Death of a Titan, but the reward for the latter shows Insignia of the Grand Army at ilvl 910, not 1000. Is this a tooltip bug, or does the item adjust itself (based on what?) when you complete the quest, or...?
Given Blizzard's stance on raid quests this expac - as well as the fact that the trinkets and mount are restricted to Normal+ - it seems somewhat unlikely that this will be obtainable via LFR.
